  1. Peter Gabriel’s So has 2 brilliant runs of 3. Red Rain - Sledgehammer -Don't Give Up and then In Your Eyes - Mercy Street - Big Time.
  2. Blowin’ Free - Wishbone Ash
  3. Always happy to contribute to this type of question. My list doesn’t really change that much to be fair: Pino (as always) Tony Levin (again, never leaves the list) Roscoe Beck (one of my biggest influences early on) Bobby Vega (possibly the funkiest man on the planet) Lee Sklar (absolute legend) Dee Murray (just so musical and hugely missed) Chuck Rainey (mainly for his work with Steely Dan, which leads on to…) Walter Becker (often overlooked for his bass work) Danny Thompson (DB tone monster)
  4. The Winner Takes It All - ABBA
  5. Where Have All the Cowboys Gone? - Paula Cole (what a voice!)
  6. Loved her on OGWT and it’s hard choice between her and whispering Bob for my favourite presenter of that show.
  7. Thorn in my Side - Eurythmics
  8. I had an LS2 many, many years ago and I swapped a couple of the jack sockets to facilitate better/easier cable runs. Perhaps this is his solution or maybe he bought my old one
  9. Losing My Religion - REM
  10. Skateaway - Dire Straits
  11. Right now, I’m listening to something a good chum and ex band mate has released.
  12. She’s Hexagon - Hall & Oates
  13. Running With The Pack - Bad Co
  14. Pulling Muscles From A Shell - Squeeze
  15. Anthony Jackson’s Fender hybrid was the ‘Career Girl’.
  16. The Kidneys Are Alright - The Who
  17. For Your Thighs Only - Sheena Easton
  18. I Hate Everything About You - Three Days Grace
  19. Me too - 119cm.
  20. I used to do a number those in my old band. When the keyboardist originally suggested Gold, I was sceptical, but I loved playing it, still do (I play along at home).
  21. I tend to have my strap length to match how the bass sits when I’m sitting (or thereabouts). Fortunately, it seems to be pretty much the same for all my basses, regardless of body shape.
  22. Very good. I find that modes are fine for analysing existing work but, otherwise, I don’t pay them much notice.
