  1. Well, it is something to ponder. Years ago I was in a band and I was never into partaking, though the rest were; we were at a practice and they were all going "This is great man!", but I thought it was an utter shambles. I think some of the drugs can help stamina, staying up to work on things, and suchlike, so I guess that may implicitly help playing. I watched a Beatles documentary and they were all on something; I think it may help the creativity. A lot of the music I like appears to come via drug enhancement, but it's just plain not my thing.
  2. It could be, but not necessarily; the 4001S weren’t all RM.
  3. I don't know if there is any info regarding Peter Quaife's one (eg. the s/n). The bass in the pic may or may not be an RM import (ie. RM1999); without details it'll be impossible to know. It looks like (thought it might be the reflection) it has silver-topped control knobs rather than plain black ones.
  4. The preamps have a bit of a reputation, but some of it is just the red LED fails; I bought one as faulty and it turned out it worked fine (but the LED was very dim).
  5. I often take a wander down to Southsea, so this could be doable.
  6. I did have a saved search on there for quite a while, but nothing came up.
  7. I've realised I don't have a Washburn bass; I did have one of the Status ones bought new in the 80s, but I replaced it with a real Status Graphite S2 in the 90s. I've got a superstrat though; it's not bad.
  8. I'd like one of those.
  9. It's not a giveaway if you have to pay.
  10. I went to that - still got the T-shirt. Never been to another festival gig since.
  11. Oops - missed that! Kindof vaguely inspired by Siphon & Carbuncle.
  12. Erm, that cover isn't by Yes. Roger Dean is still my favourite artist, though. (Avatar is a total rip-off of his work.)
  13. Too far for me to go; shame it's in the South West! 🙂
  14. That is as bad an album cover as I've ever seen. The Roger Dean covers are part of the Yes product. Their 80s computer graphics ones worked. David Fairbrother-Roe's cover art on Olias was in keeping with the image.
  15. That's not bad - thanks.
  16. I went last year and my memories are: A 70 miles 2-hours+ drive to get there, including queueing at a junction with poorly sync'd traffic lights. Having a pleasant chat with the Bright Onion folks (but they said they couldn't do the pedal I wanted). A good chat with a chap on another stand who had restored some vintage amps. Standing at a table wanting to ask something but the bloke there was just talking about himself, loudly and without pausing for breath, so I wandered off; I went back later and he was still at it, so I gave up. Quite a small show for the asking price and not a lot there. Going into Brighton after (haven't been for years), taking a stroll around the lanes, and having a rather expensive (but nice) meal. I didn't bother this time 'round.
  17. So, the government are going to look into things... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20r26p7d0ro IMHO, the dynamic pricing is pretty disgraceful; imaging queueing for hours and then finding the price had trebled! It's manipulation, playing on the gambling & auction fever psyche.
  18. Hmm - I thought "That's a great into to the song", but 4 minutes in it appears to be the whole thing. And then a load of shouty stuff.
  19. I was wondering what post metal is too; I might check it out.
  20. It's got very de-personalised. Then again, stadium-sized gigs are very detached for me too.
  21. I just plain don't like added handling fees, and so-on.
  22. When do the tickets go on sale?
  23. I immediately guessed it was @ash when I saw Lancaster.
  24. Well, it has got a graphic eq to tweak things. Trace did that little 5" speaker HF unit, if you manage to pick one of thos up somewhere.
  25. OUTPUT!!!
