1.
Been around since the '80s. I recall a guy giving one a right slapping on Tomorrow's World. A
Holy crap I remember watchin that as a nipper b4 taking up bass and yeh he was givin it a good slappin,on the fretless setting I think! Wander if you could still find it somewhere?
2. Ha ha.I had exactly the same combo, did the usual, tried to slim down, needles to say gone back to 4x10s.It sounded amazing in my front room but in rehearsal I struggled to hear it without it farting out and the first gig,I had to get the old faithfull 1048h and couple it with that(good thing about having a tranny van).It might be just me but the neo/digital is not for me,it just lacked something, but cant knock the weight thing though.Suppose I should of tried a MB extension cab!
3.
I've never had a problem with Bugera. In the last 12 months I've seen a JCM 900, a Peavey 5150 and a Carvin Legacy go up in smoke. Those amps hadn't played half of the gigs or as long as the guitards Bugera when they went. Plus the Bugera sounded a hell of a lot better than most of the other amps it shared the stage with. IMO it shows how much the "ill-informed" are being ripped off by the more respected manufacturers.
+1 Heard the guitar bugera's and they sound great, seriously good value for the money, they have actually gone up in price since when they were first introduced.Thing is there are good and bad amps made by everyone(as in reliability) but saying that second hand is were to put your money.
4. Got a ah500 12,tried a groove tubes and a early 60s mullard in it,like to say I could hear the difference but I would be lying. Our guitarists all use valve amps and one of the guys has boxes full of valves and have only heard a slight difference with those.Suppose if you could throw a switch to cut the different ones in and out there could be a noticeable difference.Frickin hope so,the mullard cost me £35 quid! lol.
5. Dirty little girl with black pussy !!!!!!!!!!
6. Well, thought its time to post some pics, the Neuser cloudburst which is now officially the best bass I have ever owned!(so far).Beautifully curved body to fit round your belly, bit like a warwick but not just top to bottom but front to back too, can,t really capture that in the pics.I also wanted a retro Jazz style bass(nearly completed) which can also deliver a old school or ultra modern sound and is designed to give a little nod and a wink to one of my heroes and the most influential guitarist of all time(in my opinion) I call it the Jimi Jazz hyper bass, lol.Color, lefty neck and strat jack,3d bridge, vintage emg's and 18v bartolini 3 band pre amp with switchable mid,as it happens, exactly the same circuit as the Neuser, but a different sounding beast due to the Neuser has Bart pup's.Any way, take a peak, let me know what you think, might even sell my Bilodeau! (see left)

8. Saw and heard this bass yesterday,it is gorgeous and the sound! Amazing.(Too many strings for me) That was through my ex trace gear with eq set flat too, great harmonic range and a great guy too.Have a well deserved bump for a top bass.
9. Had an sb1000 years ago on loan, excellent quality build, dead parallel neck.Bought an sb700 recently for peanuts and someone painted it blue(Urghhh),pick up not working,so put in an emg and (you will probably curse) and put another one in near the bridge and a decent active circuit what a bass.My number one throw around bass.So big up the sb1000 or its brothers. 10. I have a cloudburst with the same pick ups and electronics,it sounds fantastic and the build quality is amazing with the lowest action I have ever had(no smut intended),so have a neuser bump on me.Frst time I have seen a Neuser on here actually, good look with the sale.Note to self, post pics on gear porn.

14. Dimensions: 24"H x 14.5"W x 14.5"D in old money and yes still got the grill its in great nick, cloth covered, just took it off to get some prospective of 10" speaker to cab size.
15. Yeh your right, did a side by side comparison the night I took the photos. The SWR was more efficient,ie louder with a more lows and highs than my trace 1048h,but the trace all round was slightly smoother.Hence shiftin on the swr and only gettin rid of the 1048 cause got another guitarist on board with another 4x12 so ran out of room in the Tranny, but keepin the 1048h
16. My trace rig at the moment, fookin ell its loud and punchy.1048+1048h+series 6 ah300.With my ratted 1980 sb700 great giggin bass that gets abused but stable as a rock, complete with emgs and active circuit.
17. Pm'd,cheers.
18. BOTH SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Got a couple of cabs for sale, classic trace 1048 series 6 300watt 8 ohm cab(bottom cab in picture) great sound punchy and smooth, black tolex scuffed around edges, not sure on price but looking at thornys listings thinkin around £200 and a SWR mk1 goliath 400watt 8ohm 4x10 this is a tiny cab but with loads of bottom end with rear port and horn attenuator, around £220 ,forgot to take a pic of the grill but its cloth covered in great condition. Can post but their heavy so £40 each.Oh yeh, both on casters BOTH SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
19.
I've been in talks with mike from Iceni guitars about making me a Semi custom built guitar (he had a body and neck lying about) and i just wondered what peoples opinions/ pros & cons are on buying a custom built guitar compared to say a normal high end bass.
I say go for it,at least it will be quite unique rather than a custom bass that is built to say a fender jazz spec? And no I'm not knocking jazz's I own one but why get a high end or luthier built bass when you could buy one off the peg as it were.Mind you I am lucky enough to own a high end Neuser cloudburst and a Luthier built Bilodeau. Both from one man in a shed.
20. Had an sb1000 on loan years ago,was offered a cheap beaten up batwing sb700 last year, fitted a emg 40 an active circuit and bridge pick up,the action is amazing and now a crisp modern sound,my number one throw around giggin bass,a real warhorse. Its like a petrol head with an alfa, everyone should own or play one at one time or another. Its the jap jazz but with better action and build quality.
21. Absolutely love these, yet never played one, another just went yesterday for £420 and his carraige from the U.S was only $80! Gutted!
