Are you thinking secondhand or straight from JD? A buddy of mine had one up for sale recently and it was a killer funk machine, not my kind of thing (I prefer clunky things like Rics / P-Basses) but he was asking a very reasonable price for it considering how damn fine it was. Not amny turn up S/H tho, there was a real cool white one on here, the Starchild one (was that your Soliloquy?)
It was mine yes ! I sold it to help my brother out of a crisis, but promised myself another. I'm getting a Series 3 in Cherry red .

I'm getting a Mark King Series 3 bass for my birthday in a few weeks. I want a 5 string Jaydee. I love the instruments, they're second to none. John is a fantastic guy, and a great luthier. I think the current wait time is approaching two years, but they're well worth the wait. He was telling me a couple of years ago that he's busier now than in the 80's.

Certainly worth thinking about.
Interested in my S1?
I would love you Series 1. I think it may be a bit out of my price range though. And I'd be so worried that it'd get broken on it's way over here.
No, I didn't. I meant 0.5mm
He definitely didn't. You really wouldn't want it to be 5mm with the string fretted at both ends, the action would be way too high.

Speaking from personal experience. I would be a little careful when adjusting a Warwick bass truss rod. The bit that the adjusting tool fits into is made from aluminium, and is very soft. I had a Thumb bass last year that ended up needing a new truss rod. I'm not trying to scare the OP here. It does seem to be a common problem with them, have a look on the Warwick bass forum and you'll see what I mean.

I wouldn't dream of playing after or while drinking. I don't drink though, so I guess it's a silly statement. I have played with people though who did drink a lot while playing, mainly drummers .

The used price when I was looking for one about 3 months ago was still about £600. I can't believe how it's dropped in such a short time.

I've done a few, I've found that one leads to another and so on. The last one as at Christmas, I had a phone call on the Sunday before Christmas, and had to be in Southampton the following morning at 11am. This was in all that terrible snow. Good sight reading skills are a must, and you need to be confident in busking too. I've found it to be a bit 'hi de hi' 'ish. I don't really like it too much. You do get plenty of free time in the days, it actually gets quite boring after a bit. There's plenty of opportunity for sightseeing when you're in port.

I had a Will Lee last year, and I really want another one.

I just discovered SWR after 20 odd years of playing. I've had everything from Epifani to Markbass, and the SWR is my favourite. I think it's a fashion thing. TC seems to be the current hot favourite. Though the cabs, in my opinion are nowhere near as good as the SWR cabs. Mine is 15 plus years old, I really doubt the TC ones will still be going strong in 15 years with that awful finish. Bump for a great rig.
