1. Aria Pro II SB700 in golden oak. This is identical to the SB1000 but the SB700 is a passive bass and lacks the active circuitry. It is a very playable bass and has the neck thru design of the best Aria SB's. On the plus side, it is quite a bit lighter than the SB1000. The bass is a 1981 model and comes complete with signed registration card signed by Johnny Joyce of Gigsville, who used to be the distributors for Aria back in the 80's. The bass will also come with the original shaped hard case. The bass is 29 years old and still plays fantastic with all the original electrics working and original knobs and switch. There are a few small surface marks consistent with a bass of this age and a small ding to the bottom edge of the body but nothing drastic. The frets are a little worn but as I say it is 29 years old. For its age is pretty much mint. The bass is currently stringed with Rotosound unsilked nickel strings. The pictures do not do her justice, she is a very warm golden colour unlike the more plain Oak finishes I have seen in the past. I really want to keep this but cash flow following my recent move up country mean she has to go. I am looking for £500 plus shipping. UK sale only. Cheers for looking. Pictured with her sister who is not for sale...
2. Fair play mate. Hats off to you for such a generous gesture. I have just donated.
I've put my personal bass for sale to help Mick. I'll see if the mods will allow me to post it in the "For sale" section since I'm not going to gain money on it (I'd give away 100% of the sale price).
3. Mick along with Steve Jansen and Richard Barberi made very little from Japan; David Sylvian did very well taking most of the money and plaudits (as per Micks Biog) Lets be honest he has all but vanished from the music scene in the last 25 years. This is so sad as I grew up listening and trying to copy his style, I wonder if his former band mates will have rally round? Wal certainly sold a lot of fretless basses due to him. I have mixed feelings over this, on the one hand you want to help - but thousands of other sufferers get no financial help bar the NHS (and we know how bad that can be) the last I heard Mick had upped sticks abroad a few years back so no doubt the NHS will frown at that too.. So so sad...
4. Pm replied to and early morning bump.
5. Folks, Bought this babe recently from Nick, its a beaut but following my house move this week I need to recoup some funds. (I hope you don't mind me nicking your photos nick) Its a great bass and the only issue with it is a mark under the ashtray but is invisible with tray on. I am looking for what I paid, £350 plus shipping. Steve.
6. Folks, Having just moved homes to Cambridgeshire this week in desperate need of funds for items I had forgotten to buy. So a few basses have to go sadly.... First up for sale is my Fretless Westone Thunder 3 in lovely Walnut finish. The flag ship of the Matsumoko Thunder range from 1986/87. I bought this fairly recently for £425 but probably paid a bit too much so a more realistic £325 for this tonal wonder.
7. Bugger missed out! Hope the buyer enjoys it.... Grrrrr ;-)
8. Final drop as I really need to recoup, £375 plus postage.
9. East Lothian the locale....? This is not Derek Forbes's old Mk 1 is it? ;-)
10. Friday Morning Bump..... Will listen to offers?
11. Price dropped to £400 plus shipping.
12. If I could only win the lottery!
if only it had frets!!
13. Just bought a bass from Nick, top bloke to deal with! Cheers Nick!
14. Forgot to say will listen to sensible offers...
15. Hi, WITHDRAWN Sigh, sadly withdrawn to lack of interest will now go for E-Bay. For Sale is my lovely Westone Thunder 3 Fretless, I think the year of Manufacture was 86/87 it is of course a Matsumoko for those in the know. This was the more powerful reissue model. It has more options than a jet fighter! Lovely Mwwhaa tones and finished in a lovely walnut. She has a few dings and blemishes (Photos show the wort offenders) but she is in great condition for a near 25 year old. These basses were the top of the range of Westones and anyone that remembers the old BBC series Rockschool will recall Henry Thomas regularly playing one. To be honest I just can't get used to an unlined neck. Ok, I am looking for £400 plus Shipping costs. Not really looking for a trade but a lined Fretless of decent quality might tempt me. I have what I think is the original hard case but its frankly not up to much and would prefer to ship in a decent new gigbag. Currently strung with flats. Steve.
16. Sorry mate, I had a feeling this would sell quickly, she really is a beaut.
I knew this wouldn't last, because I nearly bought it
