Top. I believe that the neck is where the magic happens. Having done a kit build I've decided that yours is the way to go when I do a scratch build. It's not a problem to buy bass bodies in varying states of finish but it's tricky to get a neck that's really nice from off the shelf.

If nowt else, it makes an interesting read when you look it up.

I agree with you. The second image looks more purposeful somehow. I reckon it would do more to protect the finish coat than the in first image. I suppose it depends on whether you do more plucking at the bridge or near the neck. If you aren't needing to keep faithful to the original that is.

I'm stumped for an answer to that.

I don't want to keep lumbering on about it because by now it should be ingrained in yew all... It takes tree fellers or more to a ply puns and knot two. Until Andy improves on "Oh dear....oh dear....oh dear" it just leaves yew and me Frank.

I think the way Mr Hook looked on stage was more appealing to me than his musical style, good and all though it was. Luckily I was jamming in a band with two basses and the other one took the high road like Hooky, so to speak, leaving me the meatier bottom end stuff. (Cheers Brian)

Great news. Now all you have to do is to style it out and say you wanted folk to think the bass was made from a huge Garibaldi biscuit.

I've heard one or two of the neighbours working on shed projects with power tools. It's reassuring. It's not uncommon for Spondon. We have lots of home builders of various projects. What is odd is that a lack of traffic noise means that you hear just the birds and occasionally the power tools. Don't let it keep you down, especially after Her Maj's speech last night. If nothing else, do it to keep your sanity. Keep Calm and Carry On
