  1. I bought one a few months ago in place of my TE 110 elf and it’s a cracking cabinet. Lovely warm low end , you could mistake it for a 112 or even 115. Really sensitive cabinet with loads of punch . This is a great asking price
  2. Thanks for that , just bought one !
  3. I’d like to put together a 100w plexi style bass amp with 4x EL34s I can’t imagine that’s too complicated? It’s the cost of the actual cabinets I find a bit ludicrous. Almost the same cost of all the innards ….for a wooden box essentially
  4. I know this is an old thread , but I just built a tweed 5e3 amp and Im jurs itching to put together a bass amp, I just can’t see that many bass kits out there apart from modulous. How did your amp turn out ?
  5. Just finished a tweed guitar amp build (5E3) and am eager to get cracking on a 50/100w bass amp (Marshall plexi 1986 type). I’m finding the actual cabinets are as expensive as the innards ! Anyone know where I could get plans for the short/compact Marshall amp box? Maybe I could take to a cabinet builder or carpenter.
  6. To me this classifies as a "consumable" or "accessory" and not "gear" as such, now if it was diamond encrusted or made from something exotic like snakeskin you might be pushing your luck! ...but I don't make the rules..
  7. Jan is a bad time to try and sell anything, I was trying to sell a pristine P bass and no bites at all....which I'm slightly relieved by as its a cracker of a bass.
  8. Once you try a Sandberg you're in trouble.
  9. I have the Two10 and its as loud as I've ever needed. I toyed with the idea of getting a four10, but honestly there was no point, the Two10 delivers in spades. Great Cabs
  10. Yeah, Ideal for small acoustic gigs and rehearsal, I was looking for something small that I could use with this amp and the elf amp I had. I sold the Elf 110 I had as it was just too small for the LB30 and not really suited to that amp. Got the Epifini last week on Reverb and its ideal, lovely warm tone from it, very efficient cab so it gets relatively loud.
  11. Really happy with this little 110 Epifnai / little bastard combo 😁
  12. I've had a class D Ampeg PF350 and a TC electronics 250W class D amp and the elf 200W kicks both their bottoms so..yeah underrated loudage !
  13. I might be totally wrong but I think the old 200W trace heads were Class A/B and had stonking clumps of iron transformers driving the speaker so they might have more "heft" (there's that word ) than the class D 200W elf.
  14. I had an AH500-7 head once and it was an absolute beast of an amp, Even the 300W 1*15 combo I had was loud enough for all my needs. very heavy amps tho, the old trace stuff.
  15. Yep I used that combo myself and it worked really well.
  16. I think the "BIG" Trace 1200W goes down to 2ohms.
  17. Yep the only thing is to avoid running through impedances < 4ohm, SS amps dont like that.
  18. I reckon through an efficient 4 x 10 cab at 4ohms it should be loud enough. 200W is nothing to be sneezed at .
  19. It doesn't bother me too much but It was that scenario where the 4 rubber feet would not sit on the cab at once 🙈
  20. I actually sold my elf cab to a bassist that had one already, he was very impressed with the volume of 2 cabs running with the elf head. I guess because you're getting the full 200W from the 4ohm. I needed something compact but a tad wider that could be used with a 30W valve head that was a bit too big for the elf 110 cab.
  21. The closest I've had is the 1*10 elf cab with the elf head. Impressively loud for such a small rig however lacking a little bit in bottom end or warmth from one cab IMO.
  22. I'm Out - Epifani UL 110 cab, Oh well it was a good year and I sold a 110 elf to partially cover it.
  23. These instruments are great and there are very few accounts of them on 'tinterweb. So Im throwing my tuppence in.
  24. Old thread but I’ll comment anyway, these are great basses . 2+2 headstock not to everyone’s taste but the bass is very tidy (about 2” shorter than my Sandberg California/ fender p bass) despite having 24 frets . Sounds great and punchy . (I’ve the mm one) . I dunno any other bass players that have this bass but it’s excellent for the money (around €1400), mine was discounted to €1100. Some bass for that money .
