    Having previously used a Mustang (see above), it’s probably not a big issue for him. I’ve discovered that I prefer a slabby body over a very contoured one. I much prefer my slab bodied JMJ over my HB Mustang-alike and shirty ‘Ray. Obviously, others prefer it the other way around.

    I saw him using a Trent with them, on the telly. Prior to the Trent, he was using JMJ Mustang.

    I had an identical Jake to this one (without the upper horn paint rippling) and it was chambered.

    In my experience, I find shorties to have more clear fundamental that long scales, certainly less overtones, and do not have less low end at all, regardless of pickup position.

    I did an exercise where I resized a number of popular basses so that the scales were all equal, in order to show relative positions.

    I joined a band playing stuff I wouldn’t normally go and see, just to get out there again (I moved house during the lockdown to the other end of the country). So glad that I gave it go, great bunch of guys, a rake of gigs and I don’t mind the genre as much as I thought I did. Plus, learning a whole raft of new songs is always good for your chops.
