  1. Very cool looking bass! πŸ‘ And a cool looking Michael Caine picture too. GLWTS
  2. I had one of these some years ago and it was really good.. The option to blend the valve and the solid state channels, worked really well, and getting a very useable tone out of it quickly in a gig situation was dead easy with the on board eq. It sounded good with both 4 and 5 string basses and was pretty loud IIRC.. GLWTS
  3. Very interested in this @AndyTravis- will PM you.
  4. You're welcome.. It's a really lovely song btw, with some very fine bass playing too...
  5. +1 I keep looking at this, but like you @stewblack, I already have too many amps... It does like like an absolute beast though - albeit a very versatile one, judging from the online sound clips out there. Anyway, GLWTS 😊
  6. Beautiful looking bass @Pow_22! Can't really hear it too clearly in the YouTube clips you mention, but I like the sound of your band.. πŸ‘ GLWTS
  7. Just received a Mono strap from @Owenwhich arrived in record time and is exactly as described. Thanks Owen - it's absolutely perfect for this small humanoid! 😁 And just to say (as this is your Feedback thread after all) I can't recommend Owen to the Basschat community highly enough, so deal with him in absolute confidence... πŸ‘ All the best, Nik
  8. +1 This has been my experience too.. Its so easy to accidentally put a twist into a string when you're putting it on for the first time and, as well as contributing to overtones eyc, if there's a twist, then it makes it almost impossible to intonate the string accurately. I currently have an Xotic XJ1T 5 string bass that's a 34" scale neck and the B string on it is really well defined and is balanced with the other 4 strings in terms of volume and tone. There are no horrible overtones either.
  9. I've had the pleasure of hearing this cab in action, and it sounded great paired with a Mesa Big Block 750 and a passive Yamaha BB bass! For Β£50, it's an absolute bargain IMHO.. GLWTS
  10. Good evening @owen and Happy New Year! Is the Mono strap still available? If so, I'm interested.. Would it be too long for a shorter humanoid like me do you think ? I am 5 ft 6" (on a good day ).. Nik
  11. It's definitely a pre-Lowden model. Fabulous basses btw; I had one briefly in the 90s but i wasn't goid enough to play it!! πŸ˜‚ GLWTS
  12. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š Used to be mine before @PatrickJtook it off my hands. It's a great cab for sure!

  14. Not normally a Staus fan @andyonbass, but both of your Status basses look fantastic, and this one in particular, must be the Basschat bargain of the Xmas season!! GLWTS πŸŽ„πŸ˜Š
  15. ^^^ +1 on this. Couldn't agree more with you Nick! Gareth is one of Basschat's finest, only ever sells quality gear and is an absolute gent to deal with. GLWTS Gareth and hope things improve for you soon.. Nik
  16. Got to use one of these at rehearsals last night and I thought it was a great sounding amp! Plenty of volume paired with the Orange 212 cab, and that was playing with a very loud drummer and two guitarists... In fact, they asked me to turn down.. 😁 As the OP has said, the eq etc is very straightforward to use and to my ears at least, it just sounded really good! GLWTS
  17. Great amps these.. πŸ‘ I've had one now and completely agree with@wateroftyne who rates these amps very highly.. they really are good! I've used mine in rehearsals, at gigs and for recording and in each situation, it's been excellent. And you can't go wrong buying from @Clarkyeither - a Basschat legend and a true gent! GLWTS 😊
  18. Lovely bass.. Great sounding band too! GLWTS
  19. After what feels like the longest running deal I've ever done on Basschat, I've just bought a very nice Boogie BB750 from Jamie, aka @jay-syncro. Have to say that Jamie was a pleasure to deal with throughout; really patient and understanding through all my Covid related delays, and what's more, he's an absolute gent! And.. echoing what The Beedster said many moons ago, Jamie's a really fine player too! Anyway, highly recommended to one and all on Basschat and thanks again Jamie for the amp! Nik πŸ‘πŸ˜Š P. S. Thats a bass and an amp that I now own which were both once owned by you... I can see where this pattern's going.. 😁
  20. If it was the fretless then @Frank Blank, then the term 'Played' might need to be reconsidered, as it's way too flattering! 'Pawed' might be a more accurate description.. πŸ˜¬πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ Nonetheless, it was an absolutely beautiful instrument as I'm sure this one is..
  21. I think I had the pleasure of playing this bass at the South East Bass Bash a few years ago and it was/is an absolute beauty of a bass. It's one of those instruments that, once you pick it up and start playing, you just don't want to put it down! GLWTS πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
