  1. Yeah I found that, backing either pickups off just a touch alters the sound considerably , then I use the tone knob to dial in what I want further
  2. When I first got my 1998 P bass special, which I bought because I couldn’t resist the candy apple red finish, I didn’t actually like the tone, I’d been playing precisions and jazzes before and this didn’t sound like either with the pickups solo at firs t, but after a fair bit of tweaking you can get very close to a P or a Jazz sound if you want it, I think they just take a bit of time to get used to, it’s by far one of my favourite basses, lots have come and gone but this is going nowhere 🙂
  3. That’s very true, I too have never heard anyone say a bad word about BC
  4. If you fancy a bit of easy listening and nothing too heavy, the album from Kubix is good , track 3 Sunday children is a nice bouncy one ☝️
  5. I noticed that this morning, it wouldn’t load, I thought it was a problem my end
  6. My experience is , it was something I didn’t need but I liked the look of them , and there’s something about glowing valves that’s quite magical, but my ones went back to the shop 3 times for repair , so I’d be prepared for a bit of maintenance and my LB30 needs to go back again, I might just have been unlucky, the markbass tube is a great amp, I would definitely have another, I now use the RM500 and love it , I’ll probably try the Handbox WB100 at some point though 🙂
  7. That’s not far off of something I’d like, would you tag me in if you do a NBD , so I don’t miss it, I’d be really interested how it sounds and plays 🙂
  8. Omg, that’s a beauty, is that an ebony fingerboard too
  9. Cool thanks , and great playing 👍
  10. Sweet tune here from Roland Burrell, don’t think we’ve had this one, I can’t track down who played bass on this
  11. Could be worse, could be a drummer (only kidding Douglas 😁)
  12. They fix with double sided tape, I originally had it on one of my jazzes and it came off with no damage, but I wouldn’t trust that to happen to one with a nitro finish
  13. Very true, and they don’t come up for sale very often either
  14. I’ve got a bassmute fitted on one of my precisions, they are great, easy and quick to click on, but they are expensive, I also use foam, and I’ve never used one but I’ve heard these are good
