  1. Yeah its a limited run in Ocean Turquoise they did a couple of years ago, not to be confused with Tidepool which is TOTALLY different 😅. Would definitely consider a player jazz bass in buttercream, its a lovely colour.
  2. Playing a mex player p bass at the moment strung with la Bella flats for my acoustic band set, can’t fault it at all. Great neck , tone , playability etc. the hardware is “ok”, not amazing but I won’t be changing anything because it all works fine. Good value for money imo.
  3. That's very cool
  4. 2+2 headstocks . Used to think 4 in line or 3+1 were the only way to go . Now I really like the 2+2 headstock on my Sandberg basic with the smaller, more modern gotoh tuners. From a practical point of view it makes the bass a lot tidier and better balanced - imo
  5. Cool , I had one of the old ones , moved it on as it wasn’t getting much use. Great amps tho. Have they improved the EQ? That was tricky to get right .
  6. Pbass + flats + barefaced two10 + Little Bastard. A real jamerson setup
  7. Question: had a problem with a faulty speaker cable , I’m afraid my valve amp was probably running with no load for a few seconds . Everything seem ok now tho. Do you think I should get the amp checked out ? Is it possible I may have damaged the OT?
  8. Setup for cramped pub gig, note lack of pedal floor space 😂. (Listen you’re getting chorus for the whole song whether you like it or not) Great sounding rig tho .
  9. One trip to rehearsal , love that .
  10. If you look closely (I know it’s dark) that’s actually on top of a bench . We were really struggling to fit everyone. But I think a 2x10 can could be placed there horizontally.
  11. So anyway I just about got away with the elf and 1x10 box but really I’ll be finding some way of shoving my barefaced two10 in there somewhere (I think I could 🤔) Although it was able to keep up volume wise I just felt I didn’t have that low end “heft” (sorry) and it started to get harsh when pushed. what I liked was the gain/compression feature , kept everything on an even keel.
  12. Anyone know any guitarists playing a Sandberg guitar, they look decent enough but I fear that market might be too saturated
  13. I’ve this bass in natural finish, I think it’s a great bass , I’ve owned an MM stingray and I still think this is a better sounding and playing bass as they placed the pick-up slightly closer to the neck .
  14. So , I’ve a gig tomorrow night with a 5 piece in a typical cosy Irish pub, (i.e . Not enough room to swing a cat and we’ll be falling over each other) I’ve decided I’m gonna try the elf with the 1x10 box . Wish me luck 🍀
  15. Badly relic'ed basses
  16. It remind me of those hideous VW Polo chameleons from about 20years ago.
  17. I have to reiterate that the elf 1x10 box is a great little cab . It really fills the room
  18. Went through a spate of fender jazz basses both US and Mex always found them to be a bit 'meh'. Then went through a load of different brands from Sandberg, Human Base, Warwick, Music Man, Mayones. About 2 years ago I picked up a fender mex player precision and I absolutely love it. I was actually really surprised with the quality, playability and tone from this bass all at a very reasonable price point.
  19. He wishes LOL
  20. Brought this out tonight to rehearse for a few upcoming gigs . It really has a great tone . Every note punches hard , no dead spots .
  21. I like this combo for a Jazz but it has to be beaten up a bit.
  22. I own a bass (Sandberg Basic) that has 24frets. While I think aesthetically it works pretty well for that particular bass, in general I think 24frets kinda looks goofy and unbalanced especially with traditional bass shapes. I don't think I ever really felt "I could really do with 3/4 extra frets on my bass'.
  23. And they look gross.
  24. I'd love to see an actual Wish-o-Backer in the flesh .
