  1. All it needs is the tuners re-shaping and the nut made to look like a set of piranha teeth and it could be....
  2. It's more Peavey than P. 🙂
  3. AI can be good for somethings, certainly to assist in pattern matching. However, for eBay listing descriptions it just produces a load of meaningless twaddle (WTF is "With 20 medium jumbo frets"???).
  4. Ah well - I think it's a fine piece of kit. FYI, I also have a Behringer El Toro; that also does what it says on the tin.
  5. I think the ony reason it's not shifted has to be the asking price: £179 plus £17 postage = £198 doesn't stack up well against the new price of £219 (Andertons inc. free delivery).
  6. AWS came about when Amazon decided to sell the spare capacity from their warehouse systems.
  7. Alternatively...
  8. Strats are the guitars I seem to get on best with, though there are so many variations of neck and fittings that simply saying "a Strat" doesn't tell the whole story; I have several, plus copies (a Levinson Blade is my standout). For some reason I don't get on so well with Gibsons; I have an SG and a Les Paul (Studio), but they seem slightly cramped for me. OTOH I had a play on a Flying V last year and I really liked it, plus I've aways wanted an Explorer. I've also got a couple of Teles built from parts (Fender MIM) and they're pretty good. There are some other brands I have too, including Washburn, Danelectro (tuned to DADGAD), Aria Pro (I would like a vintage PE-1000), plus others, but none I would get evangelical about. That's electrics. Acoustic-wise I occasionally pick up my Ovation (they have a specific sound, but are hard to play sitting down) and a classical guitar (which can teach you things about bass playing). So, overall my recommendation would be a Strat, probably HSS, with not too light strings (10s), a not too curved neck (if you want to bend strings), a whammy (just because), and whatever style neck (I don't notice maple vs rosewood) and colour body you like. Fender MIM is probably the benchmark for price vs. performance for me, so I'd suggest those as a comparison baseline.
  9. Hopefully the new government will look at that; they're happy to chase individuals but need to sort out the corporates.
  10. I buy things from Amazon and via eBay if what I want is there. The number of times I've gone into shops to look for something and when I've asked the assistant has advised me to look online... I usually respond with something like "Well, I've come here and would like to give you my business.". Incidentally, I recently went to a shop to look for a piece of HiFi; they said they had one and told me it was storage off-site but would confirm in the week; they called back and said it hadn't been serviced, so I said that meant I was sitting on a £399 bill, but they stuck at the price discussed inthe shop, so I declined. They then put it on eBay and it sold for less. TBH, I'm getting to the point of not bothering with shops, as I'm getting the idea that I'm just wasting my time.
  11. It's possible I got it the wrong way round and they started off being MIJ and then swapped to Italy. I think the edges of the tuner keys are fluted outwards though.
  12. I had an old one for a while; it's common for them to lose the "S" on the tailpiece. The RM shop also did a reissue 10-15 years ago and they really hiked the price (£899.99, I think). This is a 1970 RM catalogue which matches the one in the pic. I think 1970 and those tuners makes it Italian (Eko).
  13. That was intended to be ironic, btw. 🙂
  14. Buy this - it’s worth double if you flip it.
  15. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/387170874683 Descrption: The neck is a licensed neck by WD music. I think the back neck plate is from 1973. The body could be Fender and I have no idea about the electrics etc ( the control cavity looks professionally cut ).

  18. Millions of pounds of investment gone into generating this load of rollocks have made Nvidia the most valuable company in the world! It features a single custom humbucking pickup and passive electronics, providing a punchy, versatile tone ideal for various musical styles. This bass is known for its sleek design, exceptional build quality, and distinctive sound, making it a prized instrument for both professional and amateur bassists."
  19. A Polo bass: mint with a hole in it?
  20. OK, it's an Alembic, but heck that is an ugly bass!
