1. Is it me or my friend Marcus has gained weight? La Belle Vie!
2. I have been playing a 5 for 2 years now, having played a 4 for about 10. I couldnt play without the 4 but needs must and I play a lot of gospel, RnB and soul so the lower notes were needed at some point. I eventually sold the 4 and I feel like I do need to play one now and again to keep the creative juices flowing...
3. I used a Fender, then Marshall but I have been using Markbass for well over a year now and I am content. I did flirt with the idea of swapping that for SWR but for now I wont complain.
4. 5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wibyuGQlyo Part Isley but still..timeless gems. I believe Jimi Hendrix played for them early on when he was a session guitarist for Motown Hitsville.
6. I have one of these and they are very good acoustic basses. Even Stanley Clarke uses them often. All the best with the sale.
7. Has anybody ever used the Eden WTDI World Tour Direct Box and Bass Guitar DI Preamp? I have been looking at getting one for quite a while now but just needed to check if anyone has used one before and what experiences you have had..
8. Maybe check on ebay and see how much they are fetching, worth Googling it as well and draw up your price on that. Good luck.
9. I think its all preference. I love Fenders but I have never come to grips with the MIM's. It could work for you. If you give it a go and you love it go for it.
10. So I guess we wont be seeing you anywhere near 'For Sale' anytime soon? Your bass looks tasty!
11. Chaka Khan's 'Funk This' featuring Michael McDonald among others.
12. A great article in The Guardian but only great because of the responses by some who know the REAL meaning of RNB: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/feb/18/tim-jonze-on-shuffle-rnb
13. I have bought some gear on here and on ebay as well with no problems in both areas but doing business on Basschat gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
14. One thing for sure, I need to invest in more Beatles music.
15. Kirk Whalum's sax solo on CeCe Winans 'He Always There' gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it. The first part of his phrasing is just magical!
16.
Chuck Sher's 'Improvisor's Bass Method' is substantially different from other instruction books I've seen, and very good, I think, for the student who's already mastered some of the basics. Instructs for double bass and electric bass: http://www.shermusic...961470100.shtml
Thanks mate, duly noted!
17.
What kind of things are you thinking about, my friend? Classical theory or Jazz/Rock/Pop? I assume the latter but wanted to be sure? I think this is a great cause and wonder if we could contact publishers for overstocks etc. I assume there is a limited budget?
I think the Jazz/Rock/Pop route would do best. Yes, the budget is pretty limited.
18.
Well my GAS is going very well so far this year. I have the EBS Reidmar which sounds amazing. I have the EBS Classic 112 which also sounds amazing. However, I now have GAS for the following, A Fender Japan Jazz 66B in white with matching headstock, blocks and binding. Yummy.
Oh Lawd! Thats tasty! I am GASsing for a 4 string Musicman StingRay in sunburst, with a maple neck.
