1. Hello folks looking to pick up a cheap but half decent fretless for taking abroad. Saw one of these for £180. Potentially some give on the price. Not clapped eyes on it but apparently in good nick. Is it worth it?
2.
How is that ls2 wired up? Ivery got a b3 on its way and I already have an ms60b so my pedal board will shortly look very similar!
I'm just using the ls2 with 2 basses as an A/B switch. My rick and fretless stingray have considerably different output levels. So the ls2 allows me to modify the volume and have them both plugged in at the same time.
3. Lovely I wish it were a 4 string!
4. The BB1000s and 1200s look great as well thanks for the heads up. Back to obsessively checking out ebay and gumtree!
5. Hi everyone just picked up an 80s BB5000 and am very impressed. Although I don't need any more basses I'm thinking about a similar vintage 4 string. The BB3000 looks like the best option but any info on other models, as they all look quite similar would be appreciated. Also depending on cost I might look at a fretted and a fretless. Any advice on these would be gratefully recieved.
6. I have just bought a BB5000 and I think it is a tremendous bass. Fantastic build quality and sounds amazing. The string spacing is tight though!
7. A bit boring I know but I quite like it!
8.
Next you'll be backing Clapton and Collins....
Lol!
9. Had a jam tonight with it, just completely knocked out monster tone.
10. Just got the bass back from the luthier, what can I say he has done an incredible job the bass looks incredible the partial refin is fantastic. He restored the original electrics (got rid of the blend pot) and sourced some original speed dials. I'm over it. Sounds immense. Gassing for a four string now!
11. Was in me old mum's house and found this old pedal I bought 30 years ago. The output from the wah seems a bit weak but the battery is about twenty years old. Quite chuffed!
12. Have you looked at the zoom MS60B multistomp? It's an amazing thing. Pretty much all the sound sounds of the B3 in a stompbox. I own a B3 and an MS60B. For me the B3 is much easier to use but the MS60B has the option of four pedals in a patch as opposed to the B3's three and is incredibly cheap. My plan is to use them both the MS60B for always on effects and the B3 for all the others.
13. Dunno where you are based but I've been knocked out by the work of a guy in Scotland, George Russell. He is refinishing part of a BB5000 I bought that some mad man had taken a sander to. I've not seen it in the flesh but the pics are dynamite. http://basschat.co.u...85#entry2561985
14. Just saw some pics on the luthiers facebook page and I am completely over the moon! What a job this guy has done not a full refin just matched the colour and smoothed it out. Doing the set up Monday. I can't wait to be honest. I can really recommend this guy, if you are in the Glasgow/West area .... brilliant. 15. Just bought one of those Roland BCB 60 things on the bay of E looks cool.
16. maybe I wouldn't add the minitaur.
17. Hi Chaps anybody recommend a pedal board. I'm currently looking at something that has to be over 70cm wide. Main things will be a B3 and expression pedal, a moog minitaur, a line selector and another pedal (probably an ms60B). Powered would be good and what do you do if you have 9 volt and 12 volt pedals? Just looking for ideas and see what I can pick up second hand without breaking the bank!
18. Well used this at an actual rehearsal it's a wee bit overpowering I really had to bring down the patch level in the total menu. Don't know if this is the best way of doing this but it just seemed pretty full on. In the end it sounded excellent.
19. I'll post a pic when the refin is complete.
20. I know I'm a bit late to the party on this one but I think it's really great. I don't use a lot of effects but the sounds are really usable and I imagine it will be really easy as a live tool. I've noticed lots of discussions about the quality of the effects, I have to say in a live situation who would know. The editing software is a real bonus for me anyway and helps me organise and visualise the settings. I still have the ms60B and will hold on to it. I realise now that I didn't really get the most out of it because I didn't use the edit software. I've noticed lots of links to presets I'm sure there is not a big enough market for it but it would be great if zoom had downloadable preset libraries, even ones you could buy. I occasionally use off the shelf templates for visual effects when I'm in a rush in my day job. A similar thing would be great hear especially for people like me who have limited noodle time.
21.
If you like the amp sim it might sound good going straight into the effects return of your amp, bypassing it's pre-amp. If it has cab sims I would not use these unless you don't use an amp/cab
Cheers Tom I have a streamliner which I like the tone of. I hit the gain button when using my Rickenbacker and switch it off when I use an active bass but it always slightly bugs me that I don't have a footswitch for the gain. So maybe I can use the B3 to give me that bit more, as opposed to having to traipse all the way back to my amp and press a button
22. Thanks for the info guys I'll have a mess around with it tonight and definitely look at the blend functions I've only been able to demo it thru headphones and it seemed a little toppy but hopefully I'll have a go thru my practice rig albeit at low volume. I think the editing software is totally great, I've been quite knocked out by the ease of use. I nabbed an expression pedal on ebay but it's the old style but I'm hoping it still works with the unit.
23. An oldish thread but I just picked up a B3 and have to say after messing with it for a couple of ours I'm pretty impressed. The software is excellent. I just dumped the presets onto to my PC and started with a clean slate but will go through the factory presets to see if there is anything useable. I just wanted something simple I have ms60B and it's great but a wee bit fiddly. The B3 allows me to have a basic tone and two extra stomp boxes. So for fretless I can have compression with the option of some modulation and some delay/reverb by switching the virtual pedals on and off. On the ms60B I would have had to switch to separate patches. I'd be interested in the best set up it seems to have quite a hot signal and I noticed people mentioning blend and output settings both on the individual patches and globally. Any info would be gratefully received. Another question would be are the amp sims primarily for recording or practice? I've never really bothered with them as I have an amp! But they sound quite cool but dunno if it's bad form to use them through an amp in the normal way or if you use the effects loop (in 30 years of playing I have never used an effects loop!
24. Anyone got an idea where I could get a stand for my moog minitaur or a bracket for a mic stand? Cant seem to find anything.
25.
Really???...tell me about your childhood...
It's alright, thanks to theSiberian's quick thinking I've bought one from that other place. I feel much better now.
