  1. Seasons In The Sun - Terry Jacks
  2. There are other shots where that very fine guitar player and very close friend looks even more like MK. He can also play exactly like MK when he wants too. However, it’s his own style that never fails to blow me away, a cross between Alan Murphy, Andy Powell, Johnny Marr and Knopfler. Lovely fella too who has to be told to turn up, a rare beast indeed. I would like to add that everyone in that band (not including myself here for fear of seeming a braggart) were fantastic musicians and I learnt masses during my tenure with them.
  3. Time for that old favourite of this thread… Why Does It Hurt When I Pee? - Zappa
  4. Having been follicly challenged for many years (my dad was bald as were both my granddads, I was always on a hiding to nothing with regard to my bicep covering) and own many, many hats, not least because I need to protect it from UV having had an UV induced growth. However, other than for a photoshoot and maybe an early gig or two with that band, I go sans titfer. Back when I had hair I would sport a bandana to soak up the sweat, but I use a towel these days, if required. Nonetheless, this thread calls for a hat, so a hat you shall have…
  5. Alone Again, Naturally - Gilbert O’Sullivan
  6. P/G change needed to my eyes, mint green would be better IMO. Nick the one off the white one.
  7. Or desperately needing a pee.
  8. Painkiller - Judas Priest
  9. Lady Marmalade - LaBelle
  10. Sailing Shoes - Little Feat
  11. The Trees - Rush

    Hello!

  13. I read that he was/is a Squire fan and why he bought a Ric copy back then in Bass Guitar Magazine, many years ago. As he's now Steven Wilson's go to bass player, he really has come full circle genre wise.
  14. Here's the list of players from the Rotosound website. https://www.rotosound.com/players/ Unfortunately, not all the players have photos. That'd be Michael League. He's not in the above list and I don't think that's a bass the guy is holding, looks more like a nylon strung acoustic to me, but there is certainly a resemblance to ML.
  15. Great looking setup, shame about the PITA from the supplier who I think I can guess it is. Your Ric 4003s is such a looker.
  16. I would dearly love to hear that. I'm glad it's not just me who has had a change of fretless, tonal centre. I would swap the necks over on my custom Maruszczyks so that I could use the neck pickup of the J type, but the necks are specific to the bodies and the holes are in different positions (typical!). Not that I couldn't fill and re-drill, but just for a trial, it's not really a viable option.
  17. Addendum: Sorry for the derail.
  18. I am a fretless bloke, or at least I was (I put up a thread about falling out of love with it a while back). However, since acquiring an EUB, I realise that it may not be fretless that I'm out of love with, but that very '80s (full disclosure, I love '80s music, so this is technically anathema), nasal, J bass back pickup/overly mid bumped 'Ray sound (Pino gets a pass, his fretless work still thrills me). After all these years, I think a fretless P type might be just the ticket (given my current love affair with short scales, this might be a fretless Mustang, if only there was more self assembly parts available for Mustangs). If I listen to Boz Burrell on the early Bad Co albums, none of the sliding or vibrato puts my back up the way the aforementioned tone does. Food for my thoughts.
  19. I must say that I've been very pleased with my NS WAV. Aesthetically speaking, not the prettiest thing, but not bad compared to many. However, just moving around the house is a doddle and it packs up into a very neat gig bag. Yes. I'd like a DB, but buying one, getting it delivered, getting it the car, etc, are all reasons why I went EUB. Oh yeah, it sounds great through my Phil Jones gear.
  20. Ooh, goody! I look forward to seeing those and neither of the two originally mentioned basses in this thread, in the FS section once you've finished them.
  21. In a world that doesn't make a lot of sense these days, this post is a shining beacon of sanity. Sorted, job done, nothing more to see here, move along.
  22. "Can't put the bloody Precision down, while I knew I liked it, it now feels like the most amazing bass I've ever owned." Sounds like a 10 to me. Just aesthetically speaking, I prefer the P, if that helps @Beedster choose just one (knowing that he hangs on my every post ).
