1. Folks, It's with a heavy heart that I find myself needing to recoup some cash and a couple of the collection have to go. For sale is this beautiful 2007 American Fender P with upgraded QTR Pounder Pups She plays wonderfully with a wonderful range of tones and a super fast neck and no real marks or blemishes. She comes with all the original bits and bobs including: Straplocks Fender Guitar shaped hardcase Fender Strap Fender Lead Manual I am looking for a straight £500 plus shipping costs to be met by buyer. Apologies but will not ship outside UK as frankly I cannot be arsed! I am in the middle of a house move so hoping to sell her within a fortnight otherwise it will have to go on hold for a bit.
2. Cheers Nick, Now to hide another bass from the enemy! ;-)
3. Apologies if this has been done before... Any other pro 2 owners out there!?
4. Welcome brother Bass head! I love Canada! My father used to say if Americans had culture and brains they would be Canadians! Apologies to our American cousins! ;-)
5. A case of another wannabe wanting instant success without learning your art! Agree the Cowell generation are taking music backwards at a very fast rate!
6. Chaps, I have a lovely fretless Westone Thunder 3 fretless that I am very happy with but I am struggling without the fret markers (pitiful I know) is there a decent way of lining the neck or does anyone know a decent luthier who can carry out this change for me? Ta, Steve.
7. Just bought this babe, I think its a Mk2 from 1987, I really wanted a Mk1 (just like Rockschools Henry Thomas - remember him?) but they are so rare that had to get this one and what tones!! Apologies not the best picture will try and get some better ones later.
8. It seems to be a trait with Music Shops in general, the staff (particularly in the guitar/bass dept) are arrogant, rude, and take great delight in belittling all customers who dare to ask questions! I recall my first ever venture into a guitar shop in Stevenage back in 1983 where the guitar guy with long blonde locks made me feel so stupid (I was selecting my first guitar) I almost left in tears (I was 14) strangely many years later I returned to the shop to discover the same ass was still there, I took great delight in asking him some of the most complex questions I could think of, and reveled in his folically challenged head! Why do they do it?
9. Recently acquired a Thunder 3 Fretless thanks to a wee bit of help from Paul S (Cheers Mate) Its an awsome bass, the Westones are serioulsy underrated in my opinion.
10. Cheers guys!
11. Whoops my mistake, Aria did indeed release reissues in Paduk and Black but not available here!
Its a shame Aria didn't go for the other finishes with the re-issues like the Paduk or the black...
12. Anyone seen the Thunder 3 thats also on E-Bay at the mo?
13. I am not selling it not sure why everyone feels seeing a picture will improve thier judgements!! It could be a picture of an empty shell! lol As soon as it arrives I will put some pics up, the seller claims its an 85 model but going by the black heads and the upgraded pick-ups it looks like an 87 reissue.
No pics, no bass!! I saw a fretted go on Ebay about 2 months ago for £350. G.
14. What a beauty, Good luck with the sale... I can certainly vouch for this young man! Good Seller and buyer. Free Bump
15. Folks, I have lusted after a Westone Thunder 3 Fretless for as long as I can recall after seeing Henry Thomas on the 80's show Rockschool play one. I had no idea what to pay as these babes come up so rarely. I saw one go for £375 a couple of years back so took a punt at £400 and managed to secure it, its in great conditon did I pay over the odds or just right? I just didn't feel I could hang about. Steve.
16. Its a shame Aria didn't go for the other finishes with the re-issues like the Paduk or the black...
17. Hi Derrick, Good to hear from you, to be honest I have been toying with getting one for a while - I don't think I appreciated what a unique sound the SB1000 has until it was gone! ;-) I thought I might go for a SB700 as its basically the passive version of the 1000 (so much lighter!) when I spotted this pair on E-Bay, did a deal with the owner and picked them both up for £1200, I thought it was a fair price as SB1000's change hands for 600/700 these days and the 700 aren't far behind and they are almost new, the guy really looked after them from new. Broke his heart to sell them - but as I said he has more to fall back on. I think the SB's are a work of art! (and I know you do too!) All the best mate, Steve.
My word Steve, that SB1000 is a stunner - even nicer than mine How much did these set you back? And what made you return to the SBs after your flirtation with the Jazzes and Sadowsky? How's the Wal hunt going?Found anything yet? Derrick
18. If a Basschatter wants it off E-Bay it goes.....!!!!!
19. I am tempted being an old Sb nut and never owned a fretless model. The problem with Sb's is the ri is now available at £800 meaning the costs of the older rarer models is being affected. Any chance of posting some better pictures on here? the ones on the shop website don't do it justice? Going to have a good think about this one so tempted.....
20. Pm Replied to
PM'd you. Re: a trade option.
21. Cheers Mate, it really is a nice bass and for the money its hard to knock. Bottom of the range or not its made by Status!
Nice Shark you have there - BUMP for a nice bass at bargain money
22. Sunday bump, going on the Bay but first dibs to Basschatters.
23. Looks like a 1979/80 I think the LED light came in sometime during the production run in 1981.
