After the obligatory descant recorder, my next instrument was the piano accordion, I can still hear the family friend who was teaching me (he was an awesome player) saying, “Gimme air!” It was all to easy to forget to ‘drive’ the instrument, whilst concentrating on the bass buttons and keyboard. The only tune I really learnt all the way through was Edelweiss. Fortunately, the guitar came calling not long after and then onto the bass.
