1. Sorry I missed this post, I have a Lakland Duck Dunn that has had a pre amp added via Chandler Guitars, its easily better that my previous American P's. The neck is perfect if you prefer a thinner Jazz neck. They seem to be a bit scarce these day's.
2. from 7 and the ragged tiger - shadows on your side
3. Kool and the gang - Zon
4. Well I now have her and what a beauty. The pre-amp was a real pro job done by chandlers. The tones are amazing and she is also a lovely slapper! A real keeper!
5. I'll wack some pics up on Tuesday once she arrives... Can't wait!
6. My feeling too, I have had a mate who lives close by check it out and he was blown away by the tones and the neck is better than his US Jazz (in his opinion) There's not a mark on it and the battery compartment was very well finished. I have stuck my neck out and bought it, roll on Tuesday - Playtime! Cheers, Steve.
Definitely been upgraded - see the battery box on the back. I'm quite sure all standard models (US and Skyline) are passive.
7. Good Folks of Basschat, I have been after a decent P for a wee while now as a back up to my Fender P deluxe and was toying with a Lakland Duck Dunn. I stumbled across a strange one at Chandler Guitars. It looks like a Dunn (but isn't) it has the Dunn's candy red finish and Jazz type block neck but is active and has 4 controls as opposed to the 2 usual on the Lakland models. I have scoured the web and the Lakland website but cannot find one that matches, the 44-64 seems closest but only has the two controls, is this a custom model or do we think someone has upgraded it? Pics below...
8. Do let me know if the sale does not work out...
Not sure between two - it was either "Crocodiles" by Echo & The Bunnymen or "Ceremony" by New Order/Joy Division - on an Aria Pro II bass c.1980/1
Good call Clarky, must have played the Crocodiles and Heaven up here album to death back in the day.....

13. Bought my eldest lad a Squier P and he loved it, well built with a decent tone and a price that's not going to break the bank.
14. Folks, I have just sold my last bass and intended a year long sabatical to recoup some money after a spell on the Redundancy boat. Working again now so all good but managed to run up some smallish debts with trying to feed and cloth the family so they had to all go. To keep my hand in for the short term was thinking of going for a cheapish bass and have been looking at the OLP's which seem pretty good for under £200 anyone got one, can advise? Steve.
