  11. I wouldn’t have thought a few thousandths of an inch would be a particularly big issue. I restrung my Rob Allen 5 string E-C once and it didn’t need any adjustment and there was about a 0.025 difference there (changed it back as I didn’t like it particularly). Try it and see.
  12. Snickers Sally Through The Alley - Robert Palmer
  13. A quick Google search brought up a definition in the first result. It was an extract from an antiques website. It said that, amongst the antique industry, vintage is 40+ years, with antique being 100+. However, if anything, antique dealers' definitions are often what will net them the best price (although antique has always been viewed as 100 years IIRC). Vintage just means of an age, that said, I reckon 40 years is a reasonable definition.
  14. Certainly the case for acoustic instruments, although 24 hours seems excessive. Leave it for an hour if you're concerned at all, then rip away.
  15. I think it depends on the ergonomics of the instrument. My 33" customs (I have 2) feel as long as my standard 34" P. However, my 35" Rob Allen feels much shorter than the numbers suggest. My 30" Mustang feels much longer than my old 30" shorty 'Ray.
  16. And Parc Guell is another Gaudi site well worth a visit, it’s mad as a fish.

  18. Some Delanos can be very clear and articulate (I have them in 2 of my basses for that very reason) dependent on which model you choose. I don’t have them in my P, which are stock Squier’s and growl like crazy, to the point of being rude. It could just be you have the wrong model for your tastes. However, before running off for something else, try running them without the preamp to see if that’s detracting from the sound you’re after (just because the RH had an active circuit, doesn’t necessarily mean you should have one on this bass). I once tried an RH custom shop 5 and it was fabulous, the best thing I’d tried at around that time, both tonally and playability-wise and if I hadn’t left the shop pronto, there would have been a Fender custom shop shaped hole in my bank balance.
  19. I use one of these files and finish with a variety of fine, abrasive papers. https://www.stewmac.com/luthier-tools-and-supplies/types-of-tools/files/fret-end-dressing-file/?&pref_currency=GBP&shipcalc=UK&mtm_source=google&mtm_medium=cpc&mtm_campaign=|+GOO+|+SHOP+|+NBR+|+AllProductsUK&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzsmm1umYhAMV2ZpQBh1D-gZTEAQYASABEgK7HfD_BwE
