1.
No VAT or any other taxes are payable when importing to UK from Denmark VAT would only become due when importing from outside of the EU
Thanks for clarifying that!
2.
Hey Boom - do you know if a bass imported from Denmark is subject to VAT & Import duties when it hits the UK? I've been told by someone in the past that there were additional duties on a Danish import even though Denmark is in the EU
Hi Molan, I actually don't know, but I do know that I have bought quite a few basses in the UK, and they have never been subject to any VAT or import duties. Overall, I find it very hard to imagine that you'd have to pay anything, and I am sure that VAT is definitely out of the question. Import duties also sound unlikely within the UK - that's the whole idea, right? Free movement of goods, services and workforce... I have shipped a few basses to Germany in the past, and they were never subject to additional taxes neither.
3. I just bought Andy's Sadowsky P/J 4, and Andy is a great chap to deal with. He shipped as soon as the payment had cleared, and the packing was second to none! Thanks, mate!
4.
Hmmm...not for long! If I remember correctly, VAT is 25% in DK and duty around 5% - so around £4.3k to get a KBP into the UK? This makes the antigua precision an absolute bargain!
VAT in DK is 25%, and tax is 3%, but accumulated it is 28,75% plus they add a standard £21 administration fee. So, as I said, importing a new KBP5 into Denmark would cost $4831 (given the shipping cost is $400), which roughly equals £3360 (plus the £21 fee). But still, an absolute bargain - and one I am still monitoring quite closely... ;-)
5.
Do you know which pre-amp this has? Doesn't look like the Greengrove active units he uses these days/
Nope, it's the CP-I, the predecessor to the CP-IIIA that Chris uses currently (which is not identical to the Greengrove, BW). It sound a little different, but just as good, IMO.
6.
As Loz mentioned earlier, the list on these from Jimmy is now up around the $5,000 mark without shipping or import duties etc.
I recently required prices from Jimmy, an according to the list I got, a KBP5 Standard is $3,345, but he said that shipping to Denmark would be around $400 (which means no USPS, I guess), so in total and including custom duties (in Denmark) the final price would be a staggering $4,831. But that is including shipping and taxes... (Danish taxes and VAT, though, and I think that is more reasonable in the UK). However, this bass is still an incredible bargain. Had I not had an LM5 on the top of my list - and bought one just last week - I would have taken this one!
7. Sound clip added bump 1) Fingerstyle: both pups full, preamp slightly boosted (bass/treble), played over the neck pup. 2) Slap: same as above only an additional treble boost (old strings, you know...)
8. I bought Dave's Sadowsky Tokyo, and it was a smooth deal all the way through! :-) Great seller! Highly recommended and very honest! Thanks a lot, mate!
9. Hi, Please check my feedback below :-)
10. PM and money sent! :-) Can't wait to get this bass!
11. "Celinder,,how good??" Well, just about as good as it gets! :-) (IMHO)
12. On the one hand, I don't think that any bass is worth +$10,000, but then again, if it's the one perfect bass that will kill all future GAS and be 100% ideal for anything you're ever gonna play - why not? I just find it hard to beleive that such a bass exists...
13. How about semi-acoustic. Rob Allen's basses are amazing...!
14.
Hi Boom, I have to ask the usual question about how much it weighs? I've seen Celinders varying from between 11lbs down to just under 9lbs so there's quite a big variation
I don't have a scale right here, but it is much lighter than the other Celinder I had up for sale recently. I'd say around 9 lbs. 10 lbs. tops.
15. I think it would be fine. It sounds like a rather heavy rig, though... :-)
16. I just want a 5th string, that's all... I have yet to play a Fender with a decent B-string... I have a Celinder J-Update 5 for that, a Sadowsky Tokyo arriving soon, and some serious GAS for an Alleva Coppolo LM5. That being said, I have never had a bass that sounds as good as my trusty 72 Jazz!
