1. Hi Dave, To be honest I would rather not open her up, she is mint without a mark. I think they were using Lindy's in 2008 but don't hold me to it. Steve.
2. Now on the dreaded E-Bay. £500 No reserve.
3. No worries Dave, I quite understand it's a lot of dosh to shell out to you need to get exactly what your after. I will call Chandlers and see if I can get an answer. I am going to E-bay now though as the fretless I am after will be gone by the weekend. Cheers, Steve.
4. Morning Dave, I am trying to send you a PM but cannot? Hi Dave, The knobs appear to be Volume and three tonal changes, if the three knobs are bottom the bass seems to be passive, moving the switches towards the middle the bass the tone appears to be boosted and active? If I remove the battery the bass is dead regardless of knob positioning. Cheers, Steve.
5. Hi Dave, Nothing back from Chandlers, have just mailed them again but it's looking like E-Bay tonight/tomorrow as I now need to shift fast. Steve.
6. Ok, I have just been offered a Fender P Fretless to buy - I need to sell this baby quite quickly, I will take £500 plus shipping costs, I will be putting on E-Bay tonight as I need to sell by Thursday. Ta, Steve.
7. Hi, To be honest I am not sure what the pre-amp is bar opening her up. I have mailed Chandlers for confirmation. Cheers, Steve.
8. 2008 Duck Dunn With upgraded pre-amp Hi, Despite this being the best P I have owned I am afraid that I need to go back to a fretless for a new project I am now working on. I bought this bass 6 weeks ago from Chandler guitars and it was already upgraded with a pre-amp. It was professionaly done and a better job I have yet to see. The bass is immacualte without a scratch or blemish and the neck is very jazz like. The range of tones is astonishing. The Dunn's seem a bit rare these day's. The bass only comes with a gig bag and thus I would prefer the potential buyer to collect it rather than ship but happy to wrap it fit for a nuclear attack if you require it shipping (at your cost) I am looking at £550 for it. Tradewise: A fretless USA Precision, must be an original Fretless and not a defretted. Anyone who feels a need to trade for a Fretless Wal or Pedulla - no problem ;o) Please PM for Pics..

10. Derek's a top bloke, I nearly bought one of this old Wal's off him a while back and he had the decency to respond to a few questions I asked regarding his set-up for the Sons and Fascination and New Gold Dream Albums. Great to see him back with the Fender P! Anyone seen him playing Colours Fly and Catherine wheel on you tube?
11. Sorry I missed this post, I have a Lakland Duck Dunn that has had a pre amp added via Chandler Guitars, its easily better that my previous American P's. The neck is perfect if you prefer a thinner Jazz neck. They seem to be a bit scarce these day's.
12. from 7 and the ragged tiger - shadows on your side

14. Well I now have her and what a beauty. The pre-amp was a real pro job done by chandlers. The tones are amazing and she is also a lovely slapper! A real keeper!
15. I'll wack some pics up on Tuesday once she arrives... Can't wait!
16. My feeling too, I have had a mate who lives close by check it out and he was blown away by the tones and the neck is better than his US Jazz (in his opinion) There's not a mark on it and the battery compartment was very well finished. I have stuck my neck out and bought it, roll on Tuesday - Playtime! Cheers, Steve.
Definitely been upgraded - see the battery box on the back. I'm quite sure all standard models (US and Skyline) are passive.
17. Good Folks of Basschat, I have been after a decent P for a wee while now as a back up to my Fender P deluxe and was toying with a Lakland Duck Dunn. I stumbled across a strange one at Chandler Guitars. It looks like a Dunn (but isn't) it has the Dunn's candy red finish and Jazz type block neck but is active and has 4 controls as opposed to the 2 usual on the Lakland models. I have scoured the web and the Lakland website but cannot find one that matches, the 44-64 seems closest but only has the two controls, is this a custom model or do we think someone has upgraded it? Pics below...
18. Do let me know if the sale does not work out...
19. Arrgghh missed out again! a real beauty......
20.
Not sure between two - it was either "Crocodiles" by Echo & The Bunnymen or "Ceremony" by New Order/Joy Division - on an Aria Pro II bass c.1980/1
Good call Clarky, must have played the Crocodiles and Heaven up here album to death back in the day.....
