+1 for that. I've got one and it's working a treat, including an hx stomp with a current doubler. All in a very nice quality chassis.. and having it run from a kettle plug is a huge advantage!

I'd go with the HX stomp. But for pure creativity, probably the bass synth wah!

Not sure what the problem is here. Presumably the description is accurate. Value is subjective. If a consumer doesn't think its worth spending 9k on, then it will go unsold. If someone is willing to pay 9k for it, then it must be worth it to them; They know exactly what they're getting.. there's no trickery or scam.

Great update! Especially the dsp usage reduction for the stomp. Never been an issue for bass, but I always found on guitar that I'd run out of dsp when going stereo! This squeezes a wee bit more out it!

I love a bit of compression. Far from an expert, but I just think the bass feels better to play, not necessarily better audio wise! In fact, if I can hear it, then it's too much. Might be talking absolute jibberish but there you go, its my take on it.

as a transparent compressor, don't think there's much wrong with the EBS multicomp!

The pat badger tone on pornograffiti was the tone I aspired to as a wee boy! Simply couldnt get it with the bass and amp I had at the time though!

Here's my new wee setup. I use the stomp for pretty much everything, with the EBS as a light comp going into it- really tames the FX down later in the chain despite it not seeming to do a lot on its own. This goes currently into an SY1 . It's up for sale as it's not the sound I'm looking for - although for more paddy type synths its great, and the tracking is incredible. . I like to keep within one patch on the stomp and basically use the 5 switches as individual stomps. I've also tried to keep it non bass specific so that I can use the same setup on guitar gigs. My 'bass dep' set up is 1:octave 2:filter 3:chorus 4:tuner 5: swell/delay. The dual footswitch and accompanying TRS cable was custom made by my mate big Dan, at Brennan Effects. Underneath is an Harley benton ISO-1AC which happily handles the stomp with a current doubler cable. I chose this as it fits the nano+ almost perfectly- it's tight, and you really need to use the right angled dc cables but works. That leaves 3 x 9v@500ma connectors which is plenty, given the size of the board. It also uses a kettle plug so one less thing to worry about forgetting/breaking as kettle plugs are abundant! I've also stuck a passive DI box under there.. its not plugged in in the photos, but that unused jack patch lead would get plugged into the output of the stomp for bass gigs. I know the HX stomp is balanced and unbalanced but the XLR output is very handy on dep gigs. I've also put wee feet on the nano+ raising it about 0.6cm. That's for the DI box, I think the power bank would fit without them. Still feels good to stomp on it though, and theres no slide. Next job is to make a dc cable with both ends right angle for the sy1, like I've done for the EBS comp.- makes it a little more compact. And I'll probably be trying a c4 next in place of the sy1. Apart from that, this will do everything i need on bass and guitar!

Had many zoom pedals over the years. Always happy with the build quality and, to be honest, the sounds!

Funnily enough, I've recently started to build up a mini pedal board with the stomp central, and I'm running the multicomp 2 knob version instead of a compressor block and I love it! Feels like everything within the stomp is more controlled. Gain is set low though! Something else I'm experimenting with is using no preamp block and just using an ir. Relying on the actual bass to sculpt the tone... and I must say it's working a treat! Also means its another free block to allow more space for fx creativity within a single patch!

I did one for years at a local pub. It wasn't set in stone so we did miss a good few slots. Our repertoire was probably 50% more than a full set so tunes could be rotated plus we would add in the very occasional new tune, but to e honest you can only do a certain amount of rotating.... people love to hear the classics!

I could easily gig with one of those fly rigs, if the preamp was a bit more interesting than a samsamp style pre, and with a cab sim on the di out!

Big stages. It's quite amazing how pub sized amps become small amps on big stages. I've played on a few and a 200-300 watt becomes a practice amp, expecially when the side fill alone can out muscle you!

Cheers for that @paul_5. My worry would be if the sag know got knocked up a bit then it would damage the pedal. Or knocked down and switched the pedal off completely.. probably not the power supply for me! @ossyrocks I've had a good few hb things over the years and be very happy so thats why I've been looking at their stuff for this board build. Buy with confidence I say!

I'm a depper and I've never once been given charts of any sort. Apart from when they do ceilidh. Ceilidh notes are generally just root notes with melody notation, which is easy to follow and busk along. Is your set just full of standard party tunes? If so, a set list plus keys is enough in my experience It's also easy to record your full set even if its just a stereo mix direct out to your mixer. Have it on Google drive and refer the dep to the recording for any weird bits / medleys / unusual tunes you do and that should be it. As others say though, have your set plus some spare, don't give the drp a lost of 90 tunes.

Can anyone answer this question for me please as I can't find the answer. https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_powerplant_iso_3ac_sag_modular.htm Thomann say that output 5 is 12V DC @ 1A, for powering additional DC input PSU's. Is this for quite a specific use that i don't understand or can i run a 12v pedal straight out this output? Also, given that the sag option gives the option to vary the voltage, is this suitable for digital pedals assuming I set the sag to the correct voltage? Woudl i end up with a board of melted plastic and metal if i accidentally turned the V up too high? Thanks

I went and bought it anyway, as @robiredalesays, ill move it on for the price i got it for no doubt, so at worst I'll just have a new toy to play with for a few weeks! Initial thoughts through my audio interface and then headphones. It can definitely do clean, and in the clean channel it doesn't colour the tone of the bass hugely. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing but swapping through IR's definitely colours it in different ways. On the dirty channel... holy moly... this is incredible! Really shouldn't be surprised given that it's geared towards the high gain modern sound, but its truly awesome. Have it as high gain as you want without losing lows. It has so much bite. The pedal to go for, if you want that sound. I still think I've got the wrong pedal tone wise, but the functions of this is exactly what I want. preamp. DI. cab sim. I'll live with it for a few weeks at least, not got a gig to test it properly until October though and I'll not play through a proper amp again this year potentially!

That is very helpful actually much appreciated! Although the more I look into it the more I think it's just not the right pedal for me and I'm inly considering it for convenience..I could have it in my house in about ten minutes! It dies sound excellent I must admit but the ultra gain side of things isn't something I'd use very often, if at all, so I'd probably be better sticking the cash into a different pedal with similar functions, just a different tonal range!
