  1. I find this for all outdoor gigs on the whole. Ones I’ve done in the past all seem a bit removed from the audience and them from you I guess. Still, if it gets you out playing, it’s all good.
  2. Ah, so it is, damn that inversion! 😂 Not dumped the VTDI per se (I still have it, at least for the time being), but since I've added a compressor, there's no room for it on my Nano+ board. Also, as I'm playing fretless way more, I don't need the grit I was using it for.
  3. Yikes! Quick, go to my happy place and repeat the mantra, "I do not need another fretless, I do not need another fretless."
  4. Did an outdoor, stripped back gig in the drummer's garden that we live-streamed. It was a bit weird not having an audience other than the local inhabitants (do they count as an audience given that we foisted ourselves on them, rather than them coming to see us?) and felt a bit like a rehearsal. However, it was just nice to play with people in 'meatspace' rather than collaborations online. I'd do it again.
  5. How do you find the Mooer Micro DI? I'm thinking of adding one since my VTDI was removed from my board.
  6. 😂👏👏👏
  7. Well it is Basschat, it’s what we do.
  8. I think the only talking you out of this would involve a hard backed chair, some gaffa tape and a rubber hose. You’ve made a good case and it’s not like you’re going for a full one, US made expense fest.
  9. 11 for me on the guitar one.
  10. And because it's in the rules.
  11. This is a conundrum, especially in our band where certain members are pro, some are semi pro and others are technically amateurs. My band had a rehearsal and then live-streamed a gig from the drummer's garden at the weekend. He consulted with neighbours and put flyers round locally. It was a stripped back, acoustic (but amplified) type affair. I was very conscious of the volume, but it seemed to go OK in terms of not annoying the residents (at least not too much, there are always those who will not like it, but it was mid-afternoon and only for a couple of hours, so nothing for environmental officers to get involved in).
  12. EB flatwound Cobalts have purple winding similar to that video.
  13. 14, Kim Gordon was my undoing.
  14. I was obviously so used to seeing it, it slipped in unnoticed for quite some time, either that, or my sleep deprived brain isn’t firing as it should.
  15. Hold the phone and enough about Macari’s possibly smelly fuzz boxes (ooh, err)! When did @Happy Jack’s Spider-Man avatar make a return?
  16. Basschat offices are out of bog roll again then. 😂
  17. You could spend £1500... At least that’s what I think Mr Macari says.
  18. Updated with MXR M87 and flat patch leads...
  19. Thanks for making me aware of these. Bought and fitted, very neat and tidy.
  20. That really is the end of an era. It was more of a tourist attraction (trap) in recent years, but I remember a pro accordionist friend of my parents talking about Lou Macari when I was a kid, back before Denmark St and the environs became a place to be regarded as a tourist and treated accordingly.
  21. The whole “professional” thing is an absolute can of worms. What if a band has 4 semi-pro/amateur members and 1 professional member? What if a bunch of pro musos do a free gig (for the exposure 😉), is that still a pro gig? It’s all as clear as mud and only as effective as the enforcement applied.
  22. Ooh, there was a thread and and link about this very subject not so long ago. I can’t remember the company that was suggested as a supply though. Hang on yes I can, it’s this bunch http://www.kilointernational.com EDIT: Ah, whilst typing @ped has beaten me to it.
  23. This ^^^^ The shared piece is poorly written, decidedly indicative of its geographic origin and a tired old joke.
  24. That sounds like a good description of a Delano pickups me. I have J and MM types Delanos in 2 different basses (HEM2s IIRC), they are very articulate and take bass boost very well without becoming muddy. The Big Singles/Splits have a great 'rudeness' about them when you dig in and they look fab IMO. Certainly not quiet and retiring pickups.
