1. Really quite small!
2. Has anyone tried any of these? In particular the pipebomb compressor. http://www.joyoaudio.co.uk/JF-312-pipe-bomb-compressor
3.
Hah, small world -- pretty sure the person who sold this is my dad, unless someone else listed the same thing at the same time for the same price
Ha ha small world! He seemed to be a very decent bloke!
4. Don't really know much Nightwish (or in fact any) to be honest, but cheers I'll check them out! Have to say I'm totally digging the GT2, I'm not a big fan of the fuzz but it just seems to give me a bit more grit when I need it. Really quite good!
5.
Forty quid is a total bargain! If you see another one for this, let me know!
The benefits of work related boredom!
6. Cheers sounds Ideal, I just want something slightly different from my always on overdriven sound on my rickie and this could be the thing. I dunno how much these go for but 40 quid seemed quite reasonable.
7.
Yes, I used one of these with bass a couple of years ago. They sound really great live 'n' loud, you can set them up to give you a really nice grindy growl when you dig in, a bit like the Catalinbread SFT. Well worth spending time getting to know this box.
Thanks for the info, I'll try it in anger tonight. People mention low end loss but hopefully can be mitigated with EQ and a bit of blending.

Sansamp GT2

In a moment of extreme boredom at work I succumbed to the lure of gumtree and came across one of these pedals for £40. I noticed a few people had used the GT2 on the bass and the classic and para driver are not really just for bass so I decided to have a punt. Just had a go there through headphones into my ebs microbass' effects loop which allowed me to mix in clean bass. I have to say sounded good to me, a nice tubey overdrive and quite a grind when used in conjunction with the EBS' drive channel. If anyone has tried GT2 and has any tips let me know!
9. Great I've sent a mail to 4114.
10. An old thread I know but are these fdeck clones only battery powered like the original fdeck??
11. Anyone know where I can pick up musicman bass tuners? One of mine has been bent to feck! I reckon it was went it came flying out of the baggage carousel in Dublin!
12. Hi Guys thanks for the replies. Not tourist visas we are 'exceptional aliens' or something! But our employers are stated as the festival organisers. Been a right palaver but hopefully all sorted!
13. One of the guys has sourced some but it's quite expensive.
14. Does anyone have any suggestions for insurance that covers gear and you? I'm playing in the states next week and dunno if yer average travel insurance will work. To all intents and purposes I am an employee of the festival organiser so not sure what insurance I should get.
15. That looks like just the chap I'm after.
16. Can anyone recommend a decent cheap gigbag. I have one of those skb bass safes and need a gig bag for it. Padded is good but if the straps etc are sh*t it's no big deal.
17. I really fancy one of these madbean compressors but unfortunately can't wire a plug. Does anyone build them or is that not the done thing?

Amazing venue
Many old churches are being used as alternative venues but the sound in them is not generally kind to bands so volume is key... Forget any loud acts completely
Completely agree, however, the sound in Cottiers is actually excellent. It's a theatre really and I think it's had work done to sort out acoustics. We had an excellent, top quality PA, which sounded tremendous. There was a horn section a few tracks and low whistle and bouzouki in others and they were clear as a bell!

Amazing venue

The pipe organ has just been renovated, if we had had our wits about us we could have got our keyboard player up there!

Amazing venue

It's Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow. An old converted church, doesn't do many bands.
