  1. Bit of an update/warning. I am told that accounts like mine are often used to make fraudulent sales in FB Marketplace. Some here are FB chums but I would never sell through that medium. If you see an advert purporting to be me, please report it.
  2. Bank doesn't seem to be affected. I had a Messenger message from a friend. He wanted me to vote for him in an online music competition (he is a musician). He said he'd send a confirmation code to validate my vote. Silly me, fell for it and provided the code. That was, it turns out, the code that enabled them to access my account and change the contact details. It seems only Facebook and Messenger (my bank is fingerprint log on) are affected. I guess you won't get the same thing if you don't use FB or Messenger.
  3. Very true. More annoyed with myself really but so pointless.
  4. HI all My Facebook/Messenger ac counts have been taken over. I received a message from a friend, asking me to vote for him in an online music competition (he's a guitarist). I was asked to repeat a code to verify my vote, that he sent. With that my account was no longer mine. I tried to get it back, but it seems to have been lost. Seriously annoying, and I'm usually pretty on the ball with this stuff. Not so, this time. Just beware folks.
  5. I always say that if you want a bass player who plays like me, I'm the best.
  6. It was a good gig. It is a really nice venue, although there was trepidation on seeing the stairs. Albert is great. Just as agile around the fingerboard and singing very well too.
  7. I'm on a tour with Greg Douglass, the guitar player with Steve Miller. We're at Kinross tonight and tomorrow and travelled up from Hull yesterday. Albert was playing last night and is coming to our gig tonight.
  8. Last night watched Albert Lee in Kinross and he returns the compliment tonight. Actually drove through Biggar to get here. A very nice town. It was a diversion so no ability to arrange to say hi. Would have been good to meet and shake your hand.
  9. I think 'regret' may be too strong a word, but I've tried to get on with a Stingray, but just don't. I think the same could be true of everything bar a good old Precision. I've flirted with most things (even a Ric 4000) but nothing suits me and my playing style like a Precision, a rosewood board Precision too.
  10. That's the retail export scheme that no longer exists.
  11. We're talking buying in the shop and taking away. Don't forget that you can still get hit for import VAT when you arrive at your destination. As I often have to remind people in my day job. You don't avoid VAT. Some will chime in to say they have, but that is down to luck.
  12. No problem Don. Just pleased that you didn't end up with something you couldn't use.
  13. Cannot believe this is still available. That is almost giving it away. I have an Enki case or I'd be all over this.
  14. It would appear the scheme was scrapped and yet to be reintroduced. It looks as though you're stuck with the UK VAT.
  15. Hi I can check that out. Just to confirm, you're not a UK resident?
  16. Available again. A smidge too big for the pedal board it transpires.
  17. Courtesy of Fender. PICKUPS Setting pickups too high can cause a number of unusual occurrences. Depress strings at last fret. Using a 6" (150 mm) ruler, measure the distance from the bottom of the first and fourth strings to top of the pole piece. A good rule of thumb is that the distance should be greatest at the fourth-string neck pickup position and closest at the first-string bridge pickup position. Follow the measurement guidelines from the chart below as starting points. The distance will vary according to the amount of magnetic pull from the pickup. Note: Larger string gauges need wider vibrational allowances. If you have a five-string bass or are using heavier-gauge strings, your measurements must be increased accordingly. 18. Great basses. I love mine. I did think they came with a Lace Sensor pickup as standard.
  19. When the stars want a piece of kit for their stadium tour, they go to Mike Hill Services. What makes them better than you and more deserving of the very best available? I'll tell you what. Nothing. You deserve the same level of quality that they enjoy. Turn the Dog and Duck into your own Wembley Stadium. So. Here it is. A switcher (with a buffered output) that lets you select one of 3 inputs (with level controls on two) and send it to your amp etc. Also features a mute button that allows you to tune silently on stage. 9 volt operation (which self respecting rock god uses batteries?). Join the hallowed ranks of MH client. Names (according to the website) such as Will Young, Take That, Duffy, U2. Plug in one of 3 basses to play Bullet The Blue Sky! In pristine condition (I think I got all the sticky marks off the front - from labels). These retail at £180 so £120 delivered to the UK seems reasonable. Will obviously post to any destination but do be aware of any import/handling charges.
  20. I know I'm pedantic but the listing says "is owned". Turns out to have been in a number of hands since that was true.
  21. Have to agree regarding WH. For all the great female singers there have been, she is top of the list for me too.
  22. Absolutely. It's when things go wrong that you truly learn how good customer service is. I've not experienced either Warwick or Ashdown, but certainly have had stellar service from Mesa Engineering and the Bass Gallery.
