  1. SOLD As per the title. I've moved my stuff around so I can use my Kemper even at home, hence not needing this anymore. It's a great wee box that gives pretty faithful renditions of GK's amps (I use the 800RB setting), plus tuner and compressor. My observations: - Drive is okay at low to mid levels but isn't so great maxed out. - Compressor is decent enough for general use, especially with quick attack settings (and gives visual indication of compression levels applied - Not sure there are many other preamps out there that offer that functionality plus Aux in for playing along to songs, headphones, USB and XLR out. It comes with an extended guarantee that still has over 3 years to run. That said, seeing how solidly built GK stuff is, I can't imagine you would ever use it! I can do a sound sample if anyone is interested. Collection and tryout from Bristol is most welcome.
  2. Interested in the Nano; I've replied to your email.

  4. There was an issue with PayPal not applying the discount but I called to highlight it and they were already aware. they refunded the difference within 15 minutes.
  5. I picked up an old Vintage brand PJ bass a couple of months ago. With upgraded EMG pickups and a decent nut it fairs very well compared with more expensive models. Seeing as I'm struggling to move on my other bass, I would be willing to sell, if you're interested.
  6. All good points in response to my original post, thank you! Not had the chance to try the 66s out but have been impressed with the videos I've seen of them, which admittedly isn't the ideal way of judging before buying.
  7. I like the sound of the Thunderbucker Ranch 66s but they are rather expensive. my guess is the body being a P compared with a mahogany TBird would be minimal to be honest. I had a TBird but couldn't get on with the body shape but I loved the sound.
  8. Having missed out on the white NR Thunderbird on sale here a short time ago, I'm contemplating putting decent TBird pickups in a P Body; anyone tried this and have good / bad things to say about the sound?
  9. I think (although will defer to expertise) these tuners were on several of their instruments, and the higher specced ones such as the JB60 and JB85 had the standard four-screw ones - electronics similar across the Board though.
  10. As above, includes 2nd Class postage. In v good condition, perfect working order with original packaging. I've concluded I am indeed a P bass chap so am moving on my Jazz (Tokai Jazz Sound).
  11. SOLD £390 The few I've seen online are going for double this price; price lowered as I'd like to make space for something else while it is still available; I think this is a very fair price for a US Fender rival. I'd consider trades with cash your way for something like a Non-reverse Thunderbird or P Bass. Try me. Here's my 1983ish Tokai Jazz Sound JB45 with details as follows: - Custom bone nut (39mm) provided by Edge Guitar Services in Bristol - 4.1kg - Tone pot: Emerson Pro CTS 250k blender - Fender gig bag (unpadded) included Some of the pics show Seymour Duncan QP pickups; these have now been sold, so the original pickups are included (which are rather good I must say). This has the dings and imperfections you'd expect from a bass this age, which I have photographed as best as I can. The frets are showing a tiny bit of wear lower down, but not greatly so. I'm happy to provide more detailed images with strings off. Those who know about this era and brand don't need to be told this is a top quality 60's jazz bass copy that holds its own with Fenders. Obviously collection and tryout in Bristol would be preferred but I can post at buyer's expense. I've done a video walkthrough (no playing, just closeups): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1n0e-TWyc8aGrwuYSrdBFNoidVRwPlt3l/view Thanks for looking!
  12. Off to the USA soon; thinking I should make the most of the price difference for a wireless kit (already got in-ears). For $250-300 or so it seems to be the Sennheiser range that come up as winners. I'm not a pro but just want something half decent to mix the PA and my own signal. Advice / previous relevant post URLs I may have missed are welcome.
  13. If I didn't have my current setup, I'd get this for sure. Even if it's just used for the low gain tube setting, this is well worth it.
  14. Ah this will keep me going for a while at work! Also, quite surprising The Topics version of Louie Louie isn't on there. Listen from 2:31 onwards. I need to learn this as my ultimate "wow, he can really play" tune

  16. 3.5mm with 0.6mm pitch have done the job! Thanks for the advice. They're shorter than the existing screws but that means they don't protrude above the saddles, which is no bad thing for palm muting. I bought 100 so I now have quite a few spares going!
  17. Typical timing, just bought a PJ when I was actually looking for just a maple-necked P like this! FFS. Can't imagine this will be up for long.
  18. Thanks chaps. As has been said, worth a punt for a quid or two. A minor faff to get a great bass back to being playable. Can't believe I spent several times as much on a jazz bass and it doesn't match this one for feel.
  19. Yes, thread is something to look at but a 3.5mm screw will be too big. Attached is the image of the original screw and a #6-32 imperial, which is too big and has fewer threads per inch.
  20. You'd think so but this is definitely a 0.125" inch screw!
  21. To be fair I didn't look closely at the packet; they may have been metric. Diameter was fine but he was fairly sure the thread was incompatible.
  22. Hmm that sounds about right, but the chap I spoke to reckoned the thread pitch on the Fender Vintage screws he had (correct diameter) was different to mine.
  23. Hi all, I'm trying to source a saddle screw for my 1983ish Tokai JB45. My go-to chap in Bristol is unable to help. It's not one of the modern 3mm diameter ones widely available: 3.39 x 11mm according to the callipers. There must be someone who has such bits and bobs; I'd rather not have to get a new saddle....
  24. I was thinking about those Dp126s but I reckon the EMGs are more for me. Now to see if anyone is selling them!
