1. I've been thinking about getting one of these and restoring it.
2.
I can see your point, which is one of the main reasons I went for the Sub Phatty and not for e.g. the Minitaur. The Minitaur has presets but you can't see which one you're using. But I've fiddled with both the Voyager and the Model D, and I find the knob layout of the Model D way easier to understand.
I've got a Minitaur; it is a little bit one-dimensional and is limited to the lower octaves, but what it does is great.
3. So, I've picked this up in a state of disrepair; I've hopefully got a replacement body on the way and will then set about getting it back to what it should be.
4.
Oh sorry, yes I have them, they were still screwed into my amp, there's 4 in total, my older LMK has 2 holes each side. I'm guessing some LMK's have three each side given the ears have three holes.
OK - great (yes, mine has 3 in a triangle on each side). Paypal?
5.
Only thing is the G string is a new roundwound it seems, and the others are all original flatwounds. Sucks, anyone selling a forty year old flatwound g string?
Back in the day, I had Rotosound roundwounds on mine.
6.
Hi, i have 4 spare rack screws I can throw in, you will need a few more though. Just standard size rack screws.
Thanks - I meant the ones to attach them to the amp?
7.
Strung out guitars in Glasgow have one of these for £229!! It looks in good nick and has had a set up but it`s a bit pricey? Still it "has a cool relic look."
Bloomin 'eck - that is creative pricing!
8.
Corr, nice surprise! Cheers for the info guys, it's definitely bashed up and needs lots of work but I'll try work on it. Haha, sounds decent enough, here are some pics! http://imgur.com/a/jaa3y
Looks good - straight honest wear & tear.
9. Hi. I'd like your LM ears - do they include the screws? Thanks!
10. My first bass was one of those; it did good service til I bought a Ric. £30 sounds a good deal; I would've paid that on the spot. I don't know what it's worth in the current market (really crap ones seem to be worth money just now, but I'm not sure about half-decent ones!). As for the silence it could be duff wiring, failed pots or failed pickups; finding out and fixing it is part of the fun with these old basses.
11. Another way would be to wire the bass stereo, so the pickups go to separate amps or a mini-mixer (but that's effectively just an offboard pre-amp, if you think about it).
12. There are some real spongers about!
13. Yep - it's like cherry red, but with a smile!
14. I've got Badass II bridges on my P & J-basses.
15. 16. Shame it's got a Fender logo on the headstock, though.
17.
These Flee Bass s are doing the rounds seems there has been one for sale ever week for the whole of this year Ha Ha Ha I feel a fire coming on
I've been thinking of getting one and restoring it.
18. I had one Warwick and the neck was too chunky for me, to the point I hurt my finger trying to play it. I have another one now and it is a lot better. I have seen a Warwick neck on ebay, last year; I nearly bought it. I reckon if you're going to go to the lengths of having a custom neck made, you might as well go for a whole new bass!
19. 3x the price Warwick charge: https://shop.warwick.de/?&lang=en&modul=shop_new&site=shop_overview&&ctree=D0405358001321517424A43801|D0936787001489054649A277|D0270632001490715113A488&modul=shop&site=article_details&article_id=D0347642001472733943A74969&article_category=D0270632001490715113A488&collection_id=D0385287001341588826A1241
20.
It's a really easy going format on the day normally... Come along, bring some of your gear if you want to, chat with other Basschatters if you want to, listen to other people play, try out some new gear if you want to, have a jam in the Jam Room if you want to, etc, etc.. An keen interest in 'all things bass' and a very friendly vibe is the order of the day really.
Right - it's in my calendar! I might bring along my '64 Ric for an outing.
21. Oh - I was going to suggest a Badass, but I guess it's a no to that!
