1. It was a review of some Manson basses in a guitar magazine some time in 1983/4 that first got me interested in 5 and 6 string basses. I think they were a bit ahead of their time.
2. Some photos for the interested parties. There are a few very slight marks along the edges on the top only. The front is pretty much perfect. The flash from photos make the amp look a lot worse than it actually is. I really look after my gear.
3.
So, what is the plan with this F1 then??
Sorry I've been away. I also haven't received any emails notifying me of your reply to my thread (AGAIN ! ).
4. What's your budget and what power output do you need ? Have you maybe thought of a used Markbass F1 or maybe one of the Markbass modular amps ? With an F1 you have 500 (real watts), a small head for smaller gigs and reliability. I've read that a lot of these obscure class D amps have in reality nowhere near the output that they're described as having, and there are reliability issues with some of them. I was going to get a class D power amp to go with my Alembic F1X, I'm probably just going to use my F1 though. It's very loud, it's reliable and why spend £300 or more on something that I don't need. I can just plug it into the effects return socket, bypassing the F1's preamp and just using the power amp section.
5. There seems to be quite a few of these around nowadays. I'm possibly after one. I was offered one of these the other day http://www.eurobaltronics.com/eng/products/synq-digit-2k2-digital-amplifier-2-x-1100w-rms.html I need to spend a bit of time doing some research. I've been a bit busy recently. There were a few replies to a recent thread of mine too with other recommendations.
6. I don't know why you'd want a rack tuner. Just my opinion of course . You can get a great and accurate pedal tuner for not a lot of money. I've got a Turbotuner, but the Pitchblack is good too. Why do you want to add more weight to a rack ? A pedal just fits into your gig bag pocket. Do you always use your rack for every gig ?
7. I just bought a valve preamp. I need to get it looked at though. Does anyone know of any repairmen/technicians in the Birmingham or Midlands area ?
8. I found this photo a little earlier today. What a monster !! That's my Calibas 6 string in the background. That weighs a fair amount, I dread to think what this must weigh. I wonder where it is now ?
9. These are a 6 string set, but you can obviously fit them to a 5 string, either with a high C or a low B. Gauges are 110, 90, 70, 50, 30, 20. Brand new unopened. £20 posted.

11.
Hi mate, did my PM not interested? Cheers, Matt
Hi, I replied yesterday afternoon. Sorry, I'm really just after a class D power amp. Thanks for getting in touch though.
12. I am professional bass player living in Birmingham. I have over 20 years of playing experience. I have performed at venues throughout the UK. I have also played on several cruise ships, and done numerous recording sessions. I'm available for any type of paid gig. I'm going to be living part of the week in London from January onwards, so I welcome any paid gigs around the London area.
13. Must be fairly lightweight. It doesn't have to be mega powerful, probably up to about 600 watts would suffice. Preferably class D. Budget about £400.
14. I never forget seeing Mr King planting his head first into a sand dune on the 'Living it up' video.
15. There's one bass that I've never played, and always wanted to. No way can I afford this, but have a bump.
16. I just got this from on here a couple of weeks ago, It was meant as a replacement for my soon to be departed E1010. It doesn't quite work how I wanted it to though, the same as the E1010 doesn't . So I'm going to replace it with separate Chorus and Delay pedals. Here's a link to the original thread. It's exactly as I took delivery of it. I guess I've experimented with it for an hour or two, that's all. http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 I want what I paid for it, £100. That includes UK postage. Trades for a good chorus pedal, maybe EBS or preferably an Analogman. Or maybe a carbon copy analogue delay. Plus cash either way.
17. I'm probably going to just keep the F1 and do the same thing, F1X into the effects return. The F1 seems to be fime with both Acme's.
