I'm really curious about this too. Unfortunately I had to leave my band a few months ago for personal reasons so I've got nothing upcoming. Which is a shame because I have a Markbass 500w class d head that I could use as a comparison. I spoke with @Ashdown Engineeringlast year when the stubby head was first released and they suggested that it would likely compare to a 150w - 200w solid state amp volume wise. It will need to be pretty dirty though, certainly with gain below 11am there isn't much volume there. I'm hoping to organise a Jam night with some guys from previous bands in the next few weeks so I can test the amp out at some volume. @Mertonmight have some insight, not sure if he has ever gigged that little bastard of his.

Ashdown VS-212 cab 300W 8 ohm NOW WITHDRAWN

New Cab Day I was originally looking for a 15" cab to pair with the Lil' Stubby but this VS-212 popped up on eBay this weekend and the seller let it go for £140. I was seduced by the vintage looks but it actually sounds really great with the head. A bit weighty at 30kg but manageable.

Any nom Barefaced suggestions? I had a Super Compact and didn't get on with it; although I will conceed it was super light and very efficient.

Funnily enough I saw these guys at a local festival today do just that.

A day or so ago in posted in this forum about my New Amp Day, my new Ashdown Little Stubby head. I'm now thinking about getting a new cab to go with it. I currently play through a Markbass 2x10 traveller cabinet but I'm curious to try some 15" cabs with the head and see if I can recreate some of that 60s soul / Motown tone. I've never played through a 15" cab so I'm looking for some recommendations on options to short list. The only real requirement i have is to be able to get it in the back of a Ford Focus hatchback. The Little Stubby is only 30watts so a pretty efficient cab would also be desirable. Easy and obvious choice would be the Markbass Traveller 151p, it would create a neat little 1x15 and 2x10 stack with my existing cab. Lee @ Ashdown recommended the RM 115 evo cabinet as a good pairing. Lighter and more compact than the ABM. The Ashdown ABM 115H Evo IV is a pretty solid cabinet, though from looking at old reviews ion BC it's well thought of. All suggestions welcome, had also toyed with the idea of A custom TKS 15" but harder to try before ordering.

It needs one of those scroll heads, like the old Ampeg basses.

Honesty and trust not important these days ?

I've had buyers on this forum commit to purchasing items I've had for sale with pleads for me to put the item on hold and promising funds to follow soon; predictably to then not hear a sausage from them again. It goes both ways, its annoying but it happens just as much here as it does anywhere. People are people at the end of the day and they're just bass guitars :). -
I've got a RED Sharpie you can borrow to sort that out!! 😀

I've been looking for a more vintage tone than my markbass head was offering and figured an all tube head was going to be the best way to achieve it. I picked this up from this forum for a very reasonable amount, arrived next day in mint condition as far as I can see. Initial impressions are positive, I wonder how it would sound through a 15" cab.

Its, errm, very red isn't it

××Sold×× Sandberg California I VM4 Active Bass (Now £750))

I've not purchased a bass from abroad, but the only time I sent some bass gear to Europe it was lost. Multiple couriers, each one passing the blame to the other. Not sure I'd take the risk with a high end bass.

Selling my Mesa Subway Bass DI-Preamp. I replaced this with a Tech21 Q-Strip as I wanted a Parametric EQ. In excellent condition with the exception that the rubber feet were removed and replaced with Velcro. Unfortunately I can't find the original ones so these will need to be replaced if not being mounted on a pedal board. Price includes insured Royal Mail Special Delivery to UK addresses.

Hi Fellow BC'ers I'm having a clear-out of basses I just don't use anymore. Up for sale here is my Sandberg California I VM4 I purchased this from Basschat a few months ago. It sounds great but I haven't played it much. The bass is in very good condition, the only marks are two slight nicks on the neck, these are on the lower edge and not noticeably when playing. They are so small I couldn't get them to show on a picture. Listing at the same price I paid and including the following extras: Schaller S Locks (the new type) and a Sandberg Gig Bag. Specification - California I Body - 34" Scale - Neck Width @ nut: 40 mm (just under) - Gloss black finish - Rosewood Fingerboard - Sandberg Reverse P and MM Pickups - Sandberg 2 band Active EQ, the treble control becomes a passive tone control when the bass is switched in to passive - Ernie Ball Cobalt Flat Strings; 45.65.80.100 gauge. - Confirmed Weight: 4.3kg Collection preferred or could meet up within reason. No trades please.

Hi Fellow BC'ers I'm having a clear-out of basses I just don't use anymore. Up for sale here is my Mayones 5 String Active Jazz Bass, I did previously list this bass but got cold feet about selling it. That being said I haven't touched it since so it's time for it to go. The listing includes a budget hardcase and Schaller Strap Locks. The bass is in lovely condition, bar a couple of tiny marks to the top edge to the head stock. If I were to keep the bass it I'd look at replacing the pre-amp, when adjusting the bass control you can at times get a popping noise come through. It's only the bass control that this happens on. Specification from my previous listing: - 2016 Model - 34.25" Scale, 24 Frets - Neck Widths: nut: 43.0 mm, XII fret: 65.7 mm, XXIV fret: 77.0 mm - Black Burst with Flamed Maple top, Alder body - Maple finger board with black block inlays - Aguilar 70's voiced Jazz Pickups - 2 band Mayones active EQ - Active / passive toggle switch & dedicated tone control for passive mode - Schaller tuners - Schaller strap locks - Weight 4.85 kg
