  1. Good work. I'm surprised how thick the fretboard seems to be.
  2. I think we'd let you off seeing as you've put up a bass build already. It hasn't stopped @Andyjr1515.
  3. and even then... it's a guitar!
  4. It's not a colour scheme that works for me but it does look the business.
  5. It might be wisest not to remove any wood in this area. The clearance hole and access point for the truss rod already weakens the neck. As far as I know you can't reinforce it with a volute after either.
  6. No apologies necessary. I was pulling your leg to some extent. You will find that pickguards can be more controversial than you'd ever imagined all the same.
  7. Welcome Mark. "Tort"... oh boy. You might have opened up a small can of worms. Let's just be thankful you aren't asking whether to refinish in a red or a brown burst. Heeheehee. PS: None of my basses have pickguards so I can't really express an opinion.
  8. Stubborn determination mainly. Just keep in mind how good it will feel when it's long enough for the wind to catch it.
  9. Welcome Pete.
  10. That crinkle finish actually looks good. It's a shame it's a defect.
  11. One thing to be cautious about... Your block of wood is presenting an end grain towards the pickguard screw. I advise you drill a pilot hole for the screw that is the diameter of the screw core before attempting to fit it. In addition, make sure the screw is waxed and even then be cautious when you tighten the screw. If you do all of these things you might avoid the grain splitting. Good luck.
  12. That's unnecessarily shiny! Stop it. Heeheehee. Flippin' amazing is what it is.
  13. I imagine this takes care of any North/South misalignments too.
  14. Yes, you never hear fans saying they've enjoyed a gig because the bass was just whelming enough do you.
  15. Welcome Roberto.
  16. Welcome Koen.
  17. Welcome Scott.
  18. Welcome Barry.
  19. According to the late Mr Bowie; The moment you know, you know. From Where are We Now? David Bowie I've only got a Zoom B3.
  20. Welcome Chris. It looks as if you have thought about this quite a bit. I'd say go for the left handed approach. If right handed players like myself can get the fingers of their left hands to dance among the frets... you might actually find it easier to do chord work with your right hand and then all's you got to do is train your left hand to pluck or pick. I hold a belief that most musicians are bi-dextrous or become that way of necessity.
  21. Hayfever?
