  1. Yeah I’ve been to the auction several times and to be fair they’re clear about it, but some people still get stung!
  2. Message sent. I'm local and this could be perfect!
  3. There's mad, and there's divorce-level craziness. This is the latter.
  4. I’ve heard good things. This is in my budget range as I won’t pay VAT and can buy from Richer too.
  5. Hello! I’ve got a Bose soundbar which has done me well for about 6 years, but its not powerful enough now so I was a replacement. Requirements are that the sound quality is good, the interface has simple to use and it’s not garish. I’m looking mid-price (up to £500) and would prefer to buy from decent guys (Richer Sounds) not evil box shifters (Amazon). Happy to take advice form those with experience.
  6. Wonderful basses. I found the tuners to be a little lightweight, but other than that no complaints! Was beautifully made.
  7. Yeah just a grounding strip which was then internally routed in late 62. They’ve gone proper on the authenticity!
  8. no worries dude. I’ve got family who fought there too. What you’re doing is very thoughtful and a very kind gesture. I took my dad to the Menin Gate and we heard the last post and went to see where some of our family had fought and died. Let us know how it goes!
  9. You should be able to figure it out from this. https://www.ultimate-tabs.com/misc-traditional/anzac-last-post-tab Im intrigued as to how old your uncle is if his son fought on WW2. Both of my grandparents who were veterans have sadly passed.

  11. I’m selling my truly wonderful and beautiful AER Basic Performer. This is one of the worlds best amps and is voiced for acoustic instruments (double bass, acoustic bass) but works just as well with electric bass. This is in excellent condition with just a few small marks on the bottom and a little on the side. I can buff these out, too. I’ll post specs below. These are almost £1500 new. This one also comes with a custom made cover. I’m selling for £725. I can’t post this and I’d prefer you collect. However, I can meet somewhere equidistant from Bristol. I’m selling as I don’t do jazz gigs really, I’m now investing in a large set-up for a heavy hitting blues and funk band.
  12. Boss Waza Air has transformed practice for me, bringing the fun back to bass and guitar. It’s tied in first place with the 1971 Martin D35. Worst purchase was one of those annoying and fiddly folding music stands that is useless.
  13. Snap! In all fairness, the best sounding jazz bass I’ve ever heard has one. It also has high output vintage pickups and is strung with chromes. I wanted something that would be ideal for jazz, blues and funk and this is, but I’m pretty sure the bridge has little to do with that!
  14. I agree to a point. And I love a British eccentric. The issue here is that he’s knocking out cheap basses at double the price to unsuspecting people (probably parents) who know no better. Personally I think that’s a bit off. Im sure he’s a lovely chap and I wish him all the best. I just hope that anyone starting out on bass doesn’t end up with this nonsense on Christmas Day and instead gets a brand new, clean and healthy HB.
  15. Very little. If people pretend they can tell the difference I wouldn’t believe them. The upgrade can be made in a few seconds and won’t cost you much. (Other opinions may exist)
  16. Just played on this for 2 hours and it’s a game changer for home practice. I’ve never heard a set of headphones this good for guitar and bass. Blown me away a bit.
  17. I bought one. Amazing piece of kit. The popularity of this will accelerate the development of other products from Behringer and the like. I too was worried about the battery as a sealed unit, but the lifespan for these is likely to be less than a decade, and so for that I think it's OK. I bought the guitar version as I'm back to playing the thin stringer, but it works flawlessly for bass too. I'm yet to try it on the EUB, that's tomorrow's experiment!
  18. it seems strange you’d stick so rigidly to orthodoxy on electric bass then use one finger per note on DB which isn’t just poor technique but potentially damaging too. Personally, I’ve always done one finger per string when playing scales etc, bjt tend to focus on what’s better for the situation when playing live.
  19. I’ve had all these and the MK bass should be on the list too. It’s a handmade instrument that’s of incredible quality.
  20. Regardless of your views on his creations (and having the gall to charge double the retail for a butchered HB bass) you have to applaud him for how much effort he puts into his listings. Videos and descriptions are all pretty good!
  21. Fishman Platinum Pro EQ/DI Analog Preamp - as new. Lovely acoustic pre amp. Unused as I now have an AER amp. It’s in mint condition with the plastic on the display. I’ve added Velcro to the bottom to fix to a pedal board.
