  1. ...and one of the tuners looks like it's been set at the wrong angle like one or two others which have featured in these hallowed halls...
  2. That's the problem with buying used Fender kit.
  3. Well, that's very "community" spirited! 🙂
  4. Yes, but the classifieds also say Does "buyer beware" and all that tally with the "trustworthy" and "community" aspects there? (BTW, I did contact the seller and he revised his price, so there can be no doubts about his genuineness.)
  5. His ads rock!
  6. BTW, the seller in this case looks to be quite genuine.
  7. The road to wherever is paved with good intent...
  8. You're a gent, sir!
  9. I would say that collectable, vintage, etc. are quite different to a current mail-order item; however, if someone wishes to sell me a '62 Precision for 25 Guineas, then I would be more than happy to do the deal. But where it relates to current models is a different matter; I've seen Harley Bentons priced above what they are new from Thomann.
  10. Anyway, I've not pooped on his ad, but have messaged with a link to the current AliExpress one.
  11. The issue with letting things by is that the classified are presented as "An incredibly safe way to shift gear within a tight and trustworthy community.", which sort of goes against the law of the jungle. OTOH, if we encourage "calling out", then things could turn into everyone and their dog conducting a Dutch Auction on behalf of an indeterminate prospective buyer.
  12. It is something to factor in when buying from abroad.
  13. I wasn't looking to buy the item myself, so was just asking in the role of a concerned citizen...
  14. Yup! I bought it with the TRC, swapped the pickups, and added the Maltese cross.
  15. Well, that should sound alright!
  16. What's the protocol here for seeing something in the classifieds which is offered at nearly double the price of a new one? Would you keep quiet, or would you give a link to the original?
  17. Crikey - taxes must've been huge!
  18. Retrovibes are fun for a bit of mucking about - I've got one (slightly different theme, though).
  19. It always sounded like a DIY store to me. (There was one called Jepsons in my town.)
  20. Looks a bit road-worn...
  21. Can't even spell Squier...
  22. Those are so bad they're good!
  23. My '72 (full width inlays). My '78 (narrower inlays): My customised 2013 (full width inlays):
  24. Rickenberger...
  25. Here's one I made...
