1. Very nice! I have the Vanderend JB5 you sold 2 years ago which is about the same vintage as this one - maybe a little older - and it's a fantastically reasonant bass with a very wide tonal pallette, from Marcus Miller super hi-fi to vintage old skool thump. So if this one is anything like mine, then it'll be a cracker! GLWTS
 2.
I can't believe this isn't sold at this giveaway price....
+1
 3.
I'm also working on one or two more NAME bassists to do talks/workshops if poss.....
Thanks Gary!! Fingers crossed...
 4. Quick update on talks etc for the Bash; So, we have Davey Rimmer from Uriah Heep pencilled in for at talk at around 1.30pm/2pm ish. Again, with help from Gary, aka cetera we are pleased to announce that Lee from Andertons is happy to come and do a talk and that's pencilled in for midday. According to Gary, Lee said he 'would love to come and engage us bassists and talk all things bass... what we want from a bass shop, what their plans are etc.... :-)' Sounds pretty good to me! And lastly, luthier Ian Robinson is happy to come along again this year and do set ups and other techy stuff on the day - so please get your bookings in for Ian now! Anyone out there fancy doing a talk on any?? Would still be good to have something on fretless bass, music theory, or something equally engaging and fascinating if anyone's interested and available? Cheers Nik
 5. Cool! It'll be good to see you Pete! Looking forward to seeing that Duesenberg too... 😊
 6.
Oh, they're out there if you look: https://reverb.com/i...-with-cream-pus I seem to be making a habit of missing out on ludicrously underpriced vintage MIJ gems - following this & the £100 Riverhead Unicorn, last night I failed to spot someone selling an early '80s Ibanez Artist (OK, it's just a guitar) on a local FB group for £170. I guess this is what it feels like to lose your touch!
Nice, but pricey!! I know that feeling, John! Comes with age I think...
 7. Bought a Fender string tree from Gary; great transaction and item, from one of Basschat's finest! Cheers Gary 😊
 8. Haven't seen one of these for years; in fact, the only one I ever saw was a German eBay seller about 10 years ago... Fabulous!
 9.
Thats a lovely looking specimen. GLwTS
+1 Great seller too! I bought a bass from Basstardz 2 years ago and he's a good guy to deal with..
 10. Hi Gary I'll take this please - do you want to PM me to make arrangements? Thanks Nik
 11.
At last and someone got a really smart looking bass
+1
 12. Lovely! Very nice with the maple fretboard too... GLWTS
 13. Hi Folks Am currently up in Suffolk with Mrs Silverfoxnik for the Latitude Festival which starts tomorrow. Great line up so it should be a great few days... So, yesterday, we went to have a look round the coastal town of Southwold (very nice, but pricey) and imagine my surprise when walking into the Sue Ryder charity shop here: (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sue+ryder+shop+southwold&oq=sue+ryder+southwold&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0.14163j0j4&client=ms-android-huawei&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8) Only to find one of these for sale: https://reverb.com/uk/item/204780-taylor-ab3-acoustic-bass-maple-spruce Wow - what a beautiful instrument! 😊 I've never seen one or played one before but it really was a work of art. I had a quick look at it and had a very quick play of it too and, apart from being in immaculate condition, it had such a lovely tone! Very resonant and warm sounding and it played so beautifully too.. I had a word with the Shops Manager and she said that all proceeds from the sale of it were going to the shop/charity, so it's being sold for a good cause. I think they are selling it for around the £2k mark, which isn't cheap, but it's probably around the going rate for such a quality instrument. Anyway, I doubt they'll sell it just through the usual footfall that passes through the shop, so I thought a little post here on the forum might help them. Nik
 14. Good to see you on board Trevor! Need to get these numbers up, Folks - any more takers? 😊
 15.
I'm in Birmingham - I gig here a lot, and as Shelly has noted elsewhere, there are often a fair few Basschatters that show up to my gigs. Next one is on July 23rd at Tower Of Song in Birmingham, with drummer Andy Edwards (ex-Robert Plant/Frost*/IQ etc.) and guitar genus Phi Yaan-Zek. hope your bass bash goes well!
Thanks Steve Sounds like an amazing line up btw. .
 16. Very nice! Love those tuners 😊 GLWTS
 17.
How about a talk on In Ear Monitoring by someone in the know? I see quite a few threads on the subject so there might be some interest...?
I've been thinking about this since you first posted the suggestion and have been trying to get my head around how in ear monitoring can be demonstrated to a room full of people?
 18.
How about a cabinet shootout? Brands of 2x10s up against one another etc..? I'm pretty sure it might've been done before, mind you.
We did a cab shoot out 2 years ago run by Lozz which was good.. No harm in doing another one if it's got a different angle to it perhaps?
 19.
What about asking Rhino to chat about his life in the Quo? He's a regular attendee. Or Neil Murray? He's a Basschattter, tho ,I guess mostly it's BC for bass sales The other thought I had, though I don't have personal links to him, was someone like Lol Cottle. He must have a few stories to tell. Or Mo Foster... he's not short of an anecdote.
Good ideas there Trevor.. Rhino attended last year's bash but I think it was the first he'd been to. And I know that Lol Cottle spoke at the Herts Bash about 3 years ago IIRC, so maybe Mick's got a link there we can try? Mo Foster's a good call too - has anyone got any links?
 20. Hi Steve Thanks very much for you message explaining your situation and though we'd love you to be able to join us on the day, we completely understand that it isn't possible for you to do.. Whereabouts are you based by the way? Maybe there's another one of the regional Basschat Bashes taking place nearer to you that you'd like to visit.. All the best, Nik
 21.
Update: Paul's come back to me - unfortunately he can't make it as he's doing a gig in Finland that day.
Thanks for asking and a shame he can't join us.. Next time perhaps? 😊
