7. I really recommend this website for learning sight reading. He's an excellent tutor: http://thebasscase.com/sight-reading/
8. Adding bass to chords often spoils everything by rooting the harmony in the most bland way and often destroying interesting chord sequences and harmonic colours. It really is the most unnecessary instrument of all. I'm convinced!
9. The bass guitar is a wholly unnecessary sound in most pop music. Why would you want to add an additional low note to a 6-note chord? It doesn't make any sense in the first place.
10. Song spoiled by awful ham-fisted tub-thumping. Silly twat at the back mis-reading the great BB

13.
That's that hair split..... There is certainly a sense that some musicains (Hancock, Monk, Jarrett etc) have earned the right to smack the keyboard with their elbow/head/any part of their anantomy. If that's all someone can do, then the credibility of the technique as an artistic choice is compromised.
Time and time again, over and over again, this argument about knowing the rules before you can break them and 'earning the right' to make a 'noise'.
14.
email sent
Hmmm... I haven't received an email about the bass...? Here it is again: Email: [email protected]
15. I thought we'd keep this thread going http://youtu.be/FghPqueu034
16. I think 34" is at the very limit of most people's hands and is honestly pushing it a bit. Anything bigger is absurd and anything smaller is welcome.
17. Hmmm... that ap is pretty good!
18.
If you've an iPhone/ iPad then this app is a great help https://itunes.apple...d317094014?mt=8 Good luck!
Downloading this right now.....thanks!
19. About time I learned to read music. You should see the way I write baselines down; like the scribblings and drawings of a 5-year old.
20. I have a big box of strings. They're all muddled up. I have three heavy gauge strings I really like on my bass but the E string broke and I couldn't find one that matched. I can't remember where I got the other strings- I think they were on the bass when I bought it. The builder told me the make so I bought a new set but they're nothing like them. DRs were great on the Wal but not on the present bass. Rotos feel too rough - the current budget packs are incredibly rough, in fact. Just ordered heavy gauge Hi Beams. I'm hoping that will do the job but they're expensive...
21. I have two very dead spots on my Wal bass. Nothing will change it. I'm pretty sure you'll have to live with your dead spot. One dead out of 96 notes isn't bad, eh?
22. Thanks for all the nice comments about the track (and the bass), guys.
