1. New forum rules state you need to put a price on what you are selling. Nice basses best of luck with your sale.
2. Hi, whats the action like? does it buzz much when the action is low? cheers Kev
3.
It is heavy alright, but not a great deal of difference between it and my Jazz Bass. Had an Ash 5 string 'vette previously which was a featherweight compared to this. Nice bass though loving it
I find that the bubinga corvette has a tighter harsher sound than the ash version.
4.
Damn right it was Nice trip to norf landan and all picked up, Tried it out tonight and it's a winner, thanks again. Oh and nice car Dave
I found my bubinga corvette to be the heaviest bass Ive ever owned, hows yours?
5. Ok so it has a fender pup, and fender bridge and tuners, but still thats a big asking price. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1962-P-BASS-kay-mod-...=item2c5439dbcf The first part of the auction description seems to have been pulled from this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-1960s-Kay-Pr...=item2c53f7c580
6. Too colourful for me, but I do like it just not enough to hit the buy it now. At 150 quid might be worth a punt for someone here, Im thinking Waynepunkdude in particular http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hutchins-Thunderbolt...=item3cac7f042e
7. Told you this would be a short lived affair
8. Hello folks, selling a good as new(supprisingly good sounding) OLP stingray pup with lots of wire left on it, nice and cheap at 10 quid posted?
9. Never heard a bad word said against BTB basses, looks very nice.
10. That is really nice, looks like a boutique custom build.
11. I think it looks alright, would look quite good with a lick of paint on it and the hardware back on it. It'll probably go for cheap too. I might go for it if I were feeling the urge to have a go at a bitsa build, then I could play it in front of people and think to myself "yeah this is a vintage fender and none of you have the slightest idea"
12.
As new Cort C5H for trade. Fantastic array of sounds from 2 humbuckers with 2 band active EQ,pup blend knob and push pull active passive on the vol. Mid boost micro switch. Mahogany body in Pearl White with abalone binding;wenge neck.Lightweight tuners. In return,I'd like a Precision;preferably a Sting model but any will do.Jap or Mex,not Squier thanks. More pics in Gear Porn, under Cort red handed
That looks nice
13. I bet this sells quickly! I had a Corvette bubinga myself but one with an ovangkol neck and it got the most compliments in terms of sound than any other bass that I have owned, including stingrays, USA jazzers and precisions. Whoever buys this will get a cracking bass at a nice price!
14. Then you might want to check out this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GB-Spitfire-Custom-4...=item1e5b9566d4
15.
Well look at it this way their crappy ad just got you to post on a forum and bring his auction to the attention to folk who wouldn't necessarily be searching for a collection only hondo . and at the end of the day more info is only ask the seller a question away. By doing a little bit of work probably as much effort as it took to post this thread you could have asked the seller for more info. Meanwhile armed with this info you could get a bargain as everyone else that can't be arsed has walked on by. In short you've done them a favour by posting it here and they could have possibly done you a favour by having an ad that everyone else would pass by. Also not every collection only auction is collection only. Some will post if you ask nicely before the auction end.
Im not interested in buying this or bidding for it or asking the seller questions about this bass. I was pointing out that I thought it was a poor ebay ad which I still believe it to be and find little point in posting a for sale ad and putting hardly any info in it. Personally I wouldnt buy from someone who would put so little info on an ebay auction but thats just me. If Ive bought this to the attention of a bass chatter who ends up with a bargain, thats fine by me.
16.
What dyou mean
Theres no info on it apart from its Hondo and its red, I never understand why people would pay to have an ad on ebay and not put any info in it at all, doesnt tell you if theres any marks or dints, any issues with electrics or the neck, what the frets are like, whats original what isnt etc
17. seriously why would you even bother? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hondo-830-deluxe-bas...=item1c11ee35dd
18.
Bump for added pics
I like this, if its still here in a weeks time you'll most likely get a pm from me
19. Hello folks just thought I'd link you to my ebay auctions should any of you care to bid or buy, I've knocked down the price of the pup by a fiver to 15 quid. cheers folks http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT
20.
Absolutely... well maybe! However, the CT Streamer will retain a reasonable amount of its value whereas a Spector Legend with LEDs and an after-market paint job is still just a Spector Legend. Do you see where I'm coming from and I'm not trying to compare Warwick with Spector just the reality check that 'sometimes' what you do to a bass after you buy it can have little impact on its later value.
Yeah I see where you are coming from, but I suppose it all depends on whether someone is willing and has the 2 grand to shell out on a streamer CT or if they'd rather buy a spector legend, throw 3- 400 quid at it and lose that money spent modding it when selling it on. Personally I'd have probbably had it done if its what I wanted, I imagine the guy just wanted a streamer CT alike and prob didnt think he'd be selling it on at a later date. I quite like what he's done though, you too can look like sam rivers on a budget
21.
I'm not knocking Spector or that bass but the owner must have been off his t*ts when he decided to have that done! Each to his own I know but for what he must have paid to have it chromed and LED'd, the cost of the work on what is essentially a mid-level bass will never get recouped.
Even after the LED work and having it chromed i bet it still came out much cheaper than a warwick streamer CT, which I imagine is what inspired him to do it
22.
Considering this thread is 3 years old, I strongly doubt you'll get a trade on this
plus the one
23.
Thats a horrific asking price. They're less than a quarter of that price usually.
Really? its that over inflated?! stone me! Well perhaps I wouldnt be buying that one after all
24. Im not currently in a gigging band so a cheapy bass does me just fine for playing at home or the occasional studio jam with mates, however if I were to start gigging again then this bass would be the one I'd be purchasing right now, bit overpriced maybe? But what a looker http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RARE-Vintage-1978-OV...=item4a9ffea3ba
