6. Ok, I am just boxing up one of my favorite basses in my 25 year history of owning 4 stringers of various kinds, and was wondering how many of us regret letting good basses go? the bass in question is a Sandberg California J/M in the most beautiful natural finish, with a range of punchy tones to die for! So why am I selling? I have just purchased x2 old Aria SB's (a 1000 and a 700) in near mint condition and need to recoup the dosh as I am currently 'in between jobs' and guess what on the day I am packing it up for despatch I get a call 15 minutes ago with a job offer - meaning I could have held on to her...............Bugger! Glad about the job but sad to see her go; at least she is going to a fellow basschatter! Anyone out there with similar sad tales of lost loves? I could also go on about my first love Rachel.... but that's another story! lol Steve.
7. Summer of 1984, Westone Thunder 1 Natural bass from my mothers Grattan catalogue for £175, paid it off weekly and played it through my JVC tower system stereo until I bought a Carlsbro 90 Cobra Amp from a place in Barnet all long since gone...
8. Folks, Anyone tried one of the new 2010 Ameican Deluxe Jazzes? love the 70's retro neck with block inlays... Cheers, Steve.
9. I have owned a few Aria SB's and just bought two of E-Bay for just over a grand, they are early eighties models and almost mint, very well looked after and the tone is to die for, just wondered what the reissues were like in comparison?
10. Hi Folks, I have just noticed that the cost of an Aria SB1000ri has dropped from £1600 to £895 looks like sense has finally prevalied! They are lovely basses anyone tried one of the reissue models? Cheers, Steve.
11. Tough one this, I have been in many bands over the last 20 years and the only stress free one was the first one as it was basically made up of school friends so the friendship was their before we played a note. Its always hard to join an existing band, particularly if they are strong friends, if I were you I'd start my own band from scratch - advertise yourself and make sure your the boss from day one! I used to play with a couple of the ex ABC guys (showing my age) and the stories they told of what went on in that band would fair make your hair curl! Stick with it, be patient and you'll be fine!
12. Sold Pending payment, you have a stunning new Bass Phil!
13. Have a bump, Aria made some beautiful basses in the 80's!
14. Would love this, clearly well looked after but that price is too close to a new one for me. You have a lovely bass sir!
15. Good point!
It says sold now and I still read it through !!!
16. I have apologised, I had totally forgotten this ad was even still here. Isn't it amazing how many people are ready to put the boot in! Get a life boys, I apologised for not marking it as sold I guess you are perfect eh? Jez this forum is going downhill, the guy asked me a question about the bass, I apologised and informed him it sold a while ago, not sure why everyone feels its down to them to make sarky comments?
Well why don't you say so in the title of your thread and save us all the time of reading it?
17. Forgot to mention, comes with original Sandberg soft carry case.
