  1. Yeah the Backline came to mind, can't find any at the moment. Looking at the Genz Benz, thank you @naxos10. Few on the Tree of Gum near me: Marshall Bass State 65 SWR Workingman's 15 Orange Crush BXT50 Laney RB4 165W
  2. Hello all, I currently have a GK700RB and BB2 cab which is fine for the size of gigs I'll be doing with the rock outfit I'm with, but I'm just starting with an acoustic-type band (acoustic guitar / clean electric, keys and drums), and am looking at practice amp options I can leave with the guys that will be sufficient to be heard for practice. Clearly it's not a full-on rock affair where volume and the 'GK growl' is needed. I'll use the BB2 for gigs but it's a tad cumbersome to take to the home studio every time. I've done some reading up on BC and the Ibanez Promethean seems to have a good rep, but am wondering if it's best to go for a cab rather than combo, or will I be in imminent danger of blowing a low-rated cab? Or perhaps just get a combo such as the Orange? The new Vox Adio BS arriving in July looks tempting and very portable but I very much doubt that would carry itself in a band setting....
  3. Most intriguing. Page about it here, which auto-translates surprisingly well from German. Has sound clips as well. http://www.bassprofessor.info/index.php/all-about-bass/bass-museum/mighty-mite-rock-bass-ii-ltd
  4. I don't suppose this is still for sale?
  5. I'm very interested in one of these but there are no videos to refer to online, unless the Bass Bomb Driver is a near enough equivalent for comparison? If anyone here is able to do a clip I'd be most appreciative!
  6. Neck from an Aerodyne perhaps? Although it doesn't have the 'Aerodyne' signature on the headstock, but it is coloured along with having a skunk stripe. [attachment=246798:s-l400.jpg]
  7. Further to the 'if it's passive' comment, that's correct; the outputs can be used as inputs and vice versa. That said, the Bright Onion looks like a good option and you'd be supporting a British brand!
  8. There's a Fender A/B pedal online for about 25 quid that would work. I have the EHX switchblade for 40 and allows simultaneous or alternate inputs, does the job. Runs without power if you don't need the status LED working.
  9. A combination of POG2s, harmonist, distortion, fuzz and a separate clean line, sent to different amps. I did see (on Cog effects website I think) that they've done a custom pedal. You know you've made it when... Oh and humbuckers.
  10. TRADED – Fender American Professional Jazz c/w Fender hard case. I'm trying my best to trim down my rig, therefore reluctantly looking to move on this instrument bought a few months ago. Looking to sell, though I might be willing to do a trade and not achieve my plan of going to a single bass! It's a cracking instrument in excellent condition; I still might just keep it. There's a tiny ding (about 1mm wide, 1mm deep) on one edge, too small to get a clear photo. Comes with the Fender Elite hard case and case candy. There seems to be a fair bit of chatter regarding how (if at all) it improves on the MIA Standard; the differences are subtle, but having tried both (identical spec) side-by-side at length before buying, the Pro does feel more refined and a touch brighter. I've not seen any second-hand Pro P or J basses online, so this is a chance to pick up one up at a good price. I'm in Bristol so I'm happy to have folks try stuff / collect if decided. Postage will be at buyer's cost. Happy to answer any questions, rapid response assured.
  11. I'm also very surprised; I'd snap this up if I could move on my Starcaster and make some room!
  12. Met Mike the other day to sell my spare amp. Lovely guy and would be happy to deal with him again!
  13. Did a pedalboard trade at the weekend; James kept in comms and we met up with no problems at all. I'd happily deal with him again.
  14. This still an ongoing requirement, per chance..?
  15. Made a purchase recently and was very happy to deal with someone who knew their stuff, took care of their kit and was happy to chat about his other kit- all useful for a relative newbie such as myself!
  16. ----- SOLD ----- PRICE: £700 This wondrous (and decidedly weighty) amp is not being used since my move to bass playing, so it should go to someone who will appreciate it. It comes with a soft dust cover and tremolo pedal. Bought in the early 90s and not used in anger aside from two small gigs and practice in the house, this is a superb amp. I could go on and on about its valve warmth, Eric Clapton etc etc but maybe have a look at a video review instead: Review here: https://www.youtube....h?v=iT4i6eMxEHw Aside from a small hole in the cloth grille where a screw has nipped it, this is in good condition, with valves in good order, new pots put in and PAT tested. It's just over 30kg so I'm really not keen on posting it!
