So am I EJ ! I might keep it ! ( 😄 ) You guys are right of course ( thanks ) these are terrific basses for build and the sheer excellence of tone and with the punch too. I’m a big fan of active EQs but when the tone pot is this effective it brings out the best from the Yamaha passive pups which have more than enough output. -

Hi all. Up for grabs is my near perfect Yamaha BB1024 in a sweet glossy finish which shows off the beautiful grain on it’s body. Only weighs 4.1kg 9lbs 1oz. Selling to make room for an incoming heavier ........BB1024! Different colour. You only live once. Everyone should have one or at least try one of these outstanding passive basses which have very powerful clear PJ pickups with Vol , 3 way pickup switch and a tone pot which gives a huge range of tones. Loads of good demos on Youtube. Serial No HQM193022 so it was made in June 2010 but has obviously not had much play (see close ups of frets ). I’ve owned it since 2017 and taken good care of it so it’s super clean and set up ready to play and had a full fretboard oil last year and a lesser oiling/ clean last week when I gave the frets a farewell polish. The photos make the board look a bit dry in places but it isn’t. Lovely subtle striped rosewood, see pics. 40mm nickel silver nut , as per fret material. Has a set of DR Lo Beams from last summer strung through body ( see 45 deg loading and special shaped / reversible brass saddles on the steel plate ). No case with this but don’t worry I’ll pack and pad very well in a coffin type bass box and pad that inside a large outer bass box. Super comfortable satin finish neck but a nice gloss on the headstock face. The only superficial imperfections are just that, there’s no damage at all to the bass and all electronics work perfectly. One tiny dink rear of body shown with Biro but it’s on a darker grain line , not even worth a drop fill. Headstock edge on shoulder near E tuner has two small dark spots within the grain by the looks. Not photographable ( I tried) are very faint signs from playing ( not swirls, more like squiggles ) below G string , twixt P pup and neck, just below, still a full gloss finish. That’s all. She’s a beauty. Good luck trying to get it and I can include a black pickguard I got from Yamaha in London which looks great to me just stuck on with those gummy removable sticker dots ( can include a few) so let me know if you want that too. ( see one pic ). All the best and enjoy the Great Jail Break on April 12th ! 🍻 😃 Yamaha BB1024 Specs Construction Bolt-On Scale Length 34'' (863.6mm) Fingerboard Rosewood Radius 10" (250mm) Frets 21 Medium - Nickel Silver Nut 40mm - Nickel Silver Neck 56.3mm at 12th fret. Body Alder 3 piece with Maple Spline Joints. Neck - 5 piece Maple/ Nato ( mahogany) Bridge Vintage Plus ( Steel plate, Angled Brass Saddles for point string contact but reversible for normal saddle top contact if preferred.) 45 degree Through Body stringing. String spacing at bridge 19mm. Pickups Neck: Split Blade (Alnico V), Bridge: Single Blade (Ceramic) Pickup Switch 3 position Toggle Switch, Bridge / Both / Neck Controls Master Volume, Powerful Master Tone. Spline Jointed 3-Piece Body: Three-piece bodies are joined together using spline joints between the center and side slabs. Made of hard maple the splines deliver richer body resonance that comes close to that of a one-piece body.

Spector Tonepump 9v preamp with built in Gain Trim Pot. Vol Vol Bass Treble . Bass and Treble pots included and original Spector knobs x4 if you want them. Very little use as it was removed from the 2017 Spector Euro LX I bought recently on this site and replaced after about a year by the previous owner who included it with my bass. It’s in Excellent condition as a result but , for clarity ,as I haven’t seen it in action I’ll be happy for you to return it if you have any problems whatsoever and at my cost to return it. Works with Active or Passive pickups but read the diagram for the different Volume Pot K values required for each. £70 includes UK signed for Delivery. The Tonepump ( from all I have read) Gain Trim Pot can be adjusted ( rotated ) to a massive gain level but consensus shows that the central 50% setting is the best starting point. The Treb and Bass are both Cut and Boost. No centre detent on the pots. Treb takes the black and yellow pair of wires, 100K (A) pot. Bass pot 10K (C) takes the green and purple with black to back of pot. Please see my photos which agree with other photos with this combo of wire colours. The black and white pair at the end of the preamp are for the nearest pickup. You can see from the diagram that the first 3 wires at the other end of the unit go to Battery , Jack and Ring. No other diagrams available with this exact wire colour combo that I can find. The smudgy mark on the unit casing is just the remains of the adhesive pad it was originally secured with in the rear cavity. Thought best to leave it as it didn’t want to be peeled off easily. If you have any questions ( Non Technical! ) please ask. A quick Google search ( then click Images Tab at the Top) will bring up lots of other images of the wiring. The 7 photos on piece of card are of my Tonepump. I’ve added a couple of others from Google with the same wire colours in case it assures you. Meanwhile I hope you are well there. Best of luck. Quent

Up for grabs are these excellent Audio Technica ATH-M50X Gun Metal Silver/Grey colour (GM) finish headies which are great for bass giving a neutral in my opinion and coping fine when your EQ is cranked up whether Bass Mids or Treble. I have very big ears , not wanting to blow my own trumpet of course! My flappers don’t quite snuggle easily into the ear pads and although the pads are comfy you need to get things just right. Fine as on ear if you like that. At GAK going at £115 now and all the Specs are there if you quick search , sorry, tried to copy and paste just now but it’s not pasting for some reason? . My £75 includes UK delivery. I’ll pad around the good box shown too. Also Search on audio-technica.com for “ ATH-M50X headphones “ , for some reason I my Copy Paste of the link isn’t working on here. Note the two adapters, one screw fit one push in and that fact the one cable end to the phones is a twist lock secure design so you need to get that right when you first use them. From Earole center to earole centre my noggin measures 17 inch , 43cm over the top with a tape and there’s an inch or two more adjustment with the band so these will fit a massive nut. They’d fit me if I wasn’t picky about the over ear factor. Maybe cos I wear specs, pressure points and all that. Anyway, I got these 2 years ago , they haven’t seen the light of day since apart from a couple of test sessions so they are Brand Spanking, if you like that kind of thing. 🤭 Thought of giving as a gift or selling locally but never got round to it. As I said, these are in Perfect Condition so you’re saving £45/50 quid on gak price as I’m paying for delivery. Better PM me quick then ! Hope you guys are well and not too troubled by Covid situation but I know a lot are. All the best to you and yours. Cheers. Quent

My god! That Corvette in “maroon sparkle” or what ever. Delicious and my fantasy car ever since I had 2 of them....... ......bought for me for my 10th ( I think birthday ), Corgis that is! It was the previous model with the bar down the middle of the rear window. Still got one of them in a box in the loft. I’ll have to get them out. A bit battered since my Dad let my nephew play with them !! Grrrrrrr! Even gave him some so I discovered when stock taking many years later. Anyway, end of rant and Plus One here for Maruszczyk basses I have 2 but maybe another day to enthuse. An Absolution 5a , Haeusel ? and Glokenclang and an Elwood 5a X24 XR3 Corvette.......but not Stingray........confusing in later life init ?!! Delano pockups and Pre. Different palates of sound, both very “rich” but with a broader range of you need it due to excellent Pres. Ah, both great in Passive too. Both from Gornymusic in, errrrr, Switzerland. Check the site.....gornymusic.summut. Bartek ? the owner was massively helpful on the phone 3 years ago when I got them both together. Pics are by Bartek of my actual basses. I wouldn’t be able to better them. Keep safe , Quent

I can highly recommend John as a Basschatter to buy your next bass from. Great communication with quick and clear responses to sort any of my questions. Very fairly priced bass Exactly as described including pro fitted pre amp so you can rely on John. A bit of banter helped the deal and delivery palaver go smoothly. Enjoyed it mate , so thanks again for your help and excellent packing. Cheers and good luck. Quent

Hi Andy, that’s fine to use my Sire V7 description, no probs. Great price here with delivery you guys and it’s in really great nick as per photos and a beautiful bass. I was so impressed I got a P7 as couldn’t justify having 2 fretted Sires. (Though I do have a white V7 fretless fiver ! Gorgeous too.) Cheers, Quent

Hi everyone, Hope you’re all keeping well. Selling my perfect 2018 Sire V7 First Gen Marcus Miller 5 String due to lack of playing time on it mainly due to my Sire P7 fiver and Sire V7 5 fretless ( amongst other tasty bass distractions). Bought this new Dec 2018 and it has a 6 month old set of D’Addario nickel roundwounds on it. The allen keys are included and Free UK delivery and it really is in Mint Condition . Alder Body, dark rosewood fretboard with a lovely ivory binding to it. Perfect working order too. Neck set almost straight B is 2mm off 12th fret ( fretted at 1st ) and G 1.6 ish and there’s plenty of play either way left for the saddle heights for you to adjust. 9lbs 15oz, 4.5kg. OK for a Fiver but not lightweight. Gave it a polish and just a little Nomad A1 fretboard oil today ( a clean really, I oiled it fully in July) and only a quick fret polishing needed for them to shine so it will get to you sparkling. Great basses these in passive or active and the Tone control actually works whilst in Active so with the Mids having a frequency sweep control as well you’re spoilt for choice. No swirling on the bass anywhere , no dents or owt, no nuffink! Not even a case! It didn’t come with one. I’ll pack it in it’s Marcus Miller box and that will be inside a larger box well padded. Couldn’t fault it when it arrived and that’s how it still is. Enjoy the pics. Notice the nice wavy maple grain on the neck towards the body. I like it anyway. Here are the Specs and photos. PM me to buy it, very fair Black Wednesday price is £325 with free UK delivery so I’ll wait for that thank you because it’s Mint. Cheers all and I sincerely wish you well. Quent. Specifications: Body Material – North American Alder Weight - 9lb 15oz / 4.5kg Typical for a 5 String but no lightweight. Hi guys, I have recently replaced the full Pre Amp system in my Warwick Thumb 4 Dirty Blonde Ltd Ed 2006 so the old one is up for grabs. Bought the bass on Basschat a year ago ( Dec). 3 Pots Push Pull ( Pre amp or Not ) on the dual Vol/Blend 500k, Mids 100k pot, then Dual Treb Bass 100k each with pull up for MM single coil Although the pre amp works fine and is Silent when not engaged ( Push Pull) I thought it a bit too hissy when the Pre Amp is engaged ( MEC Gold label Active pickups P and MM ) but I’ve since found out that is actually normal on some basses ( even though I have a few basses I must have been lucky re active noise ) so a Noise Gate is all that’s needed to keep the bass at bay when not playing. The new replacement is identical apart from a couple of part number changes on circuit diagram as you’ll see below. So my brand spanking new MEC M60057 one from Warwick and Pro fitted has the same lively hiss when engaged but at least I have a future proofed system in my lovely bass. I’m no Techy so please check out the diagrams and photos and PM me if you’re interested. Check my Feedback and I have been using this Preamp in the bass for nearly a year so it’s working as it should ( to quote my Luthier). Luthier Steve said the Jack Socket is the only thing that has an issue, the jack will be slightly loose in it but I used it for a year and had no problem. Steve removed the preamp with a resale in mind for me so the leads are all there and there are some plug in type connections. No knobs as they’re on my bass. That’s all I know so don’t ask me about compatibility as I had a like for like replacement. Cheers fellas and I hope you’re keeping safe. ( The Vaccines sounds familiar as a band name ). All the best. Quent

Just bought a 2002 ESP LTD Dlx J-1004 from Michael at a good price especially considering theJohn East Uni Pre mod, metal nut and Detuner. Well packed and quickly despatched with great comms. Friendly and very good of Mike to honour the Detuner offered, much appreciated. Thanks again and WIELD that Bass man !! Quent

I thoroughly recommend Nick aka GrammeFriday for a friendly and smooth sale with a fair price. Great packaging too and prompt delivery booking and despatch as soon as I paid. Yeh, that was the only blot on his copybook, he made me PAY for the bass! Oh well. Despite his tears as he told me of his farewells to his stunning Fender Am Performer PJ in a body hugging mid blue satin number ( the bass, not Nick, though that’s his business ) he deemed me enthusiastic enough to appreciate his now former lover, I mean bass. Thanks again Nick and I’ll look out for your future offerings. Keep safe you lot. Quent

Just handed over my bass to Pat aka Patrikmarky via a guitar stand outside the house for social distancing. Dead easy sale made simple by Pat’s no nonsense comms. Pronto payment once he decided to go for it and kept me informed. Some people don’t and leave you hangin but not this Bass Dude from Narfak ! Thanks again mate and rock that Fender for me as I go deaf with home playing instead ! Yeeharr! Good luck with your gigs when they restart. Cheers, Quent

Hi Mr Wielder, Can you tell me the nut width and year of manufacture please? Thinking of a straight swap with my 2016 Fender Deluxe Active Jazz V MIM which is currently up for sale at £595 page 3+ to 4 as I write Sunday 10th May. Reduced from £725 initially so fair to you to suggest a straight swap I reckon. I now have an American Elite Jazz V hence me selling or trading for something pretty different. Cheers, Quent Oh, I can remove the sticker blocks of course and would clean the board , they flip off cleanly though they absolutely stay put and don’t affect playability at all. Mine comes with a Fender gig bag. Can you include similar with yours?
