1. Thanks guys, ime pricing to sell, it used to be my main bass but I use my kubicki as my main bass now as it suits my present band more in sound and looks. Will hopefully have pics up tonight. would be nice to sell quick do that I can catch the gas item ime watching :-)
2. Have seen a bass I wouldn't mind off of the for sale section here (damn Gas). So to fund buying it I am looking to sell my much loved Warwick Thumb BO 4 string. It's in good condition with no chips, guoges or marks to the front, however, there is some scratches to the rear (see Picture). Warwick Straplocks. It has a set of fairly new Warwick Black Label strings and has been professionally set up. It comes with a warwick rockbass bag and wax. Lovely tone and that classic thumb sound. Price wise I am realistic under the present climate (£450 ish), so I am open to sensible offers, I live in Bristol so if you want to collect it will save you the courier if not, I am also happy to despatch via courier. Any interest please PM me, am happy to answer any questions. I will aim to get some pics up tonight. 4. Kubicki - Plays and sounds a dream
5. Must admit, I don't get the Hipshot problem, as the Kubicki has a fantastic mechanism and the additional frets :-)
6. Saw Ultravox play last night in Bristol. Was one hell of a good show. I do think imop that Chris Cross is an underestimated bassist, was a pleasure watching him play. Mind you as musicians go, Billie Currie is both an amazing keyboard player and violinist. Anyone else out there seen their latest tour?

My main bass is my Kubicki in Black, love it to bits. And Phil is a fantastic guy, if you phone or telephone the company, it's always Phil that responds and really helpful. p.s. love your white one!
8. Never lend my bases, not a chance. Have had to share my back line occassionally, but they bassically plug and play, thats my instruction along with no drinks on top of my amp. Unfortunately you do get some that don't give a sh*t. On the one occassion a guy ignored my request and put his beer on my amp, he got rather a rude awakening and got embarrased when I jumped on stage during their set grabbed the beer and unplugged my amp. Show over for him!
9.
Up for sale here is my Musicman Bongo 4 String with dual humbuckers. The usual Bongo configuration of 4 Band eq, Vol, Blend, Low mid/High Mid and Bass/Treble with a nice low action making it really easy to play. Its in really good condition with only the usual headstock chips that are common on Bongo's and these are shown in the pictures. Got this in a trade deal with, I believe now former forum member, mike_h with my DJ4 going the other way. The pics here are from his original for sale ad but will be updated with my own tomorrow when the light improves! The bass is in exactly the same condition as when it left Mike as I just never got on with it although it sounds absolutely massive! Im looking for £700 for this bass or would accept trades/part exchanges. With regards to trades I am keen to try my hand at 5 strings but will also look at other offers so PM away! Cheers, Jon
PM'D

Got to be my Phil Kubicki Ex Factor, love the look and feel, plays like a dream.
12. Sad news today. Ron Asheton Guitarist for The Stooges was found dead today. Ron also played Bass for The Stooges for a period including playing Bass on the 'Raw Power' album. Personally am gutted. R.I.P. Ron

Greeneking

Just a quick feedback for Peter (GreeneKing), I bought a line 6 Bass Pod XT Live off of him. Lovely, honest guy with good communication and smooth transaction. Would recommend anyone to trade with him. Ade
19. I agree with chris_b, an upgrade to the rumble would be a great idea.
20.
Thanks Ade. I'll give him a bell. Tho sadly its not under a warranty so I bet I'll be paying a whole lot more than the carriage!
Bernie, EBS reputataion is paramount to them andBernie. Bernie didn't even ask the age of my bass head, his attitude is to get it fixed. If Bernie does charge it won't be an arm or a leg, I am sure of it. ade
21.
I seem to be having some problems with me amp. Rather than me trying to clumbsily explain what's wrong with it can anybody here who's in the West Midlands recommend a good, competent repairer who can check this out for me? Paul
Hi Paul, Get in touch with Bernie Goodman of GB Cuitars. He is the UK distributor and official servcice company for EBS. When I had problems with my HD350 I phoned Bernie, sent it to him, he repaired it and returned it. The only thing it cost me was the courier to him. Bernie is first class, and so very helpful. His number is 01273 220055. ade
22. Other for me also: 1989 Kubicki Ex Factor
23.
we have a couple of members with Kubicki basses, I've only played one once and only briefly at that. I found the controls a little confusing without a layout diagram. BTW I believe you may have missed out one pickup selector setting, I only counted five and remember there being a 'woolly sound'.
Yes your right, one mute, 3 x passive and 2 x Active setting. The controls can be a bit fiddly but have a vast array of tones, so can take a bit of tweaking to get the sound you are after, but once you get that sound it's amazing. I love mine, and if it were ever stolen I would definately replace it. It compliments my warwick thumb also, the kubicki being short scale and the thumb being long. Basses are so additictive.
24. Another one to ad to the mix is the Kubicki Ex Factor Bass. I must admit you either love them or hate them. Personally I love them. Built like a tank as well as being light, balance is perfect and sound amazing. It kinda has a headstock but is headless. It features the 32"/36" scale, ebony fretboard, 34-laminate maple neck with the unique drop d mechanism. Alder Body Electrics- 18 volt - 3 Rotary stacks: Master Vol/Pan Control, Bass Boost/Treble Boost, Pickup Selector (non-stack) with 6 positions: Off; Passive Bridge and Neck; Active Bridge, B-N, and Neck. - Kubicki Pickups (2) - Active and Passive The tuning bridge works very precisely and - thank God - it is NOT designed for double ball end strings (like most headless basses). Some people find its shape quite weird, or even ugly. This is surely a matter of taste BUT its futuristic design definitively makes sense: this is one of the most ergonomic, confortable and well balanced basses ever built in my opinion. Sound wise, the Kubicki Ex-Factor is really a sort of chameleon. The multi-mode active/passive switch offers very different colours, from some more traditional J-Bass or P-Bass oriented tones to some bright and punchy or "ultra-deep" without being muddy modern sounds. I play mainly rock and it's perfect for me. On top of all this, its focus is absolutly amazing, a very defined and well contoured sound. Of course you can hear some nice Kubicki bass sounds on early Stu Hamm recordings. You can here the kubicki ex factor on you tube. Have a listen to Vail Johnson from Kenny G's solo, that will give you an indication of this lovely basses sound. Service & Repair: if you call kubicki technology, you'll get to talk directly to phil. no bullshit, just straight to the point facts and helpful hints. He takes his basses very seriously and will happily advise and help on any of the basses he manufactures. All in all having owned many basses, I love the ex factor, so wanted to put it in the headless mix. Is there any other Kubicki fans out there?
