  1. I'm still interested in that rosewood neck btw... just in case things have changed...
  2. Sorry, didn't mean to come across as aggressive as that looks reading back =D Just really wanted these exact pups.
  3. ffs, I just bought a pair of pups from a dude on facebook when I got no response to my wanted post on BC. Would've been all over these otherwise. Grrrr...
  4. A precision pun on the fretless sound whether intended or not. Tickled me at least.
  5. I bought a copy of the Pedaltrain (Spider Cases) and was dismayed when I realised my Fuel Tank was too deep... so I improvised. Went to a local hardware shop and got some longer screws and nuts to raise the height of the board just enough to allow space for the PSU. Works a treat! Much cheaper than buying a new PSU too.
  6. Wunjo would put a mark up of a grand on a plectrum though.
  7. Yeah I'm beyond happy with it, otherwise I wouldn't have sold my AVRI. Just wondered if I should have convinced him to go lower. Cheers guys.
  8. Fairly certain it came as natural, plenty of marks on the body to suggest that.
  9. Yeah, will try get some pics. I reckon it has been refretted as some are a little sharp.
  10. Yeah, I know, you're right, and it sounds amazing. Plays great too but just wanted to check =) Thanks all for your wisdom.
  11. Oh, the case isn't an issue, I've got a nice tweed case for it but I did see a very similar bass with a flight case go on ebay for £3 less haha And you can't see the condition from that pic. There are a couple of tiny holes in the fretboard behind a couple of frets and there is a weird depression beneath the A string. Most curious though is a kind of dot pattern on the body in certain lights, like old comics or a Roy Lichtenstein pic. Maybe it's just a mark on the lacquer from storage? My paranoia thought at first "oh my god, this wood finish is printed on, it's a fake!" but that's a bit extreme. Especially as you can see the joins in the wood and the less than smooth neck pocket on the underside is concurrent with other Ps I've seen of the same age and everything looks legit otherwise.
  12. So the saxophonist in 2 of my bands has had a '74 P bass kicking around for years and I bought it (or am slowly buying it) off him. I obviously tried to get it at a steal but in the end we agreed on £1200. I've seen some go for less, I've seen some go for more but it's not in exemplary condition and no hard case. Did I just diddle myself or is that a fair price? Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.
  13. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Precision-Bass-Canadian-Maple-Neck-Bindings-M-o-P-Block-Inlay-s-im-Griffbrett/302647874514?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 Been looking at these for a while but can't find anything about them outside of their ebay feedback. Anyone know if they're any good or am I just as well off getting a cheap and cheerful Kmise one?
  14. I have the biggest ever man crush on Anderson .Paak. If you haven't heard Malibu do yourself a favour.

  16. Yeah, I don't want to sell it really but can't justify having two maple board flat wound Ps. I mean I know I could put different strings on but that's what the PJ is for. Plus, I still owe money for the other =D The build quality on this is FAAAAR superior to my '74 but you know, something about having a bass that precedes me by a decade =)
  17. Trades: will trade for a Gibson Ripper or consider something lesser with cash my way if it's rare and beautiful. Particularly interested in a fretless P. Classic looking basses, nothing pointy or headless and that. Sandbergs too, particularly interested in those. Here is my '57 AVRI. Been my main bass for the best part of a year and has seen a few gigs so has a couple of minor checks in the paint work (pictured) and some buckle rash which is hard to picture. Otherwise excellent condition. Always gets compliments on both sound and looks but I've just come into an actual '74 and I can't justify having two vintage style P basses so, with a heavy heart, this one has to go. Wide but slim neck, extremely playable. Strung with Ernie Ball flats. Can give you a piece of my foam to whack under the ashtray if you want that extra thump (how I usually have it). Comes with a standard fender gig bag and all the original accessories pictured. Cash on collection preferred but can ship to UK in a brand new Fender tweed hard case for an extra £200 if you'd like. If you don't like, I can still buy a case of your choosing and ship to you. Paypal payments to be friends and family or fees added on top for goods and services. Any questions, give us a shout. Spec as follows. Fender American Vintage '57 Precision Bass Features at a Glance: Body: Alder Neck: Maple, C Shape, (Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish) Fingerboard: Rosewood, 7.25" Radius No. of Frets: 20 Vintage Style Pickups: 1 Vintage Precision Bass Split Single-coil Pickup Controls: Volume, Tone Bridge: American Vintage Precision Bass Machine Heads: Vintage-style Reverse Tuning Machines Hardware: Nickel/Chrome Pickguard: Anodized aluminum Scale Length: 34" Width at Nut: 1.75" Synthetic Bone Nut
