  1. 😃 Full points to you, sir. 👍
  2. Suck it up!! 😃 A new bass is a win, sounds like a good price, play with it then sell it on here for what you paid? 👍
  3. You'll never get this intro...
  4. And very good, too. I'd pay to get in. 👍
  5. Oooo, That looks saucy. 😍
  6. Mine was too! I took him to see them at the CIA (in Cardiff), about 15 years ago. The drummer (and his kit) went upside-down, while I blagged my way on to the balcony, along with the wheelchair dudes and dudettes! 😃
  7. Your house is as big as a block of flats? 😮
  8. Howdy! 😀
  9. And the bloke has rings on his fingers! *shudder* 😬
  10. Girls just wanna have fun! 😀
  11. I know what you mean... but it's doable as long as you've hired a decent engineer, you can produce it yourself. You do have my sympathies... Who'd a though that "Sheep Worrying" was actually a real crime... ?
  12. No no, and yes - but it's good to have one ready, loik.
  13. Trainspotter. 😀 So (back on topic), are you and Skinner going to record your fingerings for this fine quiz that @stewblack has invented? 👍
  14. Aye, never been there, but it must be full of wombats... Anyhoo, where have you been this weekend??
  15. IT was, not I was. 😬
  16. Yup, Bidtamer / Auctionstealer ... It's still going after all these years! I've never needed more than the 'free 2 snipes per month'. (I think it's 2 wins per month now, which is more generous). Look how long I've been on ebay: I can remember when there was only half a page of cars for sale on ebay.uk. And all of this was fields etc. 😃
  17. It was in the ITU for a few days! They don't call me 'Threadkiller Mc4000' for nothing! 😬
  18. Day late and a dollar short, but there's a Workingman's 12 on fleabay at the moment: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SWR-Workingmans-12-Series-Bass-COMBO/173911774239 £300 but the ad' says it's virtually unused, and the seller will send it.
  19. Cheers Neil, One of the few benefits of practice! 😀 It's one of those that needs to be bob on, and I'm not quite there with it yet... quite interesting, when I picked it up the other day - I can't play the main bit across the strings without it sounding rough, so I played it just on the D string... I assume that's how the original was played, but with the addition of a little palm damping. Funky little line, though. 👍
  20. Thanks mate, That's interesting about Geddy and the Grovers. Maybe I don't need to worry about changing them (they stay in tune and don't rattle, so what's not to like!?). You're probably right about the SD pickup, it is a bit mild... it's never had that over-driven sound of the real thing (and it was in there when I bought the bass 2nd hand - and that was nearly 30 years ago!).
  21. I assume the earth would need to be re-attached to somewhere on the bridge? 🙂
  22. For a quick fix - I found some rubber grommet thingys that fit over the mute adjusters. Works for me, because I often use the top adjuster as a palm rest (and for some styles I hook my little finger around the bottom one), and the knurled bare metal was making my hand sore.
  23. Yay! Thanks Johnny. You win first prize -- a visit to Cearnafon castle (as long as it's free to get in!). 😀
