  1. BOOM-20-OFF is not valid to buy the Ampeg B-15
  2. https://store.solidstatelogic.com/index.php?SubmitCurrency=1&id_currency=1
  3. SSL are doing discounts on various plugins. I must admit, if I could get their X Saturator in a pedal I would be very happy indeed.
  4. Fair play, this is quite a track!
  5. Thanks. I had not considered the guiro option.
  6. Don't get me wrong, I feel your pain! It was the sound I had been wanting to get down onto "tape" for a long time.
  7. I left it because he did frankly astonishing things with the vocal. I had been working with her for perhaps 40 years and NEVER heard her as good. Nor since, sadly.
  8. I have never liked it. Or in reality never managed to make it work for me. But then I bought a Spectracomp where someone else had done all that pesky programming. So I am fine with it. I also recorded some stuff and my bass and preamp sounded fabulous in the rough mix. Just like I dreamed it would. Then I was handed the final mix and it sounded like a bass. Not in a bad way, but not in the way I was hearing it in my head. This could have been EQ, but there was a healthy dose of control going on. I do not love compression, but I guess it has to be there.
  9. I would still venture the opinion that any amp is fine with an fdeck preamp in front of it (as long as you would be happy to gig it with a plank). This has been my personal experience.
  10. At the risk of getting the thread locked, so do I.
  11. I love a good cliffhanger before the next episode!
  12. Here they are with a pair of 7As for scale.
  13. If you are recording audio then an iPad hard drive is going to fill up astonishingly quickly.
  14. Ooooh Ooooh. A preamp I have not tried! <scoots off to read up on it>
  15. I am very much looking forward to reading this report.
  16. Lovely, honest piece of wood.
  17. I bought a box full of 2nd hand drumsticks to use at work. In amongst them there were two sticks which were thinner and lighter. No tip, the same at both ends. I thought they were timbale sticks but timbale sticks they look heavier. What are they? I would post pics but they are in Church at the moment. I am not a drummer but can imitate one and can hold down a beat. We use an electric kit there - mesh heads. Playing it with these ultra-light slightly bendy sticks of wood is SO much nicer than proper sticks. But what are they?
  18. Really interesting to see proper measuring doobries telling the truth about amp outputs. I would like to see one doing bass amps.
  19. I bought an active 5 string one in an Ebay accident. I chamfered the forearm and did a belly cut. You are correct.
  20. I am married to a harpist so am fully licensed to use and adapt harp jokes. You would spend 95% of your time tuning and 5% of your time playing out of tune.
  21. I am very dissapointed that I had to read to post 18 before someone said what needed to be said.
  22. Essentially it is a way of sucking you into a whole new world of outboard gear GAS. You buy seperate modules, plug them in and off you go. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=500+Series+modules&_sacat=0
  23. If only selling was as easy as buying.
