I notice that lots of bass players wear hats on stage - there have been threads on here about it before. Why? Is it to hide a bald spot, or does it improve your bass technique / add irresistible sex-appeal / keep your head warm / other? Do I need to acquire a hat, and what would you recommend? Wash yo' mouf out Al Krow! A bass guitar has four strings, no more, no less. Anything else is an abomination & an affront to the natural order of things. *re. Your later point - bass players were given 4 fingers and a thumb on each hand. The thumb is for anchoring! So there! 😛

These people move to an area because of the culture & atmosphere - live music venues are a big part of this. Then they complain because of the noise from a live music venue. They should be strung up by their, erm, fingernails. Night & Day in Manchester had a similar problem with some moaning git, & the council got involved. It looked like they were going to have to close, but it seems something was worked out & there's still live music on. Drives me mad!
