  1. Thanks Dave, I just watched the Andertons video on the LT which did cover a number of the FX. I believe the effects and sims are the same but you can use less of them on the stomp.
  2. Howdy Folks, So I'm considering a multi-fx solution to replace my fairly modest pedal board. I never got on with the ZOOM B3 and it's kind of put me off multi effects but the Helix Stomp does seem to get some love here. PMT have a decent black friday offer and I have some money in PayPal from a guitar sale to cover the cost so I want to make a decision on whether to pull the trigger or not and am reaching out for some input from you guys Demos of the Amp/Cab sims on YouTube sound good but I could find much for the effects with a bass. So big question is do the effects work well for Bass? The must have's for me - Octave Down - Env. Filter - Compression - Parametric EQ Would Like to have - Fuzz - Delay - Chorus Nice to have - Analogue synth sounds Thanks PJ
  3. Haha, I'll e-mail him tonight and ask him to lay it out for you :).
  4. Haha don't mention anything. As long as it is fair and equal treatment for all I'm happy(ish). However if you want to take a picture of my bass whilst you are there and send it over that would be cool. Not sure if' Jon's attached the neck but a body and neck shot would be nice to see, even if they are lying next to each other.
  5. The customer returned ABM head seems to be at well priced too. https://www.andertons.co.uk/black-friday-bass/b-stock-npr%3A-ashdown-abm-600-evo-iv-600w-ashdown-bass-magnifier-head-63857
  6. Thanks, would love to give it a whirl but I'm at the wrong end of the country sadly.
  7. @Muzz @mike 110 I'm curious as to your experiences of working with Jon. Muzz, I know you've had a few basses from him. Thus far he's been really helpful and really accommodating with me changing and tweaking specs as we've gone on. On that front he's been super awesome. On the other side sometimes he's super frustrating. For example last week I received this in an email from him: So the next job is the layout of the controls, i’ll do a few mockups of where the controls could be and you can choose your favourite (or suggest one if you prefer). I’ll sort the pics tomorrow! cheers Jon I've responded with a few of the ideas as per my posts in this thread but not a sausage back, and no pics over a week later. This has happened a lot over the past few months and tomorrow typically becomes two to three weeks! I'm really was hoping to get my hands on the bass before christmas but realistically I don't think that's going to happen.
  8. I currently live in Watford is all. Was interesting to see another BCer from here.
  9. There's also the additional factor that this bass is in fact a 40th birthday present from the misses - the stars are aligning around this idea so to speak!
  10. I am an Aries - this could work
  11. Yes, it really is quite unanimous isn't it.
  12. Jon sent me a note last week to say he was going to do some mock ups and send me some examples of control layouts but I haven't received anything as yet. I used a couple of images he had sent me in the past to do an updated photoshop mockup of my to be instrument and played about with some of the control lay out options. I wasn't keen on the typical straight line so that's out but I can't decide between curved or diamond. Curved is probably more practical for on the fly adjustments like Andy suggested but I'm favouring diamond visually.
  13. Have you seen his avator animation. I would be too !!
  14. I bet yours is coming along quicker than mine 😠
  15. I'd quite like to play in a band like this, if it was me I'd take the gig! I liked your tone on the first track, your playing supported the song nicely and I digged that little funky fill at 3:02 - had a bit of a Zender vibe to it. The vocalist is a bit hit and miss in places but I don't think he's a complete mis match, especially on the second track you posted. How long has the band been going ?? Is it fairly new, or been around for ages. If it's fairly new I'd be even more tempted as so much opportunity to grow.
  16. Haha you're probably right about the meaning, I hadn't thought about that just looked at the dates :), but yeah it's a good offer (one of the rare truly good deals). I ended up buying two of his books
  17. Page liked, love the Skeleton's graphic!
  18. Not a Black Friday deal but I just found this code for Joe's website, it gives you 50% off any online purchase BFEARLY I just used it to purchase his 50 Essential Jazz Funk lines. I believe it's valid until 1/1/2020.
  19. This was my guess and he's after the BC seal of approval before committing!!!
  20. Update from Jon is that all the lacquering has been finished; no pictures yet but hopefully they are on there way. Jon's asked me to make a decision on control layout for the East Uni-Pre 4 - now all the J basses I've owned have had the standard Fender straight line configuration so that's an obvious choice but for those following this thread any other favoured setups? A few options from Google J basses The traditional straight line as per this Lakland .. A diamond pattern like this Roscoe.. Or following the Contours of the lower edge like this ACG
