  1. The £ is probably sinking as I type this.
  2. If only I could get Logic to recognise it. I have done what I do with all plugins, and done the iLok thang but it is just not showing up after I reboot Logic. Ho hum. Any ideas?
  3. No worries. I did the 14 day free trial but could not load it without a code. Then I figured that £17.41 was not a bank breaker.
  4. The line is behind you.
  5. My DB was originally a 3 string which made a succseful journey through 4dom to 5dom. You are not wrong about my NS! The only problem with it was that I stopped travelling far enough to make carrying my DB an issue so stopped using the NS. Overseas gigs - those were the days
  6. While considering selling my Stymon Big Sky and buying the plugin, I ran into this. It looks like it wants to be a Big Sky when it grows up. I have no idea how it compares but the reviews look good and it is 10% of the price of the Blue Sky plugin at the moment. https://joeysturgistones.com/collections/mixing-effects/products/jst-sky-box
  7. While we are discussing it, different strings make a HUGE difference. I had a pupil who had one with ******** strings on it. I honestly cannot remember what they were, but they were proper Arco classical strings and the warm tone could have solved the national heating crisis we are running into. Sadly, DB strings are mind bendingly expensive so experimenting is very scary. NS stuff come with NS strings which are great for what they do but seem like long flatwound bass guitar strings. DB strings are made very differently.
  8. My certificate is in my Avatar photo
  9. All the detail. We are here to learn.
  10. But seriously, I used to have 5 string CR one. Just fabulous.
  11. You cannot spell Bass without a B. It's a sign.
  12. I am officially DB GAS free and have been for many years (apart from machine head GAS). But that looks like a fabulous combination.
  13. I don't need any MIDI bass for wrong note action. But I would love one.
  14. I am old enough to scoff at any thought that anything after 1965 is vintage. But I suppose vintage moves with the times and is defined by stuff that you wanted when you were in your teens but is now affordable when you have a job with disposable income. Is my 66 Jazz better than aything else I own? No. Will I be discussing that side of things when I come to sell it? Not a chance.
  15. I should have actually quoted Machines in my answer. The price is optimistic!
  16. His CV tells us that he could play.
  17. Custom builders can be like philosophers where time an abstract concept.
  18. So these are no longer available? What sort of cruelty waves one of these around and then tells us we cannot have one?
  19. Witness the fitness.
  20. I am not a fretless player, and do not need another fretted bass. Come and get it.
  21. I saw this and thought of you. https://www.musicradar.com/news/rnbo-max-launch
  22. I used to have an SL-20 and it was bonkers fun. Putting a Future Impact ->OC2 ->SL-20 chain together was synthtastic. It was the size of a small house though, so this format is very cool.
  23. Very lovely indeed. But for completeness "bass only" in this context = bass and keys. So not only is it funky goodness, but lovely ensemble playing. Above all, for me, it is Jaco's note placement which keeps me coming back.
  24. I have one of these. Loads and loads of clean gain.
  25. I had an Audere pre in my long suffering MTD Kingston a long time ago. There was a variable impedance switch in it. When I hit that the bass spoke with the voice of thunder. Then I changed it. And then I changed the pickups. I should not have. I looked into buying one recently but couldn't find one without doing an import from the US.
