2. Jaco - Ceilliau y ci! (as we say round here)
3.
Yeah, total bargain. Do I need this AND my DB750?
Want it you know you do!
A cracking looking bass - this may prompt some disgust elsewhere but how do you reckon it would be with it's frets pulled out? I'd get it done properly! Ieuan
Ummmmmm........... I guess that it would work well. It is light and resonant and the Piezos certainly sound finer than a fine thing. I could get the pliers out tonight!
5. Hmmmmmmmmm............ not quite sure my present gigs call for that. I shall back away. Thanks anyway.

7.
1 of only 5 in existance (I think it could be slightly more) I'm fairly certain mine is the only one in red sparkle. It the pedal below the 2nd volume pedal inbetween the Valcoder and the Bottom Feeder. This is a very odd and unique pedal that can cop everything from synthy fuzz to ring mod esq tones and all manner of odd things inbetween. There really is nothing like it other than possible the Moog Freqbox and that is 6 times the size, not 9vdc and not this cheap £70
You have tweaked my interest, but I cannot find any sound samples. Sale or return?
8. That is a luscious use of wood.
9. I bought a Steinberger NS5 from David ages and ages ago. Everything was cool

Amp stand

Due to really bad planning on my part I managed to buy two 88 note keyboard stands for my church. One is in use, but due to even more bad planning I managed to not return the other one in time. I started thinking about it and suddenly realised that I could use it as a stand for my cab. It lifts it up so that the sound is hitting me square between the shoulder blades. It is one of these and it rocks! http://www.thomann.de/gb/km_18950.htm The initial outlay was more than I would have thought of paying, but by the time I would have had to pay carriage back due to me being caught in a time vacuum and leaving it too late to post back on their coin it has become quite reasonable, and having used it on a gig last night, it is (for me) £70 well spent.
11. There was a bloke round town who had F**k you on the back of his neck (but not as subtle as that). He wore his hair short. Class beyond.
ooh, that's seriously piqued my interest - I think now is the time to ebay my bob gluab
You knows it!
16. The grain on the back of that is lush!
17. If you are a regular reader then you will recognise my love/not sure relationship with this bass. I have already traded it and traded it back once. It has a set of Piezo pick ups which frankly speak with the voice of thunder, with a really open bottom end and a sound that sits extremely well acoustic instruments nice and full, but without the thud of a magnetic pick up. The magnetic pick up covers that end of it. However I am a Jazz bass bloke and try as I might I cannot get with the pick-up placement for wedging my thumb onto it. This is a personal foible and no reflection on the instrument, I am just to old to change my ways so I shall plumb some piezos and a decent buffering pre-amp into another bass. The pics speak for themselves but they do not tell you that it only weighs 7.6 pounds. It comes with the original HSC and the controls are (EMG) magnetic pick up Vol/BassTreble/Mid with mid sweep and then there is a seperate Piezo volume and tone control. Sperzel locking machine heads. Let's face it, it is fitter than a fit thing and you need it. £740 + Carriage. Firm. Not looking for trades, I have already bought the next bass. You know how it is.
18. He bought my Bergantino so I could buy more Bergantino. It was fabulous.
19. So glad that I am allergic to carrying huge bits of kit around and do not have any regular gigs that need this kind of grunt! Yes, that is the thought process of a man who is persuading himself
20. If Kev has something he cannot afford then he is being resposible in shifting it. GAS is fun, but unsustainable debt is not cool.
21. You know, if this had EBS or somesuch on it then people would be selling their grannies to buy them. You need external EQ? You need a usable compressor? You need a variable high pass filter? You need more gain? Here is THE Swiss army knife for bass. I have no commercial interest here. I just love mine.
22.
I would be very interested to buy it for my son
If you ever feel the need to adopt anyone else then I am available
23. I live in Bangor. It's nice, but you will certainly not find ANY Warwicks here
24.
Well, I've used loads...including the Baggs (but not the current Fishman). Good things about the Baggs = strong output, good control over input gain, runs on phantom, has a permanent "low cut" which doesn't seem to mess with your sound but helps with "rumble". Bad points = hard to use a tuner send cable (it needs a return as well, one of those Y patch cables) can be too high output for the PA, the eq isn't really designed for bass, more acoustic guitar. A lot of the variable eq is well above a useful range. I used to use the old Fishman preamp, but that had no DI. It always sounded good, but that was ten years ago..... To be honest, any good quality active preamp/DI will help with most pickups, its a question of which features are useful to you. Most of the time I use a "flat" active DI made by Orchid - the most useful feature is the mute footswitch so I can turn off!
I have not used the Baggs but use the Fishman happily. It does all the Baggs is said to do above, but the EQ is for bass and the tuner out is just a tuner out and the low cut is variable. it also has a phase reverse to ease some feedback issues. I'm sure the Baggs is a fine piece of kit, but it looks like the Fishman is in the lead at the moment.
25. I have a 5 string Mazeti. I paid £120 for it new. It needed new pick ups. The rest is just great. I have spent an awful lot more than I care to admit to on basses (US MTD, US Lak, Sei yawn yawn yawn). The Mazeti 5 is just fantastic with new pick ups and proves that we are indeed living in the golden age of lutherie and the law of diminishing returns is alive and well.
