  1. This bass is For Sale only so no Trade offers please. The bass is in fantastic condition having had very little play time before I bought it in 2017 and with me sparingly at home as I have other basses calling for attention too. The price includes UPS insured delivery within UK, ( EU please add £15 )with gigbag and loads of bubble wrap in a strong guitar box. Perfect working order, no wear and super clean. 4.7kg 10lbs 6oz. Just gave frets a polish and oiled the lovely stripy RWood fretboard. Please see extra pics at end. These pickups are very quiet , no hiss or hum as sometimes reported on forums. Serial HMM023105 H=1 M=6 yamaha coding , so 166 means 2016 June manufacture. Zoom in on the Tort guard I made as the bevel is slightly wobbly despite an excellent fit at neck, pickup and control plate. If you don’t want it please tell me. There ‘s an unused black guard included (YamahaMusicLondon). Tiny imperfection on headstock tip but smooth and hardly noticeable and small dink inside lower horn curve. See pics. Selling as I have a BB1024 for passive and another A/P Yamaha so ones got to go, superb as it is. Please fire away with questions or PM me if you wish to have it. I can arrange pickup from me by UPS tomorrow if you get in quick. BB1025X OVERVIEW and Specification Spline Joint BB1025 has employed a 3-piece body structure with which its bridge is placed on the center piece in order to translate the maximum amount of string vibration to the body. Instead of simply gluing wood pieces, we insert a Maple plate, called "Spline", into a slot on its joint sections. By doing that, Yamaha has succeeded in obtaining as much body vibration as a 1-piece body with this 3-piece body structure connected with two splines. Diagonal Body Thru Stringing In Diagonal Body Thru Stringing, strings are angled 45 degree at the saddle to reduce the stress and secure their tension. Moreover, because the attachment area of strings to saddles is larger than conventional vertical stringing, much better transmission of vibration is obtained. Pickups Both front and rear pickups are specially invented for this particular series. Pursuing ultimate passive sound, "Open Face Pickups" are used to cope with even aggressive picking of rock players. 5-Piece Neck These necks consist of Maple and Nato. It provides durability and prevents necks from warping and curling. Nickel Silver Nut Nickel Silver is selected for nut. It is the same material with fret wires. Unlike conventional bone or artificial ivory nut, it gives the same sound quality and feeling even when open notes are played. For any bass players it is a crucial part of well-defined low end. Specification Construction Bolt-On Scale Length 34'' (863.6mm) Fingerboard Rosewood Radius 23 5/8" (600mm) Frets 21 NICKEL SILVER Nut width 43mm Body Alder (Maple spline joints) Neck Maple/ Nato Mahogany 5pcs Bridge Vintage Plus (Brass Saddle, Steel Plate) String spacing at bridge 18mm Pickups Neck: Split Blade (Alnico V), Bridge: Single Blade (Ceramic) Pickup Switch 3 way Toggle Switch Controls Master Volume, Master Tone New Yamaha Black pick guard included, unused. My homemade Tort pick guard included but optional because I’ll be happy to keep it. All the effort ! Serviceable gig bag for protection within strong guitar box for transit. UPS insured delivery included. Please note this bass is in superb condition other than one very small dink inside lower horn, original mini colour imperfection on headstock tip and original small paint imperfection top of body edge which I can’t even capture on photo .These are absolutely minor. It is a beautiful clean bass and has had very limited playing time.
  2. I received Dave’s Lakland Skyline 55-02 Black Sparkle today with excellent gigbag due to his commitment to get it to me safely. Perfectly and sturdily packed , bomb proof, well, TNT proof ! ( They did a good job, no battered corners or holes in the outer box. Absolutely as described by Dave and a fair asking price for such a beautiful bass. Great communication throughout and he was very informative when answering my questions. No faffing around, nice clear advice and he’s obviously totally reliable from the long list of top Feedback here and clearly knowledgable. Very helpful and reassuring video for the For Sale advert too, infact, that’s what clinched the sale for me. Thanks again Dave. Enjoyable and business like. I’ll look out for future offerings for sure. Quent
  3. Hi, I hope you and yours are safe and well there. Thanks for the info so far. Can you tell me the serial number please to confirm year of manufacture. I realise you bought it recently but I’ve bought new were made a while back , all good, just like to know thank you. Cheers, Quent
  4. Forgot to say Figue. I hope you are safe and well there. Best wishes, Quent
  5. Hi there, Just wondering if your TRB 1005J is up for Trade still ? This is a coincidence. I am about to sell my BB1025X , black gloss, rosewood fingerboard in excellent condition and think we could do a straight swap exchange? I have just seen your advert this minute so can get back with more details of my bass later but it was made in June 2016 and has had very little use ( I have one or two basses! ) by me and no signs of wear when I bought it in Feb 2017 so the guy had not had it very long. It’s in perfect working order. I already have a BB1024 which I want to keep and your TRB 1005J would be a better Yamma partner for the BB1024. I need to know more about your bass please. Headstock photos back and front, back of neck and back of body ( not shown in your pics ). What is the serial number / letters please and history past ownership ? It looks in fine condition. Any small marks or defects ( I like to know but will not be a problem ). Working order ? Perfect with No Noisy Controls or Active Hum / Hiss ? What do you think? If it’s available and not too old and perfect working order we could exchange ? ( Not sure HOW !! ). I’ll send photos ( might have a couple already ) tomorrow if you are seriously interested. I have a brand new black pickguard from YamahaLondonMusic to put on. I made my own, took 24 hours! I logged the time over a week. You’ll see it in the photos. Has it a hard case? We could both find a hard case so our basses are protected UK Corsica. Sorry, I only speak English. Cheers, Quent You can check my Feedback if you search Quent in that forum down below Basses for Sale.
  6. Ayup you lot. I just sold my G&L L2500 Blueburst to Quasar79 who is obviously from outer space but says he’s from the Netherlands. Yeah, right. Anyway, he’s a top bloke and all has gone smoothly transaction wise and it was good quick fire communication on the way to make sure we were both happy. So, on that basis I recommend Paul to deal with on Basschat. Wishing you Paul ,and everyone reading this , the best of luck over the coming months. Cheers, Quent
  7. Hi KH ! Hope you’re keeping safe up there. Enjoying your GB75JH but not played much due to spannering my left leg ( sciatic nerve path problem) doing soundproofing work in my loft above the bass room. Anyway, it’s just a leg ! Can walk upstairs but down is dodgy. Yes, it’s a beaut and only selling as replacing with another L2500 Redburst with maple board. You only live once eh !? I have a Blue GL MJ-4 so don’t need two blue ones. That would be silly ! Cheers mate! 🥃 WikiMac on the go here. Quent
  8. Back up for sale again guys after a 24 hour hold. Already reduced twice so a real bargain for this beauty in top nick. Please zoom into photos to verify lack of wear due to occasional use at home only as I have others in my collection. All packed up and ready for a safe UPS insured delivery to you. In near perfect condition and in perfect working order is my beautiful Blueburst example of this awesome Fiver. Delivery within EU and UK not Global. Just reduced price again from £450 which was a fair price for such a legendary bass in this rare top condition , to £395 now to £370 inc Insured UPS Delivery so you will be getting a great bass in better condition than some I have been sent New. Please tap on first photo to bring up enlargements and zoom in. Ignore reflections ( like my foot for instance!). Check out some examples of sounds on Youtube searching G&L L2500. Amazing array of tones available with the two really powerful humbuckers. Quick to change sound with the switches once you dial in your bass and treble. Switch near bridge takes you from Passive to Active to Active with a treble clear boost with one switch. Series or Parallel with the middle switch, then pickup selector switch for Bridge,Both or Neck pup is located nearest to the neck. The bass was made Sept 2011 ( serial 110901974 ) but I bought it New in 2015 from Richards Guitars to join my play at home only collection , the are no signs of wear to frets, fretboard or body because I look after my basses properly and they only get relatively light play time each. You really won’t spot the two tiny ( pinhead sized ) body gloss imperfections just below neck pickup towards lower horn. No thumb position swirls even. Electronics, tuners and truss rod all in perfect order, no noisy controls or switches. Absolutely clean with fretboard oiled last week and frets polished. Set up standard with little neck relief and action approx 2.4 mm B to 1.6 mm E at 12th fret ( held down at first ). 2 Allen keys included safely away from the bass in a bubble wrap I will pack extremely well , double boxed, and the price includes UPS insured delivery which I will arrange so please bear that in mind. Probably move on the advert elsewhere if no sale soon so don’t miss out here. This is a beautiful bass and I’m only selling to replace it with a Redburst/Maple example which is on order. Yep, I’m a huge G&L fan and have more than one. This one is not overly heavy for swamp ash at 4.7kg 10lb 7oz but there’s still some Heft there. Condition is more like 9.9/10 than 9.5 so be assured you’re getting a gem. Specs copied below. Please Private Message me if interested or ask any questions. Paypal payment please. Cheers, Quent The foundation of the L-2500 is a pair of G&L Magnetic Field Design humbuckers backed by the flexible Tri-Tone control system. It will provide the sort of versatility that’ll let you find your tone no matter the genre. The Tri-Tone system features a trio of mini toggles for pickup selection, series/parallel signal routing and active/passive operation, as well as a trio of knobs for volume, treble and bass. Hardware With all that under the hood, Leo gave the L-2500 the kind of chops that’ll fit in any situation, from classic R&B to power-packed rock to poppin’ funk. What’s more, the L-2500 features an innovative Leo Fender-designed Saddle-Lock bridge to transfer string energy right into the body end-grain for an incredibly resonant instrument. The Tribute Series L-2500 delivers the magic of Leo’s revolutionary bass at a price attainable for every working musician. Once you play a G&L Tribute Series, you’ll never look back. Specifications CONSTRUCTION: bolt-on SCALE: 34" PICKUPS: Two Leo Fender-designed G&L MFD humbucking pickups made in Fullerton, California BODY WOOD: Swamp Ash with translucent Blueburst finish NECK WOOD: Hard-Rock Maple w/ Rosewood fingerboard NECK WIDTH AT NUT: 1 3/4" NECK RADIUS: 12" NECK PROFILE: medium C FRETS: 21 medium jumbo, nickel TUNING KEYS: Traditional open-back BRIDGE: Leo Fender-designed G&L Saddle-Lock Through Body. D’Addario Nickel round wound 130-45 strung through the body A few random reflections from the bright window I notice on these pics. There are absolutely no dinks or scratches on the bass just the two mini pinhead pits in the gloss about 2cm below neck pup and another just 5cm toward lower horn. Damn those reflections ! 🙄
  9. Just bought a Cort GB75 JH from very helpful Keir up in Scotland. Bass arrived today safe and sound due to superb double box packaging and usual reliable UPS delivery. Keir’s photos of the bass were excellent and he gave me all the info I needed. Payment was easy via BACS, no problem at all. Thanks again Keir for making it a very smooth purchase and I recommend Basschatters to buy from you with confidence. Good luck with the band. Cheers, Quent.

Bought my first Basschat bass , a Warwick Dirty Blonde 4 Ltd Ed 2006, from Bassman666 Charlie this week. My sincere thanks again to you Charlie and I recommend you to all Basschatters and visitors to the site. Oh and thanks to Mudup ? for the message helping me to find how to PM for the first time. 12. Hi, Yeh, sorry, not bought off Basschat so I need help with procedures. I hope this is a PM ? Not sure! Thanks for the info. That’s fine. 13. Hi Bassman, I’m interested to buy your bass. I can see it’s clean and well looked after but can you tell me about the neck please? Looks like maple but what is the fingerboard wood? The birds are proper inlays? I’ve not bought off Basschat before. I’ve been registered a few months now. How do I go about paying ? Paypal? can we go halves on postage with insurance to make a quick sale and presumably there’s a pucker hardcase and Certs as it’s a Ltd Ed beauty? UPS best I find, by miles. Say 930 all in ? Thanks in advance for your answers and I can then confirm unless there are complications re paying or whatever. I presume you would pack and box properly as any bass should be? Please assure me ! I twitchy about damaged basses. Many thanks, Quent Richardson , Ipswich ( Yeh, tell me about it ! )
  14. Hi Iconic, Re Jan 11th 2013 thread when you had an unused Yamaha black pickguard and control plate for a BB1024X. Have you still got them both ? A long shot I know but that’s exactly what I need to mod my BB1024 ( Made in 2010 ). The Pickguard will drop in but can you confirm the control plate will just screw in place? I’m not sure if the body is routed underneath the plate of an X model. Cheers, Quent
