  1. That was quick - they've only just come out! Already a fan of mine.
  2. --- SOLD --- UK POSTAGE INCLUDED A change-around has made this surplus to requirements. I believe there are a number of fans on BC - the 'one stop shop' for tube overdrive and fuzzy madness. It's a wee bit scuffed in places but works fine and comes with PSU + box.
  3. Just sold a bass to Anton; lovely guy, was able to discuss all things Bristol and bass-related on a drive to the city centre too. Thank you @Anton Betaudier!
  4. Did a PX exchange by courier with Iain; another smooth BC transaction with good comms throughout. Thanks @iain_psb!

  6. Bought a cab by post from Neil - great comms throughout and very helpful. Cheers chap!
  7. designacable on Amazon are pretty good too - good parts and a range of colours and lengths.
  8. It is indeed. I have a provisional viewing on Friday but let me know if you're interested.
  9. Valid points, thank you. Yes, having thought through it more it seems like far too much complication.
  10. Hello all, I've been doing a bit of research into this and wondered if any folks here might be able to clarify / offer their thoughts and experiences on the following: I'm about to invest in upgrading our band's PA system and thought 'why not register as a company for both performance and kit rental purposes, buy the gear VAT refundable and then hire it out?' I'd have to take out liability insurance and the like, of course. Anyone else do this? I tend to buy second-hand equipment but in this rare instance of buying from new, this seems to be a good idea, with (probably fairly little) earning declared. Thanks
  11. It doesn't make the song as such, but the cowbell on the intro to Guns n Roses 'Think About You' is very distinctive; it's one of those album tracks that seems to get forgotten about but is an absolute cracker.
  12. Coincidentally, the PA route is what I'm thinking of, hence me selling one or both of my BF cabs. Some good advice on the forums here so take the time to do some research!
  13. SOLD ELSEWHERE Hi all, Streamlining my kit right down for portability and have decided to sell this given I'm only using a fraction of its capabilities. Also for sale are my Barefaced cabs. I won't give you the full spiel, but these are a superb way of providing all the amp tones you could want - especially handy if you play guitar as well as bass. This is the 600W powered version and is more than loud enough with either of the Barefaced cabs for medium-sized venues. The unit itself is in mint condition (still with cellophane cover on the display) and has the Wattamp paid profile pack included. The remote has some very minor marks on it where it has been put in the carry case - it's a tight fit but the case is ideal for carrying both to a gig / rehearsal. The flight case has some signs of wear on the outside, but that's what it's for - the latches and internal space are both in good order. Total price online for all this is £2400. I'd rather not split this up unless I have buyers lined up for each item. Tryouts with a good brew in Bristol are most welcome. If it's a bit of a hike, make a weekend of it! I'm not really interested in trades, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
  14. SOLD Hi all, Streamlining my kit right down for portability and use of a PA means I'm looking to move these on Both are in excellent condition, bought new and come with 5mm padded Roqsolid cases. The BB2 one has a bottom velcro flap and covered handle opening. The SM case is a 'cajon' style case with carrying handles and shoulder strap. There seem to be a couple of other BB2s up for sale so if you're after one, looks like you have a choice depending what part of the country you're in! Collection is much preferred from Bristol; postage is at buyer's cost.
  15. Tom is, indeed! A self build is tempting using bought parts, but NR bodies seem very difficult to buy. Thanks for the tips folks, I shall investigate.
  16. Hi all, I'm considering going for a custom NR Thunderbird-type bass that will be a keeper (of course, we all say that), but a well-rated chap in Bristol has an 18-month waiting list. Any tips on somewhere in the area that would be able to do it a bit quicker would be greatly appreciated, as I don't think Google Maps searching is that accurate for such a service. Thanks
  17. Thought this may be of interest to some.
  18. I was just thinking today that these amps don't come up for sale much at all, AND I'm within 120 miles. I feel I need to make some space!

  20. Where is the OP based? I think quite a number of small independent stores stock Revelation gear (one or two in Bristol for sure) so it would be worth visiting and trying out.
  21. Not directly relevant, but I picked up a used Revelation Jazzmaster copy for 160 quid. Sounds good and I actually prefer the neck to my £1800 Les Paul that I sold!
  22. Yes, @dadagoboi you are the cause of my extreme desire for a new bass - shame I was too far north in the US to pay a visit! Some great instruments you've done there. I may well be in touch soon....
  23. TRADED Hi all, I realise I can manage with just my Fender PJ so I've decided to move this on. Not really looking for any particular trades but please do ask - the worst I can do is say no. I've put £430 into this, It's 4kg and just shy of 44mm at the nut, Hipshot BT-& D-Tuner fitted. Lots of chat here from those in the know about how Vintage brand basses compare with their more expensive counterparts, so I won't harp on. I swapped the neck for a lovely one-piece maple one; it plays really well and is as straight as can be. The EMG pickups give a range of tones. It's in good condition with just a few very small nicks on it, no buckle rash and the frets are looking good. This would be a fine gigging bass: reliable and you won't be upset if it takes a knock or two. Tryouts in Bristol are most welcome. Postage at buyer's expense; I have decent packaging and will include a simple Fender non-padded bag. Grab a bargain!!
  24. Been discussed ad nauseam on these pages, but Vintage (the brand) basses punch way above their price point, with decent hardware and electronics. Do a search and you'll see how well they're regarded by seasoned Fender owners. I'm only looking to move my Vintage PJ on for reasons of space, otherwise it's a no-brainer having one!
