OLP Porn

I had one of these before in the same colour and I put a kent armstrong pickup in it but sold it on. I started to miss playing it as it had a nice thick chunky neck and was well built so I thought sod it and got this one off the bay, got it for 127 quid not bad considering its in top nick, I think it helped it was listed as an OPL bass and not OLP. I put in a bid of 130 quid thinking I wouldnt get it but I did! Im going to leave the original pickup in it this time (there wasnt much difference between the stock pup and the kent armstrong) unless I get a genuine ray pup I can install. I think I'm going to have it converted to fretless, Ive been wanting a fretless for a while but nothing really took my fancy. Anyways heres some pics-

  9.
Nah. I expect he just thought this particular piece of early 70s, rare, never-seen-in-the-UK JapCrap was some cheap rubbish for him to f@ck up. Such a pity! J.
Might be worth getting it and taking that fur off and if the finish is sh*te stripping it down?
  10.
Not furry nice IMO.
I do wonder what all that fur is covering up, like a bad paint job underneath or damaged wood.
  11. You get one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ARIA-DIAMOND-VINTAGE...=item20b5390034 Loving the nipple tassels on the tuning pegs too!
  12.
After seeing GW's Tweed Fender gig bag, i decided id like one myself. Where is the best place to buy one to fit my Squire CVJ ?
One on eBay at 40 quid. 13.
Epiphone EB-0 for a P copy of some sort? I experimented with shortscale during a lull in my bass love but could now do with a cheap full scale P as a back up. Collection / meet halfway only because postage is a hassle. It's in very good condition with only light bedroom use although IIRC it has a couple of small marks but nothing to write home about. Here is a short demonstration of my lack of playing ability. Best listened to through decent speakers of course because it sounds like an angry wasp through my laptop but sounds exactly how you would expect in real life. Just a thought...I could be tempted by a wireless system too. Maybe. EDIT: I'm in Hemel Hempstead by the way!
Some quality guitar shop style noodling there sir!
  14.
Indeed, when I offered my Alembic for trade I held off for a good few days before offering the sale price. However, I think this item would typically be worth around £750 looking at what the other ones have sold for (and this is the price vmaxblues listed for his beautiful blue minter).
I've always wanted one of these, gorgeous instruments.
  15.
I understand that Kev but in my experience here, this rule; 5. You must state a price for your item. Anything without a price clearly stated will be subject to removal. has been enforced quite stringently, so I thought it best to give a friendly suggestion to the seller before someone does it in a less friendly, more direct way. I believe this is to be regarded as a Sales forum rather than Trades. Anyway, good luck to the seller....if there were I price I'd consider making a cash offer- nothing really to trade right now.
That's not how I understand it, I thought you have to put a price on something if you're selling it, i.e you can't say make me an offer in terms of money you need to state a price, but if you're looking to just trade a bass for another bass then you wouldn't state a price because you aren't selling, you're trading.
  16.
Very nice - do you have a for sale price? I think the forum rules require it. Superb looking bass! I love BB.
Only if it is a sale, this is a trade.

  21.
Cheers Kevin! I learnt from missing out on your Nordy's previously, not sure whether to laugh or cry at current - exciting all the same!
Nice one mate, if it helps think of this bass as an investment and not a purchase, you know you'll always make your money back on it if you decide to move it on
