If I ever went back to gigging I reckon I could cope with just the one, I wouldn't be nervous about gigging it without a backup but I'd always have one to hand. As it stands, I've 3 - A Maruszczyk Jake 32" which is my forever bass, a Hofner Icon strung with flats cause I always wanted one and thought it could come in handy for something and a deko 5er I've just got because I've never played one before so it's a good learning curve. The kind of music I'd be inclined to play (indie stuff), the Jake can do it all with ease. If I got into difficulty the Hofner would be able to hold its own I reckon in a backup situ.

This is a strange one; Owen Morris who engineered their first few albums said that NG re-recorded a lot of the bass parts due to poor playing in the studio by Guigs. I wondered how bad it could be given that by his own admission Guigs only played root notes and never strayed from the bottom two strings. Owen Morris said they ran the bass through a mini Moog and used it to remove all the top end. It's not as if it's very audible on the finished recording anyway. Blur smashed the bass battle there hands down

I enjoy the bass line to Chemical World amongst many others, AJ was definitely a formative influence on me picking up the bass

Must....not......look 🙈

I really like the valley green, although with hindsight I probably should have tried to ask Adrian if it could be a bit more green, like this
-
I second that!

I've noticed a fair few of the colours have a different take on them than the shades normally associated with Fender e.g. LPB, the greens etc etc. The surf green was really subdued when I expected it to be really bright
-
I asked Adrian for a comparison of their surf v sea foam green as it looks the same on their configurator and he duly obliged with some photos. As it turned out I wasn't fond of either so went with the valley green instead. Maybe an email is worth a punt?

SOLD Squier CV 60s Precision (2019)

Here we have a 2019 Lefty Squier Classic Vibe 60s Precision in 3TS with tort pickguard for sale. This is a welcome return to production of Squier Ps since the P Special was discontinued some years ago. Bought on a whim from PMT Manchester last autumn but has barely been played and has never left the house. I recently acquired a medium scale Precision which suits me better so this is surplus to requirements. These Indonesian CV Squiers are great instruments for the money and prices are climbing in some retailers. Poplar body with a C-shaped tinted maple neck and laurel fretboard. This one is neither overly light nor dark, it's a fairly standard example from what I've seen. Fender-designed alnico pickup and stock chrome hardware. Weighs ~3.8kg. No gig bag or case. Classic looking bass, perfect if you want a Jamerson vibe! Can ship at buyer's expense, collection from Oldham or Manchester maintaining social distancing or I can deliver within Greater Manchester or surrounding areas within reason. 6/6/20 - price drop to £180

Just completed the purchase of a lefty Harley Benton 5 string from Graham. He was friendly and communicative throughout and made the sale a doddle - the instrument was in my hands a little over a day after sending. A pleasure to trade with and would have no hesitation in doing business with Graham again.

Cheers Graham- much appreciated!

FWIW, I've got no complaints about mine. The fit and finish is flawless and it sounds and plays great. As an aside, thanks to @wateroftyne for advice on the pickups. I'm glad I opted for the Maruszczyk HB over the Haeussel stacked J at the bridge. I love how in your face it is!! I was playing it this morning and actually found me dialling in a lot of the HB over the P pickup!

Adrian quoted me 12-15 weeks initially but around halfway into it I received an email saying the custom shop was closed to new orders but existing orders were to be completed. This may or may not have helped to speed the build up. Even still it's an impressive turnaround for a custom instrument
-
I ordered mine on Feb 12th and it arrived on Apr 30th

I really like the look of that. If I went for a maple fingerboard I'd have opted for the vintage tint no question. Lovely bass!

I already posted this in the lefty section but it has a place here too..

Hopefully I will pick up a deko 5er from the forum classifieds once the lockdown has lifted. It'll be my first HB and my first 5er but they seem like ridiculous value for money
-
Definitely, I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

My custom build is ready to go!! Can't wait to get my hands on it!

My culinary equivalent of my bass playing would be rummaging in the whoops section of Asda at half eight on a Monday night!
