  1. Hi folks, I've been powering an HX Stomp from my 1SPOT CS6 for a while using the red and green adapters. Most gigs I only need the HX and one other 9v pedal. The 1SPOT is great but heavy and a bit overkill for 2 pedals. Does anything smaller and lighter power an HX Stomp and one other 9v pedal? Ideally off a standard IEC cable. Fuel Tank perhaps?
  2. Small-ish gig tonight with The Rozzers (Sting & Police Tribute) so just the GR Mini head with SL210.
  3. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  4. Hi mate, this is a long shot I know, but did you manage to sell all of your Aguilar gear? I'm looking for a SL410, can't get one anywhere!
  5. never seen one of these! I haven't really looked at market for years to see what's out there... I had an original ABM mini rig since the age of 18 until I sold it recently. Bought the SVT rig 10 years ago when I started the Police tribute as it what Sting had (ish) so never really shopped around back then either. I like the current mesa subway heads, but even finding them is hard enough! The GR stuff seems like a break though but not sure I trust the construction loading in a van with other heavy gear? It might be possible for cabs to be too light?!
  6. Thanks mate, never seen this zoomed in with the small print under each outlet. Makes sense now. If I'm correct, I can run either the 8 ohm 112av or the 4ohm 212av, or both? It's the 'both bit' I've been uncertain about.
  7. Thanks mate. If I went the V4B route I'd probably look at a 112 too for smaller gigs, but what ohms would be most suitable for owning a 112 and 212 with a V4B?
  8. Hi everyone. I'm looking for help with choosing a new amp and cabs please! I want to be flexible with different cab set ups depending on the size of stage. Scenario is I have an SVT VR head and 8x10 AV, plus a little GK MBS with the extension cab. The SVT is hardly used, as the gigs where it'd be useful are often outdoor festivals or places that are providing backline. More often than not it's an SVT they've hired anyway. I'm also trying to save van space and weight. I do a bit of solo work too (I'm a Sting tribute, so I'm always playing bass even if it's just to backing track) where I take the mini GK rig but it's sometimes underpowered. As I'm lead singing I do need a loud amp I feel, or I'm cluttering my in ears mix with bass. That's where I love the Ampeg, and perhaps nothing moves that much air but... current thoughts are to go lighter and replace everything with Mesa Subway, GR bass or Aguilar SL... I want the flexibility to have one or two cabs at any gig and use the same head for everything. Another question is what ohm cabs are best in this scenario? May even consider a 'medium' Ampeg rig of V4B and a 212SVT as I'd still be able to carry it into solo gigs myself. Thought about an Ampeg 410HLF with my existing VR but it's a lot of weight on your own! Really do like the Aguilar cabs though, perhaps a 210 for small gigs, a 410 for medium and both for bigger stages? Would welcome anyone's thoughts on this little dilemma please! As you can see, I've no idea what to do, on the ohms thing especially. Thanks!
  9. sorry mate didn't see your comment... got no accurate way to weigh it, all I can say is it's as heavy as any other 70s P I've played = heavy!
  10. FOR SALE: 1978 Fender P Bass Fretless w/OHSC Selling my ’78 Fender P Fretless with maple neck, a fantastic instrument; old enough to own some Fender history but not so old you can’t gig it! This is a solid working bass that I bought from the USA about 4 years ago. I’m a Sting tribute act, so this was the nearest I could find to Sting’s fretless from his Police days. I’ve since bought a ‘natural’ ’78 fretless exactly as Sting’s, so this one has to go now. The Mocha finish was seen as undesirable for a long time and was soon discontinued by Fender. Oddly, 70’s Mocha Fenders are slowly becoming more collectable these days, owing to the fact that not many people bought them in the 70’s; they are now effectively rarer. This one was is such good condition, the (rare) maple neck looked barely played. I’ve had a set up done and new flat wounds every year for the last 4 years, its only ever gigged in theatres and been kept in a flightcase, so well cared for. CONDITION: First thing to say is It’s all original, body, neck, hardware, pick ups and covers, pots, thumb rest, pickguard and case. Only thing I replaced was the input jack, (original one is included) quite normal for such an old bass. The pick up covers are missing their screws. Overall condition is very good, the neck almost looks like it just left the factory, perfect. There is some slight ‘bruising’ to the finish around the bridge caused by the outline of the ashtray cover and some pick marks on the top above the knobs (pictured). The volume knob is losing some finish. Only other points to note are a ‘shimmering’ effect on the back of the body (caused by the glue used on the case lining in the 70’s, meaning the guitar has spent most of its 40 years in the case) and the case itself has a broken handle, but really, who keeps a 40 year old instrument in a 40 year old case?! Any issues I’ve tried to capture in the photos. There is an almost identical bass to this (a 1977, in Mocha but without original case) being sold at a well known UK guitar store for £1500. I believe my example is in much better condition, visually and cosmetically at least (I haven’t played the one in London to be fair) so on this basis I’m asking what I’d consider to be a very fair price of £1400 ONO for this. Any questions please ask. Collection from North Yorkshire or I’ll drive reasonable distance to meet. You’re more than welcome to come and give it a try, I’ll make you a brew. Sorry, not looking for trades unless you happen to have a Stingray in natural or a 70's Jazz. Thanks for looking!
