2.
This is nuts in all the right ways. https://www.youtube....h?v=OL-aRjjyQpo
What's the background to this show? It's almost like a Sondheim thing. Very interesting.
3. Bump this Fecking thing is still here
4. The interview is now up on my blog with more links and photos: https://spoombung.wordpress.com/2016/03/09/fretless-bassist-percy-jones-interviewed-by-kev-hopper-may-2015/
5. Weirdly, The Thompson Twins; piercing Hi-fi noises at a freebie gig in Lsnchester poly on the eighties. I hated the two numbers I stayed for. A few years ago a soul/Rock band called Gentlemen's Agreement. Recently, Guapo, a proggy psychedelic outfit - unbearably loud.
6. T O N I G H T Timings, for the people who like to know timings: Kavus plays records: 7.30pm - 8.40pm Charles plays piano: 8.40pm - 9.20pm Kavus plays records: 9.20pm - 9.45pm Prescott play things: 9.45pm - 10.45pm Kavus plays records: 10.45pm - 11pm

8.
Somebody please buy this wonderful bass.It needs to be played!!! I have a 32 inch scale fretless CB ball bass like this which is a joy to play, and the luthier work/art of Chris is second to none:-) GLWTS again.
Thanks!
9. Chris Squire picked more interesting note choices (intervals) and had a style that crossed chord changes in a pleasing, dynamic way. He also had a cutting, monstrous vibrating tone. Entwistle's playing and The Who on the other hand do not interest me at all.
10. Still here! To get this amp all you have to do is meet me in Deptford, south London and hand over £30. It really is that simple!
11.
I'm surprised there aren't more 4 string players. I certainly can't remember the last time I played a gig and someone in the other bands had a 5 stringer. Infact...I can but only because I sold him it!
Same. I've rarely seen a 5-string at a gig.
12. It's the North London debut of a new-look, four-piece Prescott, featuring Keith Moliné (Pere Ubu) alongside Kev Hopper (Stump), Rhodri Marsden (Scritti Politti) and Frank Byng (Snorkel, Crackle, many others). A mesmerising collection of new tunes featuring soaring melodies, nagging riffs and explosive sounds. Also, the legendary Charles Hayward at the piano with his (begin anywhere) project: "A sequence of betrayal, paranoia, subterfuge, as well as sound events, spoken word and percussion pieces, stark, minimal arrangements; an unexpected departure." And binding the whole thing together from the safety of the DJ booth will be Kavus Torabi (Knifeworld, Gong, Cardiacs). Wednesday 2nd March, Servant Jazz Quarters, 10A Bradbury Street, N16 8JN London Dalston, London £5 on the door
13. I'd recommend heavier strings on a short scale: 110-50 to overcome flabbiness. They can be a bit dull sounding.
